What happens when the normal antics and bad decisions of vivacious children, growing up in the 1980s, results in consequences no one could see coming? Innocent, childhood friendships marked by pinky swears, sleepovers, Atari games, and parents who all knew each other in a neighborhood which was a safe haven.
What happens when the unimaginable occurs, and when it is your fault? Can you get over the guilt? Will it follow you like a dark shadow into your future? Should you ever speak of this again? What really happened down at the corner?
I couldn’t put this book down. The description of the kids, the neighborhood, the parents took me back to my childhood. A great reminder of how times were compared to how they are for the children we raise I did not expect this to be tear jerker but it was. If you were a child of the 70s/80s this will be right in your wheel house I’m glad I took the time to read it
