I really enjoyed reading this book -- part adventure, part romance, and all hilarious!

Author West is such a gifted writer that I could see every scene in my head, unfolding like a movie. The characters were very entertaining, and I was really rooting for Wendell and Alicia to overcome all the obstacles and challenges and win in the end.

There were plenty of surprises in this wild ride of a novel, and there were super funny scenes that stayed with me and made me chuckle long after I finished the book. If you like comedy/thrillers, you should get this book!

I voluntarily received a copy of Chili Run in exchange for an honest review.

The characters are vivid and the story is very creative.  West has an uncanny ability to draw his reader into whatever scenario he is writing about.  This time around we met with the rather nerdy Wendell who is forced to save his brother by running across town in nothing but his underwear to fetch a bowl of chili.

This story is quick and quirky and an easy read to pass the time.  It isn’t my normal read but it was entertaining.  I am giving it 3 Boundless stars, it was good.

Do you ever have one of those days when it would probably have been much wiser to have puled the duvet over your head and gone back to sleep? Wendell Worthy certainly did. If he had, he would have avoided a whole heap of trouble - in his tighty-whities at that. trouble is, Wendell's a decent bloke. He couldn't let the psychotic gang leader, Big Ben, kill his brother. Even if that brother is always getting himself in a heap of trouble AND inherited all the good looks in the family. So off Wendell goes. To do the decent thing. But Big Ben has a hankering for chili and has decided Wendell is to get it for him of his brother won't be around much longer. Okay, Wendell can do that. He can go out for chili and be back in a couple of hours. It couldn't be that simple though, could it? Not only does he have to sprint there and back, he has to do it in his underwear.

Chased by Big Ben's gang, half the homeless population of Kansas City (who he has somehow managed to upset), forced to 'dance' for a bunch of neo-nazis, and pursued by a jaded and somewhat cynical cop, will our hero ever survive, let alone, bring home the chili?

Great fun, a quick and thoroughly entertaining read.

Sibling rivalry and an unexpected challenge make this for a laugh out loud read. Readers with brothers or sisters will especially relate to these two brothers- Wendell, a mild-mannered, easy going, non-confrontational kinda guy and Drake, a loud-mouthed, chip-on his shoulder kinda guy always looking for trouble. This time the trouble he finds has poor Wendell facing difficult situations in nothing but his underwear as he runs across town in search of a bowl of chili to rescue Drake. The author blends humor, action and adventure, and a bit of thriller in the mix too.

Run Wendell run...You are on the clock. A fun read!

Merged review:

Much like an episode of 24, this plot is running on the clock. Run Wendell, run. Crazy antics and a great side kick. I love the fact the author made reference to Zack from the Zack and Zora series. Nice touch.
All for a bowl of delicious, at least I assume it's delicious, bowl of chili. Great job Mr. West

Wanna-be-hipster Wendell just wants to keep a low profile in his slowly gentrifying neighborhood. Too bad his loudmouth brother ticked off the local drug dealer. To save his brother’s life, Wendell strikes a deal. He has to run across town for the dealer’s favorite take-out chili. With no car, no phone, no money, and no pants, can Wendell make it back in time to save his bro? The latest from author Stuart West is fast-paced, full of humor, and more fun than a coffee house full of hipsters.

What would you do for your brother? Even a brother that’s narcissistic and your parent’s favorite? Would you risk life and limb to save him from death? In Chili Run by Stuart R. West, his protagonist, Wendell, does just that to save his big brother Drake from a gang of thugs.

It’s nonstop action and despite the challenge Wendell finds romance during his daring naked sprint across town for a bowl of chili! A fast fun read that’ll give you a hankering’ for some chili!

Excellent job!
