This series is so hard to fully review, because SO MUCH has happened (I've actually taken notes on each book so I can remember all the crazy twists and details) and saying anything on the latest book will pretty much spoil every book that came before it. Soooooo my thoughts on Spiders In The Grove:

1. Everyone is a fucking liar.
2. I CAN'T BELIEVE I trusted any of these liars.
3. Well, ^ that's a lie. I still trust Niklas. He's my favorite and always will be. DON'T FIGHT ME ON THIS I ADORE HIM.
4. JA Redmerski must have a notebook the size of Texas which she re-reads each time she writes a new book in this series to keep up with the always growing, crazy ass, intense storyline.
5. The last half of this book = SHOOK.
6. BUT LIKE WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN?!?!
7. Fredrik and Niklas looking after Izabel is what I live for.
8. Willa. WILLA. WHAT EVEN.
9. That ending.
10. If the next book isn't Fredrik's, JA and I will be having some words.
11. The next line is kind of a spoiler don't read it.
12. #BRINGSERAPHINABACK
13. I TOLD YOU NOT TO READ IT.
14. Do you guys think the next book will be Fredrik's it has to be right I mean the way his last chapter ended he was ready for it holy shit I am still so creeped out please JA PLEASEEEE we need his book!
15. This is the best damn series.

Phewwww ok got that all out. I'll now just be not so patiently waiting for The Darkest Half.

"I'm not afraid. Monsters aren't usually afraid of other monsters."

I did not expected this twisted mind games of a story. The author seriously had me hanging on a thread the entire time.

Now I feel empty, my heart is bleeding out for all these amazing characters. I don't feel any satisfaction in fact I feel is just so numb. So many questions and no answers and I need to know what's going to happen to all my babies ugh I feel so lost and have no idea how to get a hold of my self with all these emotions.

I was in rage at some scenes, I was utterly excited at others but I was completely sad for the end. I hated the end it was too short too blahhh and it left me just empty and not satisfied. I don't know how I will survive if book 8 takes another 2yrs to be release. This book was definitely the most suspenseful and twisted than the others, no happy fart rainbow unicorn for damn sure. I still liked it thought because I came to love each and every single one of the characters that I will die loving them. I just need answers.

sooo...this is me right now!

"...love is the only force in the world that can blind a person to even the most obvious truths."

I very much enjoyed the start to this dangerous installment and I seriously adored the povs and especially how each friend/Order member sent someone to help our girl out!

description

There are some big reveals, excitement, deaths, and new characters.

HOWEVER, that ending fell flat for me.

description

I also must admit I had some trouble could be my age or the fact that it was TWO YEARS since I had read the previous installment but I didn’t remember some things. I would suggest glossing over the previous book and join me in hoping the next book is seconds away from going live.

Izabel and Naeva went to the mission to find what they want, among the Ruiz family in Mexico. The exact family who ruined Izabel’s life and made her what/how she is! There, they’re separated and each one went after what they wanted but apparently, Naeva wasn’t as lucky as Izabel and to help her, Izabel had to confess something that was on her shoulder for a long time. Well in the meanwhile, Fredrik tells us more about the serial Killer and Niklas’s past catches up to him.

I love this series and I wish the author wrote more than a book each year because in this case, waiting for the next book is really hard for me. I love this group and I was really sorry for what happened to it at the end but somehow I think Victor did the right thing! And now that makes me anxious and intrigued to know how is Ms. Redmerski gonna continue this series?! Told in multiple POV, in both 1st and 3rd person. It’s so well-written with a great story-line. It’s the seventh installment in the "In the Company of Killers" series. It ends on a cliffhanger and it has to be read in order. All in all, really enjoyed it and hoped you like it as well!

I've been waiting this book for years since Behind the Hands that Kill and I'm beyond excited because finally, the long awaited sequel arrived! But, I'm nervous too because of the plot twists coming and guys, they are explosive and deadly.

"I left Mexico as Sarai, and came back as Izabel. And once I have what I came here to get, I will kill them all."

