In Bed with the Beast is book two in the Naughty Princess Club series by Tara Sivec. Each one of these adorable, sexy, sweet tales is based loosely on a fairy tale, the first being Cinderella, and this one if you haven’t guessed it is Beauty and the Beast.

in bed with the beast tara sivec

Belle is twenty five years old and still lives with her very over protective father. It’s always just been she and her Dad. They share an extreme love of books and she loved cooking dinner for him and talking about their days and about the books they so adored. But Belle wants to spread her wings, she wants to experience new things. Her two new best friends and she have started a stripper business. Even though only Cindy has been brave enough to actually do the dancing at private parties while she and Ariel do the administrative work, she wants to be brave enough to dance. But Ariel and Cindy say she needs some experience with men in order to be a good stripper.

Belle’s true love is books. She has worked at the town library for nine years. But the library is struggling. The board is threatening to close it down if she can’t find a way to bring in some revenue. That makes her stripping business all the more important. She needs to start dancing so she can use her earnings to help fund the library.

Belle in the library

Her father most definitely does not approve of her two new friends or her interest in stripping. He kicks her out of the house. With no where else to go, Beast, the bouncer at Charmings, the strip club where she plans to make her dancing debut, offers her his spare room until she can figure out something else. Beast has always been a mystery to Belle. He is gruff, rarely speaks, and scares everyone to death, except Belle. She feels oddly safe with him. He lays down the house rules, the most important one being to never try to go into the locked room down the hall. What could he be hiding in there?

There has always been something there between Belle and Beast. But now that they are living under the same roof, it gets stronger. Is it something that could develop into more? Could Beast give her the experiences she needs in order to be a better stripper? Belle is determined to find out.

Okay, this book was adorable. Beast was so not a beast on the inside. I love the inner softy that Belle brought out of him. And Belle, meek little Belle, found her inner strength and learned how to stand up for herself. These two were perfect for each other. But there are definitely secrets, things Beast is keeping from Belle, that could ruin everything. I loved this book. I can’t wait for the next one, Kiss the Girl, which will be Ariel’s story. She’s got some secrets as well, and I can’t wait to figure out what they are.

In Bed with the Beast is the second book in the 'Naughty Princess Club' series, and as much as I enjoyed the first book, I loved this one even more. This book features Isabelle Reading, and her very own Beast, Vincent.

Belle is the youngest and most innocent of the Naughty Princess Club. She's using the club to save her library and move out of her father's basement. One of those things happens before planned, though. When Belle's dad kicks her out of the house, she doesn't know what she'll do or where she'll go. That is, until the bouncer at Charming's, Vincent "Beast" Adams offers her a place to stay. At first, Belle is hesitant about this arrangement. She doesn't know Beast that well. But her options are slim, so she goes for it.
“You know, rescuing a damsel in distress is something right out of a fairy tale, Vincent. If you’re not careful, I might think you’re a knight in shining armor.”
With a deep sigh, he turns and walks away from me, pausing with his back to me at the door to a hallway. “I’m nobody’s hero, princess. And this isn’t a fairy tale.”

I loved Belle and Vincent together. Belle may be sweet and a little naive about some things, but she has a lot of growth in this book, and I loved seeing that. I also loved all the information she randomly spouted out all the time. I absolutely adored Vincent. He can be broody, grouchy, and mercurial, but he has his reasons. Underneath it all, he has a big heart. It was great finding out more about his past, and seeing his secrets come to light. Even though Belle and Vincent seemed like they didn't belong together, they were a perfect match!

Tara Sivec has really outdone herself with this series. I haven't had so much fun reading in the longest time. In Bed with the Beast is hilarious, heartwarming, sexy, and entertaining as all get out! I recommend these books to anyone looking for a good time. I can't wait for Ariel's book! She makes me laugh more than anyone in these books!

“Oh, my God,” I whisper, my thighs clenching...
“My name’s Vincent. But you can yell whatever you want tonight.”

Oh beast. *heart eyes emoji*

Man do I love me those broody bearded types. And it just doesn't get any broodier than beast aka Vincent. The silent and grumpy security guard at Charming. If you've already read At the Stroke of Midnight, then you've already seen the awkwardly hilarious first encounter between him and Belle. And if you haven't, no worries, because you won't have any trouble reading this as a standalone. However, I still highly recommend book one simply because it's freaking AWESOME! But I digress.

Belle is the shy and awkward one of the three girlfriends. She has a tendency to sprout random weird facts when she feels awkward, and that's quite common. I also couldn't get enough of her adorably quirky personality. After living in her father's basement for far too long, this shy librarian is finally ready to take life by the horns. First thing? Book her first stripper event so she can help save her financially struggling beloved library in which she works. Too bad her experience with men of the non fictional variety is entirely too limited. So what's a girl to do? Enlist the help of the silent, broody one that seems to be hounding her every step lately.

One of my favorite things about this series is most definitely the banter and the friendship that Belle shares with Ariel and Cindy. I don't think I'll ever get enough of Cindy's loud mouth and balls to the wall personality. That girl brings each page she appears on to life. She's truly my spirit animal.
I usually pair this dress with a colorful cardigan sweater and a pair of ballet flats in the same color as the sweater,” I complain, shifting from foot to foot in the heels she made me put on.
“If you ever put a cardigan on again I will punch you in the throat. Also, if you ever use a safety pin to close the neckline of one of your dresses again, I’ll stab you in the eye with it.”

Vincent was deliciously broody. With a painful history, he's withdrawn completely into himself. But little does he know that a quirky librarian will help him see the light of things.

