When I'm offered a job as the bar manager at the most exclusive club in Barcelona, I took it. I also knew it was in my best interest to keep my mouth shut and do as I'm told.
You see, the billionaire Russian mobsters who run the place were the kind of guys you didn’t want to know too much about anyways.
But I really needed the money, and I knew that as long as I ensured the customers were happy and I did my job, everything would be fine.
That is until Andrei came into the picture.
He was one of those Russian gangsters that ran the club, sexy and dangerous. A real bad boy who had gained quite the reputation around here as a ladies man, and now his attention was fixed on me.
The guy was bad news in a good suit, and I knew that giving in to him would be the worst idea I’ve ever had.
F**k me!
Andrei is a stand-alone novel with no cheating, a good dose of steam, and a happily ever after. I have also included a little bonus content for your enjoyment.
I read this book as part of an arc program. I enjoyed this book about Sarah, a college student attending grad school in Spain and working in a bar trying to make ends meet. The bar is owned by the Russian mob and the mob boss's nephew Andrei is sent to work in the bar after causing his uncle to lose a business deal. Andrei is quiet compared to his brothers, but is still a player. Andrei hates the punishment of working in the bar and can't wait until it ends and he can go back to partying and looking for women to sleep with. One night at the bar, a drunk customer tries to force himself on Sarah and Andrei intervenes. Andrei begins to spend time with Sarah and one night after closing, he makes his move. Then Andrei avoids Sarah, because he doesn't know how he feels about her. But when he learns she was evicted and has nowhere to live, he offers her a room at his house, no strings attached. I enjoyed this story about Andrei and Sarah. I liked how he was quiet and really liked Sarah but was unsure how to treat her. Good one.
“Andrei” is a short, excellent Mafia love story. Sarah is a grad student studying in Spain who manages a bar owned by the Russian Mafia. Andrei who is involved with the mob is the Mafia bosses nephew. After spending time together doing inventory, sparks begin to fly between Andrei and Sarah. Their attraction soon develops into a relationship they keep hidden. When Sarah is evicted from her apartment, Andrei comes to the rescue. Although not dark Mafia story, “Andrei” is a wonderfully written romance filled with drama, tension, some danger and lots of hot steamy sex. This must have book is definitely worth your time. This is the story of Sarah (an American) and Andrei (a Russian). While studying abroad in Spain, Sarah works at a bar to make ends meet. Andrei works for his Uncle Evgni, the local mob boss and owner of the Club where Sarah works. One night as a punishment Andrei is forced to do inventory with Sarah. A rival gang member has been bothering Sarah and tries to make a move on Sarah that she doesn't want. Andrei comes to her rescue. Things start to heat up between them. There are twists and turn, ups and downs, suspense, romance, angst, drama, set backs. Can their relationship survive? You need to read the book to find the answer to this and many other questions. I definitely recommend this book.
Customer Review 4.0 out of 5 starsAndrei's Forbidden Love Bysewsummoreon February 14, 2018 Andrei is a player, a member of the "Russian Mob" working for his uncle in Barcelona, he is attracted to the bar manager Sarah, an attraction that could have him sent back to Russia as his uncle does not agree with mixing business with pleasure. This is an interesting story with an open ending to lead into the next stage of their romance. With an unusual storyline which kept me interested until the end, I look forward to continue reading more about their romance.

This story takes place in Spain and mostly at a bar run by the Russian mob. Sara, an American student has taken a job there as a bartender because she really needs the money. She tries to stay to herself, but finds it hard with Andrei. Lots of drama, danger, a stalker and explosive chemistry. No spoiler here but a good romance that was fun to read. Well written with captivating characters and an interesting storyline. I read an advance reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.
A sexy story about Sarah who is a barmaid and lives with her friend and she gets evicted from where she lives. She is also a studying. She meets Andrei at the bar as he works there and for the mafia. They have sex at the bar and when he finds she needs somewhere to live he offers for her to stay there.
Its a wonderful story about a playboy who finds love when he wasnt expecting it. Aso about waitress who finds somewhere to live and finds love as well.
"I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."
I can't believe I managed to read all of these books in one day. But they were so easy to read and Andrei was no different. A story of love, Sarah who is working in a bar trying to make ends meet and Andrei comes to her rescue from a guy who has been bothering her. Their chemistry is electric. Again I really do not like their uncle, and haven't from the first book.
But I love that they all ignore his warnings and follow their hearts, even if it begins with their lust that leads them to their happiness. Another great read from Ava Bloom.
Bartender Sarah is in Barcelona on a student visa. She and her roommate are having trouble making rent and are going to be evicted. She has nowhere to go and breaks down in front of her boss’s nephew Andrei.
Andrei is a member of the local Russian mob. He’s a player and Sarah has caught his eye. When he learns of her predicament, he offers his spare room. Can a player have a soft heart towards a woman he wants?
Studying abroad and working for the local Russian Mob is the backdrop of this exciting story. Sarah is a grad student that works in a bar owned by the mob. She has caught the attention of Andrei the nephew of the Russian mob. One night doing inventory changes their relationship of these two delightful characters. Andrei is not your soft words and flowers kind of guy, but he is always there when she needs him.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Sarah, a grad student working at a club as a bartender meets Andrei, nephew of the mob boss who owns the club. The interaction between them was sweet and gentle. Andrei treated Sarah like a real gentleman. But no flowers, candy or love songs. A simple story, quick read. Wish it was longer. HFN ending.
This is a very quick Russian Mafia romance that I read in one sitting. The storyline is good and the characters have chemistry. More depth to the characters would help the reader engage with them. There is some steam and a little drama.

AN INTRIGUING READ!!! A well written, easy to follow short read that will captivate you from the very beginning with well fleshed out characters. With a wide range of emotions from failing, homeless, fear, future and steamy realistic hot scenes that you can feel the heat through the pages. Ava did an amazing job bringing this tale to life.
this was a sweet quick read that had some mafia plot but tons of sweet emotion, steamy scenes and great characters who grabbed you and pulled you into their story from the first page!

Andrei is the first of the Volkovs Mafia series, and I loved reading every page. This is the first Russian Mafia romance that I have read and enjoyed following Andrei and Sarah's story. I look forward to reading more from this series as well as from this author.
So this was just ok for me... I didn’t feel the characters had any chemistry but I think that was because it was all too fast. There were just huge chunks missing it felt like this was just a preview to a full story...
A short read and a quick read. Unfortunately for me, i wont be pursuing this series. After reading the description, I was expecting more. A whirlwind romance but left me wanting more depth. As per usual, no spoiling, as stated, author has provided a description.
A very short book but I loved the characters and storyline but wish it was longer. I am hoping that this is a taste of the relationship between Sarah, a grad student living in Barcelona and Andrei, the nephew of a Russian Mafia Boss. I feel like I just got invested in how things "might" turn out but as other reviewers said, it seemed to end abruptly. I look forward to future books by Ava Bloom especially if the writing is like Andrei.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
