This is the 5th book in the series about the Harveys of Cornwall. This is a great family saga.

This story is set just months after WWII finished. Emilia and Perry have taken a step back, they now have a 2 year old son Paul. This story is about some of the next generation. Emilia’s daughter Lottie is waiting for her American husband Nate Harmon to come back from being demobbed and selling up his American Ranch to settle in England with her and their son. Tom and Jill Harvey are happily living at Ford Farm. Tristan Harvey and his niece Faye are looking after the Smith children who came to them as refugees. We meet Susan Dowling and war veteran Mark Fuller who ends up staying at Tremore to recover from his injuries. Fergus Blair comes down from Scotland to claim Faye now that his wife has died.

It was fun to catch up with this family it was a pity though that Tristan’s son Johnny did not come to visit in this book.