In Bed With The Beast was a delicious slow burn full of heart and humor. I absolutely adored Belle and Beast together. Watching his heart slowly melt and as he unwillingly falls harder and harder for Belle was entirely satisfying. I'm seriously hooked on this series, but I'm pretty sure I'd part with an ovary to get my hands on Ariel's book. That set up screams awesome and I absolutely cannot wait to read her book!

Oops she did it again! Another fabulous book from Tara Sivec... this is the second book in the Naughty Princess Series, but it can be read as a standalone... however I would encourage you to read them all, they are filled with so much laughter and love....

Belle has lead a pretty sheltered life until she becomes friends with Cindy and Ariel... The three ladies bond over man troubles and money problems and decide to form Naughty Princesses...Belle has a tremendous love of books and loves her job as a librarian.... however the library is in some financial trouble, so Belle wants to earn some extra money working for the newly formed company.... The problem? Can innocent Belle pull off a striptease?

Beast a.k.a. Vince is a quiet hunk of a man, who is there to rescue Belle when her dad kicks her out of the house.... The romance between Beast and Belle was sooo adorable! I loved seeing Beast come out of his shell and Belle get a little sassy.... so many laugh out loud moments... especially when the three girls get together... Love the friendship between the three of them, well I pretty much love everything about this book and series... can’t wait for the next one, because Ariel is my fave!

A fun retelling of Beauty and the Beast, with a naughty twist...

*** many thanks to the publisher for my copy of this book ***

This book started off really good but around halfway through I just started to get bored, and I ended up skimming the last half of it. Belle and her friends acted and spoke like a bunch of teenagers. Since we never get any of Vincent's POV, he just came across like a one-dimensional cardboard cutout. I didn't feel any real connection between Vincent or Belle. Not to mention she spends the first half of the book going on one blind date after the other.

Also, the fact that these heroines are strippers and their heroes are A-OK with them taking their clothes off for other men kind of bothered me. I have NO idea why it bothered me in this instance since I read books with sharing etc. and am not bothered by it, but here it annoyed me a lot. There is also only one sex scene very late in the book, so that was disappointing as well. That said, I did love Belle's father, and it did have a few laugh out loud moments. But all in all, it just wasn't my cup of tea, and I won't be bothering with the next book.

I gotta admit. These books are just pure fluffy fun. I love em. I'm not even crazy about the story of "Beauty and the Beast" and I still had a really good time with this one.

We met Belle back in book one of this series At the Stroke of Midnight. She is the nerdy, bookwormish character who spouts out random facts and lives in her father's basement. She and her father have an argument over her new friends. (Friends that have started a naughty princess stripping business) and he kicks her out. She is staying at her library and sleeping on the hard floor. But Belle loves her books so she gives no craps.

Until she finds out that her library might close it's doors. She agrees to move in with sexy dude from the strip club that everyone calls Beast. He can help her develop her sexy times and she can save the money. She needs to be able to work up the nerve to start stripping.
Because....

She wants her happily ever after because Belle believes in the magic that she reads in romance novels.

Okay..so yes, the book is pretty sugary sweet. It's also pretty funny in spots. The take on Mrs. Potts is frigging awesomeness.

In Bed with the Beast by Tara Sivec is the second book in the Naughty Princess Club romantic comedy series. While each book in this series features a separate couple and could be understood as a standalone I’d highly suggest picking them up from the beginning to get the full story and all of the laughs.

The first book of this series, At the Stroke of Midnight, introduced all three of the female leads in the series as they came together and became friends. The trio couldn’t be more opposite of one another with Cindy being an uptight recent divorcee, Belle the nerdy and shy librarian and Ariel the wild, crazy and outspoken one. The ladies had shown up at a function all wearing princess costumes and were offered a job working a party. Thinking children’s party they hastily agreed since all were in need of money but little did they know it was definitely adult and they were expected to strip. After running like crazy they rethought their retreat and came up with the idea to form their new business the Naughty Princess Club.

The fun part of this series is that these ladies are loosely based on the fairy tale princesses and now in this second installment it is Belle’s turn to find her happiness and learn to shake her booty. Belle is finding her voice and standing up for herself now after forming her friendship with the other ladies but that gets her tossed out of her father’s home when she stands up to him. With nowhere to go she sets up camp in the library until the brooding bouncer Vincent “Beast” Adams comes to her rescue and offers her a place to stay.

I honestly don’t know if I have the words to express how much I love this series. Tara Sivec has written the perfect combination of humor, sexiness and added a dash of creativity with the fairy tale twist. But not only do I laugh all throughout and my Kindle may get a little steamy but she’s given an underlying message of female empowerment showing her characters growing and maturing to be able to take care of themselves before beginning their relationships. And it didn’t hurt in the least little bit that this installment reminded me of Jay Ryan playing the beast on the television series based on Beauty and the Beast… yum.

When I found my early copy of In Bed with the Beast waiting for me in my mail I was beyond excited and hoped it would be as much fun as the first book. When finished now I can honestly say it certainly was if not even more so. I am definitely anxiously awaiting to read Ariel’s story in the next installment of this series now and recommend these to any romantic comedy fans out there.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

In this quirky romantic comedy “Beauty and the Beast” retelling featuring a trio of girlfriends who due to financial constraints decide to open a business doing exotic dancing at parties, Belle finds herself kicked out of her house by her father for wanting to have friends, and her job at the library is in jeopardy. When “Beast” the bouncer at Charming discovers she’s been sleeping on the library floor, he offers her his spare room. Funny rom com voice and a spoof on many of the Disney characters, for fans of fairy tales. I’m always on the hunt for fun fairy tale retellings, and this was a hoot!

This is my third book by Tara Sivec, and I just don't think her particular brand of humor is for me. I really wanted to like this cute, light story that loosely follows Beauty and the Beast, but most of the jokes fell flat.

