The battle was won, but the war isn’t over.

One month ago, Olandon’s older sister abdicated the throne, leaving him a world he never expected to rule.

With his mother dead and gone, the Osolis court should be exultant. Instead, those of high rank close in on every side, threatening to endanger the new and fragile peace.

The attacks on the Ire folk continue. The loyalty of his army hangs by a thread. The scrutiny of three worlds is on him, each race weighing what kind of leader he will be.

Yet all Olandon can focus on is the danger creeping closer to the person he loves, a bruma he never thought to see again, and a person his court will never accept.

A person who, if he fails, will pay with their life.

He is Tatum.

But he has never felt more helpless in his life.

Fantastic addition to the 'Tainted Accords' series, was really great to see Olandon's conversations with the key characters we've come to love over the course of these books!

What's the point?

I honestly don't understand the point of these novellas. They don't hardly add anything to the plot, and each story feels rushed.

If you haven't read the tainted accords recently, I suggest you refresh your memory on the books. I know I had been waiting and waiting to know who Olandon was involved with! The reveal didn't have quite the same rush I hoped because it had been so long I forgot who my theory was.

That said, I really loved how Kelly structured the book. It starts when Sin arrives to stop the wedding and Olandon sees who came with him and continues on from there, with flashbacks to the past. It is these flash backs POV from both Olandon and his love interest that really add depths to their characters and their romance. Olandon is not in a good head space after the events of the tainted accords and is struggling with a responsibility he never wanted with all of his family moved away or dead.

There we are a lot of great character moments not only between the Olandon and mystery person, but between also the interactions they have with other people in the novel. They felt very authentic and moving. It shows how one person who is willing to fight for what they believe can change the direction of future. How family can hurt each other but can also heal each other. If I could change one thing, I would have had the novel occur over a longer period of time. It felt like too much happened in like a week.

'He bent in to kiss her, not planning to stop anytime soon, and whispered, “You know Solati don’t ask questions.”'

In this novella we finally get to know who it is that Olandon has fallen in love with and I was not disappointed in the slightest. In the main series you don't get to see as much of Olandon and how he feels being on Glacium and about his sister as you might like. So the novella is a welcome book in how Olandon acts and feels and how he thinks through things.

In this book we get to see Olandon as Tatum and how he rules Osolis. I love the romance in this book and the brashness of the Bruma kept me reading and I did this whole novella in one go. Clare really makes you fall in love with these characters and the worlds. I do not want this series to end and I'm so devastated that I only have two novellas left but the last two are Rhone and Shard and I can't wait to read more about them.

In this book there is some unrest between the Bruma and the Solis as after Avanna's reign the Solis are wary of the Bruma and they are used to seeing them as their enemy. However it was great to see how they interacted as friends rather then enemies.

Time to go and read about Rhone! <3

Wasn't sure how I felt about Olandon / Tatuma / Tatum before this book. Loyal to his sister - yes. But I think that might be about his only redeeming quality.. or maybe all we knew about him. Well, that & his friendship with Ashawn. Loved that duo.. not too sure why!

Having his own story told changed things - his POV put into perspective what he was dealing with, his own internal conflicts, and insecurities.

I think Jovan and Olandon spoke MAYBE two sentences prior to this.
He shrugged. “If you want, Olina and I can rule your world, too.”
“Over my dead body.” Olandon realized a second later he’d played right into the king’s hands.
Jovan grinned. “Mighty possessive of the job you don’t want.”
Did the brute know the effect he’d just had?
Olandon blinked as a wave of understanding broke over his shoulders. When he thought about giving up control of Osolis, he did feel possessive.
“No one else can do the job as well,” he whispered.

Finally we know which Bruma woman stole Landon's heart! I liked this novella much better than the last one. I liked seeing the Solati court and understanding the aftermath of the war. Although she wasn't a huge secondary character in the main books, I am glad to see Greta more and understand her. I found I rather liked her and it was a cute, but quick story. Switching back and forth in time was a little confusing at first, but I liked that it allowed us to understand the events leading up to everything and their relationship.