Spiders in the Grove begins in the end of the previous book as Izabel Seyfried / Sarai Cohen returns to Mexico with Naeva Brun for an unfinished business with the Ruiz family. They let themselves be captured and become slaves. They have different reasons for infiltrating the slavery compound and they must play a dangerous game without blowing up their covers. For weeks, they have to play a role. One is a slave and a slave trainer. I'm so nervous for these ladies because it's unsure they'll come out alive when shit happens.

This is told in multiple point of views and I'm glad to see what Victor, Fredrik and Niklas have been doing while Izabel is on her mission. It's evident these guys cared about her safety. Several things happened in this book and I have my own theories what's going to happen. Some are right and some are unexpected as fuck. . I was shook! I can't discuss it here due to spoilers. If you've read this, you know what I mean.

Holy fucking shit. This book WRECKED ME. The last 30%... OMFG WHAT THE FLYING FUCK. Jaw-dropping plot twists out of fucking nowhere!!! I CAN'T EVEN. I'M NOT OKAY 😭😭😭💔💔 SEND HELP. The plot twists, betrayals and lies, oh my god! J.A. Redmerski have no holds barred on these revelations. It's amazing, unique and mind blowing. I was speechless because my heart shattered in pieces when I finished.

No matter how heart breaking the circumstances are, I love the direction of the story. All the characters have their own spotlights and they are strongly independent. They are legit badass. I feel like this is an introduction and a beginning of a new chapter. They have their own missions and I'm looking forward to see what happens.

The reason I didn't give this 5 stars because Naeva Brun doesn't have a POV here. She has great potential as a heroine and I wish we get to read her thoughts. Unless, she'll have her own book but I don't see any angle she'll play a huge role at the moment. For now, let's wait and see. I need the 8th book ASAP! 😭😭😭

Spiders in the Grove is the seventh installment in J.A. Redmerski's dark romance/thriller series: In the Company of Killers. This installment picks up right where the sixth book leaves off... and if you are reading these books as they are released, you will very likely need a recap by skimming over Behind the Hands That Kill or reviewing your ebook highlights or reading some spoilery reviews. We have waited a LONG time for this continuation.

Spiders in the Grove primarily follows Izabel's POV as she voluntarily puts herself back in Mexico's hellhole: the Ruiz compound. She has grown so much throughout this series and has absolutely proven herself to be grade A badass. She has learned from the best to do whatever it takes to get her personal mission accomplished.
"Because the job isn't about money for me - it's about vengeance. And bloodshed. It's about being a voice for those whose voices were stolen from them. And there is no shortage of people who deserve to die, that's for sure."
Redmerski also incorporated POV's from other familiar characters (Fredrik, Niklas, The Red Lotus, Nora, Victor) in small increments throughout the novel which provided revelations, character support, and emotional suspense, but she again leaves her loyal readers half collapsed on the floor in dire need of the next installment...because that ending (and the serial killer revelation!!!! I knew it!!!).

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Spiders in the Grove. I had to take off one star because , but hey, it's fiction and it allowed the story to progress so I can't really fault it all that much. It was just distractingly unrealistic. Another thing that was unrealistic but I ate the f*ck up was our girl's bloodbath at the end.

"...semi-automatic clutched in my hand, no shoes on my feet, dress stained with blood."
Hell yeah! If you haven't yet tested your toes in J.A. Redmerski's dark, blood-filled waters, get on it. Seriously, it's an awesome series! Note: In the Company of Killers absolutely must be read in order! Have fun ;)

My favorite quote:
“I have realized that love always finds a way, and that no amount of training in the world can ever prepare one for it; no one can avoid it; it truly is the most powerful force in life; the Great Destroyer.”

April 2017:

This little teaser has been on goodreads almost a year ya'll. Seriously, I need information. Redmerski, you're killing us!!!

"I left Mexico as Sarai, and came back as Izabel. And once I have what I came here to get, I will kill them all."

In the Company of Killers series is one of my favorites. I always impatiently wait on the next book in the series to release, so I can dive back into this intriguing, suspenseful and dark world. There was so much going on in this book, that I had to make sure that I didn't get lost. It took me some time to remember what happened in the previous book, I think from now on it's best I reread before starting a new book in this series. There are still so many secrets that need to be revealed, and there were many that were out in the open in this book. I was shocked my some and I loved all the plot twists. This review will be super vague, because for new readers of this series it would be all spoilers and for ItCoK series readers it is best to go in blind. I really hope if you have continued reading this series for this long, that you won't give up on it now.