Belle is the type of heroine that I don't typically enjoy. She is 25 but acts like a petulant preteen, and she is supposed to be charmingly spastic and socially unaware, but she comes across as immature. I found her spouting of random facts to be sort of... puzzling.

I also didn't love how she treated Vincent, who was clearly enamored with her from the start. She was inconsiderate on multiple fronts, and invaded his privacy more than once, though Vincent himself was no angel. I found his stalking to be borderline obsessive and, frankly, unappealing.

What I enjoyed about the story was the ways that Tara Sivec tied in Beauty and the Beast. It was clever and witty, and I enjoyed all the hidden ways that the stories aligned. I also enjoyed how light the story was. It was a break from all of my heavier reads, and I dug the escapism aspect.

I don't think the stripping princess theme appealed to me as much as it will to some readers. At times, I felt the story was trying too hard to be funny and too hard to be sexy, neither of which quite landed with my particular tastes. However, I think if you are a long-time Tara Sivec fan, you will be pleased with this one.

3.5 A Spread Your Wings and Fly Stars
* * * 1/2 Spoiler Free-It's Live!!!
A Naughty take on Beauty and The Beast with an arrested development librarian fighting an over protective father for control of her own life She crosses paths with a big beast of a man who talks with few words and is the bouncer of a strip club. But still waters run deep and neither of these people are what the other assumes them to be.

This is the second entry to Naughty Princess Club series. It is based on 3 women who were either cheated on or betrayed, no longer married or in Belle's case a bit isolated. In the first book, they all had dressed up for a community event as Disney princesses and were mistaken as dancers for a bachelor's party. Big confusion, they ran out but not without meeting the man in charge of the local strip club. From watching how the strippers made so much money doing parties and such, these 3 women banded together and created the business Naughty Princess. One of the women found love with the strip club owner. All the women call the bouncer The Beast because of how huge he is and because he is kinda scary.

The story unfolds with Belle getting into a fight with her demanding father after returning from a party. She had to sneak out at 25 feeling like she was 13 fighting a curfew. The father trash talks her new friends and with that being the last straw, she packs up and leaves.

Belle doesn't want to bother her new friends because one is in love and "busy" with him while the other mentions she has a new roommate moving in, so there goes the possibility of her spare bedroom. The only answer for Belle is where she feels the most comfortable and at home any way... The Library.

Belle starts to live at the library... she sleeps on the hard floor with just a blanket and somehow she is making everything work the best she can. She loves the place and has been using the extra money with the new business venture with the girls to help keep it flourishing. The city has cut funding and she has been trying to cover the difference so all the children can continue to come.

Belle is tired and feeling exhausted. Sleeping at the library isn't all that and a bag of chips...it is hard on the body. She is at the desk, in walks The Beast! What is he doing here. He sits down and pulls out a book and starts reading it. It just seems so out of place for this mountain of a man to be right in front of her like that. He stays in the branch until closing and then leaves.

This keeps happening again and again...and soon they have a few very brief conversations. Each time the Beast asks to drive her home at closing and each time she turns him down saying she still has work to do.

Finally, the Beast let's it be known he is not having it. He is not allowing her to go home in the dead of night, he is not having her sleep in the library...WHAT!!! How did he know that...

It seems Beast knows a lot about Belle and has been watching when he can as to what she is not doing at night... She is not leaving at all. This is not right and he will make it stop. He decides to take matters into his own hands and confronts Belle.

Belle cannot breathe... Here is this man she really doesn't know a lot about and he is making her come with him to his house...out in the middle of no where. Belle actually is confused; her mind tells her she should be scared and not go... but her body and heart is telling her, he is someone unique and maybe caring in a way...he offering his spare bedroom for her to use.

This tale is full of slow burn between the Beast and Belle... and also includes the characters from the first book. There is learning how to strip and be sensual lessons for Belle as she feels she needs to pull her weight in the business. There is the possessiveness Beast feels for Belle and their learning about each other. There is also the sub-plot about funding for the library.

This is part of a series so there is another friend who needs to find her love match, too.

***IT'S ALIVE!!***

Owner of a nerdy heart…

4.5 Stars

I love it when the nerd wins her man…beast…man…beast…man, with beast attributes. Deep down, I can admit that I’m a little nerdy. Yes, I wear glasses. Yes, I would prefer to be reading than conversing. Yes, I would say that being surrounded by books is my happy place. Obviously, these are not things that “identify” a nerd, but I’d say it would be a pretty good definition of a book nerd. So, when I get to read a story where the book nerdy girl gets the guy, I may do a wee bit of a happy dance. When the book nerdy girl gets a growly, possessive, bossy and HOT guy, well, I feel like doing a Rocky, hands in the air, victory dance (feel, not do, my boys can only put up with so much embarrassment).

To be honest, I wasn’t sure how In Bed with the Beast would go. Our little nerdy chickadee isn’t just some glasses wearing book nerd, she’s a daddy’s girl.

***OMG!! Just stop for a sec…how weird is it that a Mummy’s boy has such different connotations to a Daddy’s girl. Smutty reading world, what have you done to me? Why do I feel a little dirty writing that? All I can think about is kinky stuff. THIS WAS NOT KINKY STUFF!!***

Anyways…So, a grown woman of 25 who climbs into her room through a window because she doesn’t want to get caught by her dad, is not someone I see stripping for money. How on earth was Tara Sivec going to convince me that a nerdy girl, who’s shy, sweet and almost virginal, can be transformed into a confident stripper? Well, Belle didn’t just have to convince me, she also had her work cut out for her convincing her fellow Naughty Princesses too.