That was actually refreshing. I liked this more than I thought I would. What a good weekend read. It wasn't much more than a love story, but I really enjoyed it. I'm glad we get a glimpse into how everything affected Olandon. I actually didn't guess the mystery girl in previous books, but I'm glad it was "her". It was a sweet little story and it just goes to show that sometimes all it really takes is a woman's touch. A Bruma woman's touch, that is. ;)

Olandon’s story had the heart in it that was missing from Sin’s. A good addition to the series although the relationship could have done with more building but I guess they were just returning to it rather than starting it as in most stories. I liked the other perspective Olandon brought to Olina’s story and how their relationship strengthened because of it.

A beautiful love story....

Going into this I knew it would be more romance than action because that's the route that the previous novella went. Even if that's not your thing, if this is a series that peaked your interest it is a must read. Olandon has to grow as a leader and deal with emotions about where his life has gone that he tried to suppress.

His counterpart (I won't spoil the name) is not at all who I thought it was. I'm usually so much better at these things. I had to skim some of the tainted accords series to relearn more about them. BUT their character was awesome, spunky and bold!

This was a really good read and an opportunity to hold on to this crew a little longer.

Be mindful that Olandon's story begins toward the end of Sin's so it will spoil things if you read them out of order.

Loved it. Too short, I wanted more!

Loved reading about Olandon and his perspective on everything that has happened in his world! The woman he's ended up with is amazing, strong, and so likeable! Can't wait to read future novellas. :)

WTF Landon... at the beginning of novella I could not believe this was the same guy from the series. The way he treated the Namas situation was baffling to me. I can understand the author's reasoning for this, he inherited a kingdom that he did not want to rule and felt a lot of pressure to live up to expectations. He couldn't just expel any noble he didn't like and there had to be solid reasoning to do so. Still, he had so little regard to Sin's warnings and how could he marry someone off for political gain?
Yes he did come around in time, but it's strange to me that he would support this in the first place given how he disliked aspects like that in the court.
I liked that the author included snippets from the past where we found out how Landon reacted to Lina's disappearance and events leading up to his dangerous journey towards Glacium. I also liked that she included the resentment he had towards Lina and the grief he had towards losing his evil queen mother. She always treated him well, but he loathed how she treated Lina and her subjects. It's challenging to confront and feel grief like that and I'm glad it was included in this novella.

I was so disappointed to find out his mystery love interest was Greta. I had a feeling it was already, since she was the only one mentioned in proximity to Landon at one point. I was SO hoping that this would be an m\m love story with Ashawn... the chemistry between them is off the charts in comparison! After further reflection I realized it would be incestuous to have the royal siblings so interconnected.
In some respects I feel like Greta is a complimentary match with her being so expressive socially and emotionally. Maybe if there was more buildup in their past or some heat in their reconnection I would feel differently but it was very underwhelming.

All through reading The Tainted Accords, we were meant to root for Olina - it wasn't too hard to do so, given her circumstances, her bravery, and eventually her badass-ness that really came through in the later stories. Her brother Olandon, however? He was a lot harder to get a bead on - which, apparently, was Kelly St. Clare's goal all along. *shakes fist*

For the first time, thanks to this novella, we delve deep into the character of Olandon - and more especially, the heart and mind that lies beneath the a Solati exterior. Though there are frequent interludes where we revisit scenes from Olandon's past that took place during the Tainted Accords, we pick up the story several months after. Olandon is now King of Solati, a job he never wanted and feels ill-equipped to take on. Remnants of Avanna's despicable rule threaten the fragile peace, even further overwhelming him.

Another thing St. Clare did during the TA series was tease us as to who Olandon's potential "love interest" was, and this book, we finally learn who it is!

I am going to use spoiler brackets to hide the next few paragraphs for the benefit of those reading this who haven't read it.

Olandon certainly wasn't the flashiest of characters, but I can say, having read his story, that he was one of the deepest. If you read (and loved) the Tainted Accords, then you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not reading this companion story.

I got a LITTLE annoyed by Greta putting down Olana - or at least that's how I felt it? Maybe it was just the book trying to show "oh Olandon is great too" but she [and others!] kept saying it as Olandon is BETTER. He'll be the greatest, the best.

I thought it was rather too pat/easy how in the course of FOUR DAYS - for FREAKING DAYS Greta wins over the ENTIRE damn viperous court?
I mean sure 3 of the worst players were taken out but ... still.