"As you are becoming stronger, Izabel, I am becoming weaker. I have stepped so far out of the only life I have ever known, that I do not know myself anymore."

This installment was perfect in my opinion. The ending probably will be loved by some and disliked a bit by others, but I thought it was exactly what this series needed. I love it when the author mixes things up, and she definitely did that with this book. This book was mainly focusing on Izabel, but Niklas and Fredrik played an important role as well. I am super curious to see which direction the author will take with their stories. This series is sometimes like a puzzle, and we as a reader are just waiting on all the pieces to fall into place. It was full of suspense, action and it had me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to see what will happen next, so I will impatiently wait on book 8: The Darkest Half to release.

I don't think my heart was ready. Actually, I KNOW my heart wasn't ready for this book.

I was so dumb. I don't even know why I expected any kind of happy ending with this book. Will these killers ever get their happy endings? With the way the author left these characters' lives in the balance, I'm not sure where they'll end up, but I'm looking forward to finding out.

What the hell Victor??? You better come to your senses in the next book. This dude almost broke my heart at one point until I realized his deception, but now he's definitely caused a rip.

I'ma come for you bro if you don't smarten up. As for Izabel... I wanted to smack the ish out of her. I'm not even mad at what she had to do to survive and get ahead in this story. I'm mad at her for reasons beyond explanation. Read the book and you'll see.

Fredrik has got himself into some trouble and I can tell that this will be such a delicious part of the story. And Niklas... the heart of that man gets me every time. I love him almost as much as I love Victor (and that's saying something).

Waiting for book 7 seemed endless and I can only hope that the wait for book 8 isn't as long.

I swear to god these books just get more insane as they go on and somehow the number of characters I like in each book dwindles as I reach the next one.

I wasn't the biggest fan of this book for so many reasons, mainly because I hate everyone (except Niklas and Fredrik, they're my precious cinnamon rolls), but holy jesus, can everyone let Izabel stand up on her own two feet and do her thing? She doesn't need a babysitter (even if it was a little cute to watch them all pander around like little children worried they'd lose their prize toy).

Izabel is as cold as ice and as ruthless as they come. She doesn't need anybody. And that gets proven again, and again. Even the plot twist wasn't all that shocking when you consider her character. But damn was I shook! And fist pumping the air because the betrayal, you guys! The betrayal. I was living for it. I have disliked Victor for so many books (have you ever met someone so bland and boring?) that I was sipping that good tea when it was revealed. And then she had to ruin it with her "I love you, Victor" speech. Yawn.

EDIT: September 4th, 2017
IT. HAS. A. TITLE. I am still high key rooting for Niklas and Izabel and I have no shame. I need this book yesterday.

Excuse all the fucks.
I'm so angry. Someone hose me down.

Was I wrong in believing there was a romance story between Izabel and Victor starting in book 1? Was I wrong to be hopeful that after the author decided to mess with their already established relationship in the previous book, things would work out between them? I've accepted all the darkness in their story—the bad and the ugly. I love dark romance reads and was prepared for a different kind of HEA for these two. BUT goddamnit!!!! Another cliffhanger?! Again, no WARNING of a cliffhanger, no HEA (not even fucking close), no closure, more heartache and MORE waiting. Izabel's and Victor's yo-yoing relationship is tiresome to say the least. I wish they would just figure it out already and stop playing with my damn heart! (Yeah, I talk about characters like they’re real.)

I read Behind the Hands that Kill five month ago and it slayed me. It was achingly beautiful and so emotionally intense; I effin loved it. Victor broke me with his confessions but he also pieced me back together and I fell even more in love with him and Izabel. The cliffhanger at the end of that book left me desperately anticipating the release of book 7. I imagined all sorts of scenarios, preparing myself for the worst but still holding out hope for a "happy" ending because damn it, they deserve it. The readers deserve it (or maybe I’m the only one who needs it).
Finally, I get Spiders in the Grove in my hands and I'm hugely disappointed.
And seriously, it isn’t because I didn’t get the ending I hoped for. There were PLENTY of things that bothered me about this book. It felt rushed. The dialogue, the characters, the writing were way off from the previous books. I rather not go on and on here anymore, but if anyone wants to know more about this book, message me. The list of grievances goes on. It might help me to vent.