I loved the progression of this story, as we get to see each step of Belle’s adventure. Becoming a Naughty Princess isn’t just about becoming a stripper. It’s about gaining confidence in yourself, trusting your instincts and stepping out of your comfort zone. Belle isn’t doing all this just to put money in her pocket, she’s determined to keep her dreams alive. If stripping makes it possible to keep the doors open to her dream career, well, that’s just what she’ll do.

Now, the love story…OH Boy!! I LOVED getting to know Beast (I know his real name but I’m not telling because it may take away a little of his “Beastly” vibe). Again, I wasn’t sure what I’d find when I got to know Beast a little better. What I got, was a man that made my heart flutter…who then stomped on my dreams…but, then, well he made my little old heart sing in the end. Look, he warned me…I mean Belle, that he wasn’t a fairytale, but would I…I mean Belle, listen? NOOOO! Oh well, nobody’s perfect, it’s just a good thing that he growls REAL GOOD.

I LOVE this series. Tara Sivec has a knack for making things unreal seem real and possible. There are Prince Charming’s, Beasts and magic makers out there. Sometimes, they’ll drop into your world when you least expect it, sweep you off your feet, push you up against a wall and bang…there goes my kinky mind again.

I thoroughly enjoyed Belle and her Beast’s journey in, In Bed with the Beast. All of my feelings were involved in their journey towards a happily ever after.

If you haven’t started the Naughty Princess series, I suggest you get right onto it. Ariel’s up next and I can’t wait for her to get Kissed.

Isabelle Marie Reading is a beautiful, sweet, innocent 25 yr. old woman still living at home with her overprotective father. She’s always been a shy, quiet bookworm. She’s a librarian who runs the local library that’s on the verge of shutting down. The library is like home to her, and is her safe haven. It’s going to soon close if she doesn’t come up with a way to raise money.

Until recently all Belle’s friends were fictional. Then she met Ariel & Cindy, and they started a business called The Naughty Princess Club. She’s been in charge of the administrative side, but soon wants to spread her wings and have some fun and adventure in her life. She wants excitement, and experience with the opposite sex. She also wants the fairy tale. She’s ready to take control of her life and stop living only through the characters in her books.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Belle’s father isn’t on board with the changes she’s making in her life. He doesn’t approve of her new girl squad, and they get in a huge fight. She’s suddenly homeless and on her own. She’s shown kindness from the most unlikely person, Vincent “Beast” Adams. Beast is a bouncer at a friends club, and reminds her of Thor and the Hulk wrapped up in one. He’s one of the hottest most annoying men she’s ever met, and the only person she’s ever clashed with. He offers her his spare room when he learns she has nowhere to go. Since she’s in desperate need of somewhere to stay she accepts. She’s finally free to make her own decisions, and live her life to the fullest.

Vincent is intrigued by this sexy, nerdy librarian who constantly rambles and spouts useless facts. She’s a bit odd, but extremely genuine and real. He finds her stunning inside & out, and wants to know her better. As he grows closer with Belle, will secrets destroy their new relationship?

-I'm a romantic. I want to be wooed like the heroines I've been reading about for years. I want a man who will sweep me off my feet with an over-the-top romantic gesture. I want sweet, flowery words, filled with emotion and meaning.

-After years and years of reading about first kisses in books, I now realize they are absolutely nothing like the real thing. Nothing I've ever experienced in my life compares to the way Vincent kisses me.

-I'm finally experiencing real life instead of just reading about it.

-He's so much better than any hero I've ever read in any book, and the best part is, he's mine and he's real.

I loved book two in The Naughty Princess Club. It was as laugh out loud funny as the first book, and full of girl power. The three friends share a special bond, and are all strong, confident women. I adored the Beast, and thought this story was absolutely fabulous! A sizzling hot, flirty, fun read! Can’t wait for Ariel’s HEA up next!

5 - "You're so weird..." Stars!

The second book in Tara Sivec’s Naughty Princess Club series, gives us her take on my favorite fairy-tales of all, and In Bed with the Beast was a joy to read, from start to finish.

I hold up my hand in shame and say it’s been a long while since I have read anything from this author, and after reading the opening chapter of this one I was literally kicking myself for leaving it so long. Needless to say I absolutely adored Belle and Vincent’s Story.

I want the fairy tale… I can’t exactly figure out how to get it.

Belle has a lot to contend with at this point in her life, her beloved Library is under threat of closure, her love-life is deader than most of the authors of the books in said library, and she is still living in the basement of her father’s house. Being in your twenties and having to sneak in through the window after a night out is so not the worldly woman image she wishes she could project. Especially when upon getting caught by her father she’s given an ultimatum, one that ends up with her homeless and sleeping on the floor in the aforementioned library.

"I’m not a fairy tale kind of guy… but I’d like the chance to see where this thing between us can go…"

Enter Beast (aka Vincent), bouncer at Gentleman’s Club Charmings owned by PJ, love interest of one of her best friends; Cindy. Having clocked that she’s living illicitly in the library after hours it doesn’t take him long in getting her under his roof and sleeping in his spare room.

Good grief, even in my head I can’t be sexy and flirty…

But nerd-girl Belle is still determined to resuscitate her love life, and asks him to help her become sexy and flirty for the men she’s planning to meet from the online dating site she’s registered with. Add to that she’s trying to get her sexy on in order to help her friends get their new Princess Stripping business off the ground and this girl that is firmly stepping way, way out of her comfort zone in all areas of her life.

"If you’re not careful… I might think you’re a knight in shining armor."

Hands-down Vincent is probably one of the best Heroes I have read this year. Gruff, growly, strong, silent, and absolutely adorable, you learn that there is more to this guy as the book progresses, more as a result of the inept attempts of her friends Cindy and Ariel to get her out into the dating scene, and to find out more about him on the sly than anything.

"You talk a lot."

