For no apparent reason, the father of eighteen-year-old Marian Fairfax is brutally murdered and she is plunged into a terrifying world of violence.

Aided by an ex-SAS soldier, she attempts to discover who caused her father's death, and why. She also has to stay alive - no mean feat under the circumstances.

An inheritance, sapphire jewels left to her by her mother, takes on a startling significance when she discovers that the death of her father is directly related to their existence.

Someone will stop at nothing to obtain the jewellery, and Marian herself, in order to learn their mysterious secrets.

Legacy is the fourth book in the series, 'The Chronicles of the White Tower'. It differs from the first three novels as it is based in both modern times and the medieval age.

It is actually book one of a trilogy within the general series. Other books of the trilogy are (working titles): The Summoning and Time Meld.

About the author

Mark Patrick

92 books4 followers
An Englishman who, for the last thirty years, has lived in Spain, Mark Patrick has enjoyed a lifelong love affair with books. Add to that an early training in photography and cine, and you have a writer who sees his writing as the art of creating cinema in the mind.

He believes characters should have depth, as well as faults and limitations. They are as important to a book as a strong, fast moving plot.

Sharing his life with a wife, three children and two dogs (at last count), he’s a lover of most types of music; particularly vocal jazz, photography, old films, and older jokes.

If you visit, you might find him reading anything from A (Austin) to Z (Zola), or passing through topics in the Encyclopedia Britannica between novels, while listening to Mozart, Miles Davis or Billie Holiday.

He likes getting feedback. You can e-mail Mark at markpatrickspain@gmail.com and he'll try and respond to messages (as long as they are polite).