Will I read the next book? At the moment, my heart is begging for closure so I'll say... yes/maybe/hell-no/idk! I've been rooting for Izabel and Victor for so long (7 books!) but it might be time to say goodbye. I guess only time will tell.

3 I don’t like the direction the series is going Stars

In the company of killers is my favorite series. That’s a very bold comment right? I’ve read over 1,000 books, so that MEANS something. I was very disappointed with Spiders in the Grove. First off, it kills me to wait for so long for each book, then again, I like the wait because I feel like the author really puts her time and effort into the stories.

Almost all of the books have been 5 star reads for me, even Fredrik’s book and that one is pretty messed up. The best way to describe this series is like a drama TV series. Each book is its own episode. You never know who’s story you will get and the story can go on forever, so when I started to read this one, I had high expectations because this is Izabel’s book.

Expect, this wasn’t like any other book. This was Izabel on a mission. The entire book was the mission and of course we get a few POV’s from the gang, which I enjoyed, but overall the feel of the book was nothing like the previous books.

I’m not even disappointed that the interaction between Victor and Izabel is 100% non-existent. Okay, I lie, it’s a little disappointing, I just hated the direction of the story.

Izabel needed to do things, because that is what she is. She is a killer, she seeks revenge and she is willing to do ANYTHING for it. Even when she

I can’t say this enough but everything is changing and maybe that is what the series needed, but did EVERYTHING have to change?

The beginning / 50% of the book was slow and it took me months to read. Yup. I picked it up, read a bit and put it back down. I struggled with it hard and when I got the second half of the book I was reading like mad trying to figure out how everything would end.

Secrets were revealed, betray was revealed and true colors were revealed.

Changes:

Overall, My heart is broken because This was not a five star book. My heart is broken because my favorite series is no longer my favorite series. My heart is broken because I have no desire to read the next book (whomever it may be focused on).

I’m just a shattered mess.

Original review: The New Romantics

The next installment to my ALL-TIME FAVORITE SERIES is finally here!

description

It's been months since Behind the Hands That Kill left me in a state of shookethness because of all the tea that was spilt. With all the events that went down in the sixth book, I was very curious to see where things would go next...ESPECIALLY WITH VICTOR AND IZZY BECAUSE I WAS NOT FUCKING WILLING TO LET THIS SHIP SINK! I had my theories written down for every possible plot twist I could think of. I legit re-read all the books just so I could make sure I didn't miss anything. I thought my ass was ready for the fuckery that was about to go down. That was my first mistake...I thought.

description

Spiders in the Grove picks up right where the Behind the Hands That Kill left off. Izabel and Naeva are off to Mexico to get their revenge on the Ruiz Empire. They plan to tear town the empire from the inside by getting themselves captured, although things don't go end up going exactly the way they planned. Meanwhile, the rest of Victor's Order are all on their own personal missions and what happens next may end up tearing them apart.

Spiders in the Grove started off a bit slow for me. I felt like a good chunk of this book was more so a filler because nothing too exciting really goes down. Although, that it not necessarily a bad thing because the story builds up to one hell of an explosive ending so I can't be too bothered by this slow pacing. One other thing that did bother me for sure were the length of the chapters. They were rather short and I felt that hardly left any room for the side stories to fully develop. I know this book was more so focused on Izzy's revenge, but I have so many unanswered questions about these side missions and I need answers NOW!

I really loved the fact that everyone's POVs were included in this book. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that this is the first book where all of the main character's POVs are included and they're on the same timeline. There's not that one POV that's being told in the past or that one character who only gets one chapter at the very end. Also, the writing was a little different in this book, more specifically, the tone for some of these POVs were more on the lighter side. Fredrik who will forever be my dark knight and Niklas who is will forever be my moody bastard actually made me laugh quite a few times. Their internal dialogues were just too funny and I'm honestly surprised because who the fuck knew that these two had this other side to them??