I loved how he went out of his way to make sure Belle was safe, even if she didn’t know he was involved at the time, and the often comedic results of it. Her over reaction to his responses in regards to the walking disasters she goes on dates with versus his cool, calm, stoicism were just a perfect balance. And the fact he wasn’t trying to be funny made him even more adorable.

"This was never a game for me."

As I said I loved this book, I am going to read its predecessor ASAP, and I am looking forward to getting my hands on Ariels book; Kiss the Girl when it releases in September.

➳The fantasy of finding your true prince charming, this romance novel brings humor to the level of persuasion and an addiction to Vincent and Belle...

➳I think I have just found yet another author who has made me laugh through the genre of rom-coms. Not a lot of authors are able to achieve such a thing, since my humor is at its minimum right now so I'm glad I was able to thoroughly enjoy this novel by Tara Sivec. I'm keeping this review short and sweet because I honestly did enjoy this novel. Vincent is the ideal alpha male in a romance novel that I always look for. To me, his attitude is a true turn on, and the fact that him and Belle are two different characters in the persona category, makes me love him even more. He is a rugged individual in the aspect of not having any sort of charisma, but he lets his guard down when he is with Belle and I utterly love that the most. His true colors and his past struggles are one that make me want to comfort him because he is a beast, but a beast with a broken heart that needs mending.

➳Thank you to the wonderful team at SMP for giving me an advance copy of this novel, I'm actually excited to start the first book sometime this year as I did not have the chance to read it just yet. If it's as fun as this one then I am going to hopefully love it as well!

I’m nobody’s hero princess. And this isn’t a fairytale.”

Tara Sivec is on a roll with this series!!! I wasn’t disappointed with the first book and I sure as heck didn’t feel that way about this one. If anything, I think I fell in love with these characters even more if that’s possible. I’m beyond wrapped up in this fairytale and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect ending for this one.

I’m going to keep this review short and sweet. I loved the premise of the story and I think that the author did a wonderful job staying true to her originality with her humor, full on wittiness, and likable characters. Belle was the awkward nerdy girl with glasses who unbeknownst to her, was a knockout. Her life was sheltered due to an overbearing father and lack of friends but now that she’s met two of the most incredible women and formed a sisterhood for life, she’s now come into her own. Well sort of.. What happens when she comes face to face with a beast of her own?

This was a wonderful addition to the Naughty princess club series and I can’t wait for Ariel’s book! That chick bypasses her medicine so I know we’re in for one heck of a ride with her. If you’re looking for a hilarious series with a fairytale theme, this one is most definitely for you.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a book by Tara Sivec, but from what I remembered, I thoroughly enjoyed each experience. This read was no different. In Bed with the Beast was a hilarious tale loosely based on Beauty and the Beast that tackled a woman’s growth and development into self-sufficiency and independence. It told a story of kindness and charity, of funny hijinks and antics, of the bond found with family and friends, of the intricacies of interpersonal relationships, and of faith in happily ever afters. There was romance, drama, and laughs to be found in its pages. I had a blast reading it!

I could tell that I could become a huge fan of Vincent and was begging to get his perspective. I couldn’t really connect with his character and I needed him to counteract the effects that Belle had on me. Every time she doubted his feelings or motives, I wanted to shake her for ignoring the obvious. In so many big and small ways, Vincent showed her his intentions and how very much he cared for her. It hurt so much when she would disregard this or treat him disrespectfully. Hello! You had no place to go, he gave you a home, and you are being unappreciative. RUDE!! I really liked that these characters, despite their immense attraction, didn’t just jump into bed. They were able to grow beyond the physical and got to really know each other. It made their relationship that much more special.

If you’re looking for a good laugh while watching someone try to sabotage their chances at everlasting love, you won’t want to miss this!

