Vampires are not usually my thing, but I really enjoyed the first anthology in this series and was looking forward to reading this next installment.
Blood Lust - The plan being put in place for Tillie laid all the drama on the table right from the beginning and had me on edge wanting to know what would happen. There were emotions and betrayal throughout and by the end I was rendered speechless.
The Monster Himself - This story was a chilling walk down memory lane for Joseph and also showcased his pride, power, and darkness. It was interesting hearing his history and also his plans for the future. It made me want to continue on with the book immediately.
Almost Human - This story started with an in-depth look at a vampire fight scene in NY. I felt as if I were there among the crowd sharing in the sights and sounds. Teeka's predicament was worrisome and really had my interest piqued. The ending left me with a lingering curiosity.
Finding Gretel - Erin Lee has done it again; her written word pulled me along by my emotions from start to finish.
Ultimate Sacrifice - This story really intrigued me. I was instantly along on the journey with Milly to try and find her mother. When she received an offer that she couldn't refuse, I was torn emotionally for her.
Blood Daughter - Through this story I gained a deeper, and darker, understanding of Sadie. All that she was and what she was forced to become had emotions raging within me. When the climax of the story came I was shocked by the sudden turn of events. The end left me curious about what would be to come in the future for both Sadie and Tillie.
Bloody Romance - Callie's story was a unique one of being caught between the vampire and human worlds and unwanted by both. I was eager to see what her plan would be going forward. It was shown to be a lonely existence, so I wanted to see her find some place to fit in and be happy. The ending brought hope and maybe even the beginnings of peace.
Caught in the Act - This was tale of yearning and betrayal that pulled me right into its world. Even when things went south, I couldn't turn away. I think this was one of Greig's best stories yet.
Turned - Delude knocked in out of the park again with this spectacular story that really moved things along in the battle of vampire vs human. The whole anthology had been setting the stage a story at a time, but I really felt like this one was setting me up for the climax shortly to come.
Shadow's Call - I loved getting to know more about Denise and the role that she played in everything. As the days ticked away, I was eager to know the outcome of events. The ending of this book definitely left me wanting more. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