The bringing of the family to the platform was inspired.
I guess I didn't really ... this ~romance starts at the end. As in you don't really REALLY see the "them getting together" part.
I also wish there had been a BIT more between Olandon and Olana... now Lana I guess.
Oh how he was unsure - and more importantly felt betrayed was so striking. He kinda veered into whiny for me though. And I didn't get so much he felt for Greta as that was just what is expected of the book, if that makes sense.

Sin almost steals the show. I liked it, I'm glad I read it, but ... I don't think I'm going to be jumping at re-reading this one. [Hah can you tell Olana is 10,000% my favorite?! :P]

Oh the feels in this book. I never thought I could fall for Olandon. In the Tainted Accords series and in Sin's novella he comes across as unfeeling and stuck up, I was also never sure if he really did stand on the right side of good or not. After reading his novella I feel that I understand him so much better. In fact understanding him actually bought me to tears. This was a brilliant book and I was shocked about just who his Bruma is. No spoilers from me on that, you need to read this to find out. But I loved his "Bruma" they're a great character and just right for Olandon and Osolis.
I've loved this series throughout the first four full books and have re read them several times. Olandon is a book that will be added to my reread list and I'm really looking forward on reading the Tainted Accords again with a fresh perspective on Olandon. Kelly St Clare has yet again produced another masterpiece of a book which has captured my heart and will long remain in my mind. It was a perfect read.

Another good addition to The Tainted Accords series. It was nice to read about Olandon's side of things. He seemed a bit judgemental at times during the series but it's good to see the progress he has made over time.
Greta being the love interest was expected. I had guessed it when it was mentioned in the series that she was there when Olandon arrives in Glacium. Even though there weren't any details regarding it in the book, the mere mention of her name and the occasional comments that followed throughout made it easier to guess.
I'm glad though that this novella showed their relationship, though I would have loved to read about their time in Glacium.
Loved the relationship between Olandon and Olina. Jovan, as usual is my favourite and I also liked the other key characters mentioned from the series.
Overall, it was a good read but I enjoyed Sin more than this one when it comes to novellas.

Can Landon Live Up To The Legacy He's Handed?👑🙏💥
A Court Full Of Vipers?👑😡😔 3.5 Stars.🌟
(Read using Kindle Unlimited)
Olandon (The Tainted Accords Novella, #4.6)

Olandon was made Tatum by Lina before she left to join Jovan in Glacium. He feels completely unprepared & ill equipped for the job. The fact that his court is probably behind much of his world's unrest & the attacks on the Ire messengers is gearing him up. He feels lost & doesn't know how to fix their prejudice!😔

Greta fell hard for Lando when he was on her world. She's missed him so much but finally has everything in order so she can see him & his world at last. The last thing she expects on her arrival is heart break & death threats but she's a tough bruma, she'll figure it out!💔🙏

This was a darker read I felt. Landon had a lot hidden inside. His people need to be open!😳 I enjoyed getting to know this couple & the people more.👍

When two cultures that are so very different in how they behave and what they think appropriate clash, there's bound to be problems. When two people fall in love despite the cultural difference because he is in the more open, more direct, more straightforward world and feels free in this environment and she enjoys the difference, the challenge... and then they meet again in his world and he is the new ruler, those problems may well be too much for their love. And their story totally gripped me and didn't let me go, even when I wasn't reading, even now that I finished the book. The end felt a bit rushed but it was a very interesting solution and I am still not ready to part from the Tainted Accords... so more please!

Jerin leaned in. “Tatum, forgive me if I seem patronizing, but I am rather older than you and have now seen four rulers of this world, though I believe you will prove to be the best of them.” The Satum looked away. “It is not armies and laws and entire races who change us, Tatum Olandon. In my experience, change always stems from a single person. Your mother inspired fear, your sister inspired revolution, you inspire justice and security, and Greta,” the Satum glanced past him, “Greta inspires hope. You have picked well, Tatum.”

These novellas are the best books. I love the fact I can carry on reading about the world. I miss it so much, especially Olina and these books are making me happy as hell.