Omg! What a fun, sweet romcom!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know I’ve read books by Tara Sivec before so when I saw this new one coming out, I definitely knew I had to check it out.
With a nod towards the classic story of Beauty and the Beast, this book was very humorous. Almost written with the tongue in cheek type of humor, you can’t help but fall for both of the characters in this book.
On one hand you have Beauty, who is a nerdy, weird, almost virgin who has been completely sheltered by her father. Plus, she has two completely wacky friends that push her to do better. Which is a good thing.
On the other hand you have the Beast. A big hunk of a man, who is quiet yet has that mysterious air and sexiness about him. Definitely not what you expect.
And when the two combine, there is a load of sexual tension, uncomfortable situations, humorous connections, and then downright steaming sex.
This book is a riot to read. Lighthearted and funny, weird - almost painfully weird at times. It almost makes you almost feel sorry for her. But when they finally get it all figured out, so worth it!
Tara has written a book that you are going to love! A funny romcom that will leave you smiling for a long time to come.
This book was perfection!!!
I was recommended At The Stroke OF Midnight by my friend Rhonda when I was looking for a fun, quick, rom-com style book to read that evening. I remember her asking me if i've ever read Tara Sivec before and when I said "No" her response was priceless. After that I had to see what all the fuss was about. Surely ive been missing out on something great, if she came at me like that, so I went ahead and one clicked ATSOM. Let me just say that I get it now. She had every reason to come at me, Tara Sivec is phenomenal and an automatic one click for me. Thank you Rhonda!! Im forever grateful for your recommendtions, oh, wise one 🙌🙌🙌
If you've read ATSOM then I wont need to go into specifics about the secondary characters, and if you havent? Why TF are you here? Stop what you're doing and go one-click it NOW!!!!!
Isabelle "Belle" was introduced in the first book as well as Beast. Beauty And The Beast being my favorite fairytale retelling I was extremely excited for this book!
I had already Pre Ordered this book as well as Ariel's (releases in Sept) but I was beyond lucky to have received an ARC for review!!!! Eeeeekk!!!
I cleared my schedule and jumped right in! This book was PERFECTION!!!! It exceeded my expectation, is better than the first book and is now my favorite Beauty And The Beast Retelling ever!!!!
I love how natural the intregation of the fairytale elements can be found in this modern day story and Tara never fails to make me bust out laughing every damn time. I know by now not to be drinking anything while reading her books but I guess I never learn my lesson cause I always end up spewing coffee or water all over myself *face palm* I kid you not, Tara Sivecs humor is one of a kind and my perfect cup of tea.
I really dont want to go further into this story cause then I will spoil it with my big mouth and that would be BLASPHEMY!
Just trust me when I say you gotta read it!!
"You know, rescuing a damsel in distress is something right out of a fairy tale, Vincent. If you're not careful, I might think you're a knight in shining armor."
"I'm nobody's hero, princess. And this isn't a fairy tale."
I was invited to read this title and since I've always wanted to read some material by this author, i just grab the opportunity...
And it was a very good decision, i can say!!!
God, this was so damn funny and at times, i can say surreal... And i had such a great time reading it!!!
I think i want more and more...
I have to admit that i haven't read the first book of 'The Naughty Princess club" series YET, but even though that i took some hints about it, it was easy to follow the storyline of the second book...
To be totally honest with you, The Naughty Princess club was a little bit surreal...
Three women decided to form this club, a business, which was about them being strippers!!!
Yep, you heard right!!! It was weird in a way, but it was also hillarious...
This book was about Isabelle, a shy sheltered librarian, whom join this club was the most exciting thing in her whole life... Isabelle's goal is to earn enough money from this job for saving her library... The only problem is that she hasn't decide yet to start dancing... LOL
Unfortunately, this new friendship with the other two members of the club, Ariel and Cynthia, cost her her home and her father, who kicked her out of his house...
Now, Belle is desperate and she had to trust Beast, a man that she is not very sure that she liked...
Beast is kind of an enigma and he is very broody and silent, but Belle is making him wild in many ways... He agreed to let her live in his house and the problems are starting...
He just have some rules for her to follow, especially the one with the sealed room, but Isabelle is refusing to follow his rules...
At the same time, she is asking him to help her to be more confident and sexy in order to start dancing and earning the money that she needs so desperately...
So, what will happen with those two when they are so opposite from each other???
Will shy Belle tame the Beast???
"I'm not a happily-ever-after guy, princess."
God, i loved Belle so damn much!!! She was so innocent and easygoing, but at the same time, especially toward Vincent, she was a wild cat who was refusing to let others to put her down... She was also hillarious... I was laughing so hard with her daily adventures!!!!
Belle was a romantic too... She was expecting her knight in shining armor to shake her world!!!
But Beast was far away from this concept!!!
I also loved Vincent very much... I loved his grunts and growls... I loved how protective he was of Belle, even though that he didn't want to show it... I loved the little things that he was doing for her... And i loved that he was more than he was showing... even though to be true with you, his former self looked a little bit unreal in comparison with who he was at the present...
Well, except Vincent and Belle, there were also so many funny and interesting characters in here...
First of all, i adored Mrs. Potter!!! God, this woman was hillarious!!! I just loved her crazy old ass!!!
Secondly, i liked very much Belle's father... He was a little bit crazy too!!!
The other two members of the club, Cynthia and Ariel were crazy too, and I'm very curious about Ariel's turn!!!
I also liked very much Belle's dates... I laughed so damn hard with those unreal guys!!! Bahahaha
And PJ's reaction in Belle's first lap dance cracked me up!!!
As you can understand, i can not wait for the sequel!!! LOL
Finally back with our three fairy tale strippers!
Well, Cindy is the only stripper so far. But now it's time for Belle's story.
Remember her? The shy, 25 year old librarian who is still living with her overprotective dad.
But he kind of throws her out after finding out that she's one of those riffraff hookers! LOL!
And after sleeping in her beloved library for a few nights, Beast, the bouncer from the strip-club takes her home with him.
Belle already had a huge crush on Beast in the first book and now she's LIVING WITH HIM!!!
But she's so unexperienced and shy. And he's so silent and grunty and secretive.
She needs to learn how to flirt with guys. And she finally needs to start stripping if she wants to save her library!
What will happen with Belle & Beast??
Will we get a happily ever after??
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺
LOL!
The second book was just as adorably funny as the first one!