THE FUCKERY WAS REAL DURING THE LAST 30% OF THIS BOOK! LIKE WTF EVEN ARE THESE PLOT TWISTS AND HOW DID I NOT SEE THEM COMING?! I'm still shook by Izzy's confession because even though Redmerski warned us that there would be a betrayal, I didn't expect it to be something like this. I feel personally attacked. I feel betrayed. I can't trust any of these characters anymore. Everything I thought I knew is now a lie and I don't know what to do with myself.

I don't even have the ability to form a coherent thought about my feelings on Izzy and Victor's relationship status. I know Niklas and Izzy shippers may be rejoicing but honestly y'all need to calm yo tits because it's never gonna happen. IZZY AND VICTOR ARE MEANT TO BE AND I WILL FIGHT ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE.

description

Spiders in the Grove was not at all what I was expecting and I honestly don't know what to expect next. I'm not even going to make any attempts at guessing what's to come because I done know Redmerski is gonna throw us for a loop. I just hope the wait for the next book won't be as long as this one was.

I was waiting so long for this book and I can say that I'm not satisfied. So many questions and no answers. Of course that this book was again full of surprises and unexpected twisted things & I enjoyed every damn word of it.
Every time, everything twisted 180 ° in this series & I really don't know what to expect from the story and these characters, each of them proves that we don't know them the way we think :D
I wanted to give it 4 stars because It was too short and it left me in hell and I better not say anything about the waiting for next book! but all of them are good the reasons that I can't give it less than 5 :D
Why is J.A. Redmerski doing this to us? Why?

At this point I really don't mind anymore all the lack of consistency, the ridiculous situations, the ugly soapish draaama and yet again, another non-ending end, but Izabel taking down seventy people all by herself? Nope. Not even in science fiction.

Since it seems every nonsensical thing is possible now, just bring Seraphina back so she can kill them all. 😑

Off...

Seni Allah kahretmesin yazar, böyle kitap sonu mu olur?
.
Seride her zaman en sevdiğim Kara Kurt olacak fakat bir kıyaslama yapacak olursam Lydia bir dakika bile heyecan kaybı yaşatmadan kendini okuttuğu için üst sıralarda yerini alır.
Gerçi ben serinin her kitabını yerimde hoplayarak okuyorum. Kendi kendime garip sesler çıkarıp oraya buraya vuruyorum ve ev ahalisinin garip bakışlarına maruz kalıyorum.
Yazarın ele aldığı kurgu film tadında. Her sahne gözümde canlanıyor.
Diğer kitaplarda olduğu gibi tempo hiç düşmüyor. Bir serinin hiçbir kitabı mı sıkmaz? 7.kitaba geldik ama yok her saniyesi aynı etikiyi yaratıyor üzerimde. Olaylar, olaylar...
.
Birlik manyak yerlere gidiyor, gizli gizli insanlar giriyor kitaba, beklenmeyen şeyler oluyor. Hepsini dile getirmek istiyorum ama yapamıyorum. Çok heyecanlıydı be!
.
Ah o son sahneler ah...
Böyle kitap mı bitirilir vicdansız kadın, isyanlardayım.
Seri kesinlikle gözü kapalı tavsiye ettiklerimden. Ben her kitabı ayrı ayrı bayılarak okudum.

God, I missed this series, but I feel so stressed right now. It feels like they all broke up with me.

Please tell me we don't have to wait too long for the next book. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE HELL NIKLAS WANTED FREDRIK TO TELL IZABEL!!

Speaking of Izabel.
I loved her in this book. She aced it, and I loved every second of it.

About Lysandra Hollis.

About the serial killer.

Something that made me smile during the whole reading was the fact

before (no spoilers just rubbish)

This series is INCREDIBLE!!! The wait in between the books nearly kills me, but they are so worth it. Every book just gets better. Izabel has always been my ultimate favorite heroine and she has grown into something terrifyingly amazing. Now I just need more of my fave- Niklas!!!

I need this book!

As hot as it always is for the forbidden love type scenario, I just can't with Niklas and Izabel. I was so pleased how things turned out in the last book but now I need Victor and Izabel to be okay for always. I don't care how silly and immature that sounds - I need it!