The stories are also beautiful and interesting 🥺

Love Olandon

I liked Olandon in the Fantasy of Frost series so I'm glad I got to read more about Olandon and I enjoyed his short story.. But I think I liked Greta more lol and I like that I got to see sneak peaks at some of the other characters I was looking forward to seeing in this story..I liked Greta and the bang she brought to Osilis and I love how she was able to get Olandon out of his bubble..it was a cute story..
!!!!!!Spoiler Alerts below!!!!
I love how Greta was able to come in from another world and change things in such a short while..I love how she was able to get under Olandon skin from the beginning and change his perspective in how he sees things..All in all I like there story it was cute..

An ok addition to the series

I have really enjoyed this series overall, but this one fell a bit short for me. Although the story is entertaining and does move the larger plot forward, it's told in segments that jump around in time. Those jumps interrupt the flow of the story and make it seem disjointed. During all of that jumping around, the MCs spend more time apart than they do together. The time they spent together falling in love is referenced during the story as happening in the past and we don't get to see it at all. That was disappointing.

There were also a few inconsistencies and proofreading issues, but they didn't impact the reading experience too badly.

I'd say this is a 3.5 for me, rounded up.

"You know a Solati doesn't ask questions."

I thoroughly enjoyed this novella. It was a perfect wrap up of Olandon's story and we finally get to see some of his perspective as well as his love internet's (Yes we finally get to know and no I didn't see it coming). I loved the Tainted Accords series from beginning to end and getting to step back into this world is always like visiting old friends. That being said if you haven't read it yet please do yourself a favor and just do it. Anyway this novella was sweet and funny (You will understand the quote. Best line ever) and just perfect. I loved it. The end.

Really enjoyed Olandon.

He was the unshakable younger brother of Lina who always caught my attention. This quiet but commanding presence that made me agree with Olina, he should take over Oslis.

We join him months after Lina has left him with a world to rebuild-literally. His court is a pit of vipers determined to end his short reign. But I always knew, once he found his voice, he would command nations.
I just didn’t see the no holds barred Burma lady being his guiding force. But what a woman she is. (No spoilers).

It’s also pretty obvious the author loves Olandon as much as the readers. This is a vastly stronger book than Sin.

This book felt more like a journey of healing for Olandon with a side story of romance for Greta. Now that's NOT a bad thing. Just fair warning that this isn't a true romance of the traditional sense.

I loved getting into Landon's head & emotions. Ah, how I adore Greta! She's spunky & has a huge heart. ❤️

I always enjoy reading about Glacium, Oscala & Osolis. Great editing and a perfect ending! :-)

My star ratings include these 5 elements:
1★ story line
1★ engaging characters
1★ use of world building/descriptive
1★ being well edited or narrated
1★ the ending

More.....I need more!!!!! This is a great novella but I wish it had been a full length novel there is so much scope for more within this story. I’m so glad the author is choosing to write these novellas because they are real treats for fans of the series. This series is one of my favourites I absolutely love all the characters and the world in which the story is set. Olandan has always been in Olina’s shadow and it’s great to finally get to know him better in this book and of course to finally find out who he kept looking at in Glacium!!!

Fun Return to a Beloved Fantasy

Another enjoyable novella from the world of The Tainted Accords! These books are fast paced and fun, with just the right touch if thought-provoking & powerful, all held together with a delightful dollop of romance between couples a reader can easily relate to root for. For anyone looking for well-written fantasy romps in a strikingly unique world, you have found it in Kelly St. Clare's Tainted Accords novels & novellas... But all of Kelly's work is superb! I highly recommend this author!

My heart fell into my stomach once I hit the epilogue. I couldn't believe the book was over! I was so entranced by the story and caught up in everything that transpired that I didn't want it to be over. I loved the flashbacks! Since the previous books were all from Olina's point of view, you never really knew what Olandon had gone through and had bits and pieces... until this book. Kelly did a fantastic job with this novella and I'm really looking forward to the next one!

If you're a fan of the Tainted Accords this is a must read. We've been waiting to see the big reveal for Olandon's love interest and we finally get it.
Pros: seeing the story from Olandon's POV including his journey the previous year, the romance was lovely, Olina/Jovan/Ashawn, the relationship between Lina and Landon
Cons: i just wish we had seen more of how they fell in love in the 1st place