Those three chicks are hilarious! Ariel, the antique dealer with absolutely NO filter. The prude housewife Cindy. Innocent librarian Belle. They SO don't fit together as best friends, but it works perfectly.
And sexy beast. He's just what Belle needs in her life. They're perfect for each other. But there's a lot of stuff to overcome until we can ride off into our happily ever after sunset together!
I just loved reading this book!
Absolutely hilarious and adorable and sweet. I just adore this group of people!
And I loved the moments with Belle's dad! (Not the moments at the beginning - the later ones!)
I SO need Netflix to come and make a show out of this series! ☺
I'm a tiny little disappointed about Belle's mega-typical reaction and action when the 'thing', the 'reveal' happens towards the end. Why can't there be something a bit more original in books? Almost every single book uses this stupid reaction. I want something creative and new and fun and moving and unexpected! BUT - I still realllly loved the book and the people and the story and everything!
IN BED WITH THE BEAST was such a hilarious & sexy & adorable RomCom! Run to your nearest amazon asap - you need to meet these ladies! And Beast of course ... but HANDS OFF ... he's MINE!☺
.... and now hurry - I need to read Ariel's & Eric's story asap! ☺
In Bed with the Beast is a standalone is part of the Naughty Princess Club. This is a loose fairy tale of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. The character’s name are actually Beast and Belle which I find really cute. Okay it’s their nick names, but still cute.
Belle lives with her over protective dad, but she wants more to life. She wants to save her library and the only thing she can think of is stripping. This plan was hashed out in the first book, but don’t worry, the author explains the situation fairly quickly.
The book started out with a bang and I read 30% of the book before I even knew it. I was just hooked and laughing out loud. I love the banter between Beast (Vincent) and Belle. Vincent works at the strip club as the bouncer and he doesn’t speak much, but he has taken an interest in Belle.
What drew me into this book is that the characters are complete opposites attract. Belle is the nerdy book worm with little experience and Beast is this big large person that usually roars when something upsets him.
I liked this one a little bit more than the first book only because I felt like there was more interaction between Belle and Beast. The girlfriend dynamics is still there and you will get plenty of Cindy and Ariel action.
As Belle is trying to find herself, she’s so awkward and bookish but you can’t help but want to hug her, even though she takes notes on everything. Beast is a bit mysterious and you are just rooting for him to make a move on Belle.
Overall, it was a funny treat and if you are a fan of the series you won’t be disappointed.
Hot dang if The Naughty Princess Club series isn’t proving to be consistently delightful. In Bed With the Beast isn’t as laugh out loud funny as At the Stroke of Midnight, but it is undoubtedly humorous and every bit as entertaining.
Belle is a librarian who is struggling to keep her beloved library open. At 25-years-old, she also wants to stop living in her overbearing father’s basement. Sadly, money is tight. Her potential knight in shining armor comes in the unlikely form of a formidable strip club bouncer known as Beast (aka Vincent).
Similar to her Disney counterpoint, books comfort Belle and she yearns for the happily ever after promised in romance novels. Her inexperience with men and shyness are pretty big roadblocks to this and major part of the plot. In order to succeed in her risqué business venture with Cindy and Ariel, she needs to become more confident in her sexuality. Involving Vincent in her plan proves to be awkward and amusing. She is so sweet, and I love the endearing way Belle word vomits random facts when she is nervous. The fact that she isn’t remotely afraid of Vincent when everyone else around him is comes as a nice surprise. I found a new best friend in Mrs. Potter, the randy elderly librarian.
Most of the laugh-out-loud comedy comes from interactions with Ariel, who is freaking hilarious! She’s not in this book as much as I’d like, but that only makes me more eager for her story, Kiss the Girl.
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Actual Rating: 5 stars
I LOVED this book. It's laugh out loud HILARIOUS, fun, and romantic. Tara Sivec always manages to make me smile and giggle which is why I always read her books without question. This book does EXACTLY that and more. If you are not familiar with the series, you should know that each book CAN standalone, even though they are interconnected. Characters from the previous novel and the one coming after this one are a part of the story, but the main characters have their own romances. So, while I would recommend reading them in order because you would get a better feel for the concept of the series and the characters, you don't have to. Although if you want to know how the Naughty Princess Club started, then you would need to read the At the Stroke of Midnight (https://amzn.to/2HXtTfV) first. Anyway, In Bed with the Beast is the epitome of the romantic comedy genre. I can't tell you how many times I laughed out loud because it was basically non stop. These characters, the things they say, the way they handle themselves, and the hijinks they get into are PRICELESS . You honestly need to read it. It's so damn good!
The Naughty Princess Club is the brainchild of three women who have been having financial problems. If you want to know about these then I suggest reading At the Stoke of Midnight. Normally, grown women with money troubles will band together, talk about their problems, and then go out and find jobs to make ends meet. But just making ends meet is NOT what these women want. They want the good life and to have that, you need money. So instead of beating themselves down they decide to start this club. But, it's not ordinary club... Because their way of making money is to STRIP.
How does Tara come up with these concepts? They are downright original! Who would have thought I would love a story about strippers and wanna-be strippers??!??! But this book is too good to pass up. Don't worry, it's not a dirty erotic type of stripping where the ladies are money hungry and looking for all sorts of handouts. These are normal, everyday women, looking to make their lives better.
In this one, readers will get Belle and Beast's story (sounds familiar right?). Belle is the local librarian who has been stuck living in her dads basement. Unfortunately, this isn't her only problem as the library board wants to shut down her library, taking all her hard work away from her. The only way she can save it is with money. And how can she get money fast? Doing the thang for the Naughty Princess Club!
Beast is just like the beast from the fairy-tale. He's dark, broody, and not looking for any sort of love or relationship. But when he invites Belle to live with him, he starts to get feelings he didn't think were possible underneath his cold exterior. And things become hot and heavy! Too bad Beast is hiding a teeny little secret- one that could take away both of their happily ever afters.
Friends, bookworms, and anyone who needs a good laugh NEED this book. I feel bad that it doesn't come out until June, but it's worth the preorder. As I mentioned before, this book is HILARIOUS. I can't remember the last time I giggled like this and was able to also fall head over heels with the characters. So make sure to grab your copy!!!
"...there's nothing more rewarding than the risk of falling in love. Sometimes you hit a few roadblocks along the way, but it's always worth it in the end."
Tara Sivec's unique blend of romance, humor, and lovable characters is one that I don't think I will ever get tired of reading. In Bed with the Beast was an adorably funny slow burn romance with a fairy tale twist. The kind of story that will blow your heart and make you pee your pants.
One of my favorite things about this book—this series, is the friendship between the girls. Their banter is full of wittiness and heart. Tara Sivec managed to bring humor to any love story, fighting or awkward situation.
In Bed with the Beast was a wonderful addition to the Naughty Princess Club, and as much as I enjoyed it, I have to say that I loved the first one more. I think it was because I was dying to read Vincent POV and I didn't get it.
If you haven't started reading this series, get on it ASAP! Ariel's up next and believe me when I say that you don't want to miss her story. Watch your back, Eric!
All the books are standalone so, while I would recommend to read them in order, to get the full fairy tale experience, you don't have to do it.
Full of girl power, salty dialogue, awkward scenes, and just downright funny. You can't go wrong with Tara! A total must-read for any rom-com lover.
I love any kind of fairy tale retelling and I especially love one based on Beauty and the Beast. This book did not disappoint.
Belle is a bookworm who spouts random facts out at any given time. She’s never lived on her own, never been in a relationship and she has never had any friends. Now, she’s been booted out of her father’s basement, running a business with her two new best friends and is falling hard for Beast.
I love a growly, grunting alpha hero and Beast/Vincent certainly lived up to that. He seemed to have Belle’s best interest at heart although he may have something going on that he’s keeping from her. We never get his point of view and I definitely missed having that. More so because he’s more of a growler than a talker causing the story to sometimes feel a little off balanced. I still enjoyed the heck out of this story though!
Belle was so freaking cute with her nervous habit of spouting off trivia that no one needed or wanted to know. And when it came time to seduce Beast she was a hot mess that just made me love her more. Cindy and Ariel, her friends, are both heavily involved in this story and I loved getting a glimpse of Cindy’s relationship with PJ all while growing more excited to read Ariel’s story.
This is a fast paced read with some heavy chemistry between the main characters along with fun and humorous scenes with the secondary characters. It offers a wonderful opportunity to escape the humdrums of day to day life and I loved every moment of it!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Isabelle Reading (heh - Belle the reader? Very cute) is a twenty five year old librarian who lives with her dad, her nose buried deep in a book, when she’s not awkwardly rattling off some random facts to cover her nervousness. She’s become friends with Cin (the heroine from the first book) and Ariel, and is working her way up to stripping to make some money to help keep her library open (just go with it). Now she just has to break free from oppressive overprotective hold of her father.
When she finally says “no mas,” her dad says ok, get the eff out. *blinks* Harsh, but when Vincent “Beast” Adams figures out what’s going on, he brings her to his home. Beast is the bouncer at Charming’s Gentlemen’s Club and he’s not the chattiest of Cathys, if you know what I’m saying. But he wants to help Belle...until he realizes her friends are trying to get her some experience with men before she starts stripping. Oh the madness. Hijinks ensue, and yep, you guessed it, romance happens.
description
The Good
-Beauty & The Beast inspired stripping rom? Yes please and thank you. Isabelle is adorable in the first book (her scene with the balloon Mis is great), and seeing the way Ms. Sivec has set up this ‘verse to be a crazy funhouse mirror to the classic fairy tales of Cinderella, Beauty & The Beast, and the Little Mermaid, you know the moment she meets Beast, that sparks are going to fly. Much like the first book, this is about the heroine’s journey, the way they learn to have confidence in themselves, to embrace their sexuality and the friendships that they form. I love that and it doesn’t hurt that it’s pretty damn fun.
The Bad(ish)
-Much the same as first, what doesn’t work is the same. It’s still first person POV, and if that’s your fave, this will probably not bother you. I just wanted some time in Vincent’s head or third person perspective, but that’s just my preference. The final obstacles haven’t quite worked, even if they serve their purpose to propel the story, I just think they’re not the strongest. And with this book, the only additional issue is that, in an effort to make this a standalone, there’s a bit of a flow stopping info dump in the beginning to catch the reader up.
Everything in Between
-I really do enjoy the humor and this ‘verse. It’s so fun, the characters have grown on me and Ariel? I’m coming for you girl. You are what I’ve been waiting for and I need her book in my life ASAP.
It’s hard to give the modern fairytale retelling a pass in my case—sucker that I am for all of spins and takes we can possibly have on them—which is why ‘In Bed with the Beast’ was one that I was eager to get my hands on.
In this case, it’s about a librarian and a bouncer, aka, Belle and the Beast, the supposedly shy librarian and the surly bouncer. Throw in the home stripping business that 3 women have started into the mix and I was beyond intrigued at this risqué proposition and take on the fairytale.
But this didn’t start off well for me, with characters generally behaving like hormonal tweens to the extent where I had to relook their ages. A smothered Belle, who was 25 and her father, who spoke like a man who’d regressed into childhood. Her friends, who didn’t behave much better, with exaggerated actions and reactions to every single thing you know can only appear in rom-coms and nowhere else.
In short, what I suspect was supposed to have been the book’s selling point—the craziness of the 3 good friends—grated on and fell flat for me. The humour and the liberal use of capital letters in the storytelling just made it feel a lot more juvenile than it should have been for characters well into their twenties: Belle’s hyperbolic inner monologues, the shrill petulance of her reactions, the spouting random facts just didn’t make me laugh at all; neither did the unbelievable antics of her 2 other friends which involved a bit of slapstick stuff and the overly dramatic behaviour that was more eye-rolling than funny.
In the end, I couldn’t find myself interested in these characters at all and only the mysterious, gruff Vincent Adams and his secret locked door kept me trudging (or skimming) on. But seeing as I couldn’t wait to get this over with, it’s clearly not the read for me.
Meh.
Soooo....
If you liked the first book, you'll like this one as well. If you didn't, well, you probably shouldn't even try to read this one.
Seriously, the characters were so similar it felt like reading about the same people just in different situations. Same vocabulary, same words, same reactions.
That's not necessarily a bad thing, if you liked the previous book. IF.
I kind of expected a bit more from this read, I thought that the characters have more potential. Well, maybe they did, but I can't say it was an amazing book (far from it, actually). It wasn't bad or anything, the writing was ok and the, overall, it was an average read.
