Pixie Dust Chronicles #4

Elemental Magicks

Rate this book
ELEMENTAL MAGICKS IS THE FOURTH INSTALLMENT OF THE PIXIE DUST CHRONICLES.

Karli Lane has learned the hard way that life isn’t full of sunshine and roses, and immortality isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Danger has a habit of following her everywhere she goes and being in the realm of Faerie is no exception to that.

There’s nothing like learning you’re a key player in a doomsday prophecy when the survival of an entire race is at stake. Especially when you haven’t quite learned how to control all that new power you’re supposedly capable of.

As if that wasn’t enough pressure, there’s a new. . .complication in her love life. With Winter Solstice fast approaching, and the prophecy with it, the last thing she needs to worry about is a relationship, but she knows that she must make a choice between the two men who’ve stolen her heart. Problem is, much to her annoyance, that mysterious prophecy may have already made the decision for her.

Now she has to ask herself, is he the one she truly wants? And will they survive long enough to see it through?

Laura Lee is the USA Today bestselling author of sexy and seductive romance. She's best known for writing the Bedding the Billionaire series and the Windsor Academy series. She won her first writing contest at the ripe old age of nine, earning a trip to the state capital to showcase her manuscript. Thankfully for her, those early works will never see the light of day again! Laura lives in the Pacific Northwest with her extremely tolerant husband, two beautiful children, and some of the most ridiculously spoiled felines you’ll ever meet.

When she's not chauffeuring the kids around, writing, or watching HGTV, she probably has her nose in a book, with an iced matcha by her side. She's a sucker for spicy romances, always searching for new book boyfriends to add to her collection..

The conclusion to the Pixie Dust Chronicles left me with a plethora of emotions. I remember when I first happened upon this series. At the time, only Pixie Dust had been released, but Karli, Leo, and Vance were an instant addiction for me. I fell in love with the fast paced plot, the romantic tension between Karli and the men who forced me to form Team Sandwich because I absolutely couldn't decide whose team to be on, and the fantastical world Laura Lee created that takes place right inside of our modern day Vegas--and later, the introduction to Faerie. So to say that I'm sad to see this series end, a series that was one of a handful to reignite my love for reading way back in the day, and a series that caused many sleepless nights from all-night reading fests, is an understatement. These types of stories are my favorite, and I have found that they are few and far between, at least ones that are well written.

Apart from what was hinted at in the blurb, I didn't know what to expect in Elemental Magicks. I didn't know if Karli would convince both men that a forever sandwich was an awesome idea (I know I wouldn't have complained), or who she'd end up with if that didn't happen. But I found myself so wrapped up in the story, in the twists and turns that made up the entire plot of the book and made putting it down really freaking hard. And though I'm sad to see this series end, I feel a sense of closure with the way it ended, and I think most readers will find, whether they are Team Leo or Team Vance or Team Sandwich, the resolution of that triangle was done really well. And I won't say anymore because that would spoil the fun for anyone who hasn't read it yet.

Thanks, Laura Lee, for taking me on this journey with these amazing characters and this imaginative story and world. I've loved it from beginning to end, and I know there will be a few revisits in my future.

Have you ever read a book and knew you were going to miss the characters when it was over? I waited a long time to read more of Karli Lane and within moments of reading I knew I missed her and was going to miss her terribly when I finished the book.

But, I kept reading, so much so that I finished the book in a couple of hours! And now that its over and I have time to think about it, I have to reread it! I am glad Laura ended this series the way she did. All the little pieces are tied up and you aren't wondering what happened to so and so. Am I happy with who Karli ends up with? Heck NO! Laura knows whose team I was on!! But, this isn't about me, or is it?

Karli Lane, what a wonderful character that you immediately root for. She's quirky and loveable and just the right amount of smart ass! My kind of girl! She is everyone's best friend, and kick ass warrior rolled up into just a girl at the end. A girl with longings and wishes that Laura grants her, and makes the last in the series the best.

Vance and Leo. Every girls dream book boyfriends. Each has their own style and wit. I am going to miss reading "My Sweet!"

But the nice thing about books, you can go back into their world time and time again and visit them. I won't have to miss Karli or Leo or Vance, I can go back and dream again and again. Which I will do just as soon as I type this review.

I can't give away one single moment of this last in the series book. The story is perfectly written and all my questions are answered. Laura is a wonderful author who knows how to touch the soul of her characters and make them come off the page in ways only she can do. If ever you wanted a little bit of Fairy, Warlock and Vampire this is the series for you! Everything you could ever want is in these books. How about a ghoul? You want a ghoul? I think Laura has one in there somewhere! Nasty gross things that kill, yep they are in there. You want a love story? Oh this is the one for you!! Laura gives you love and them some!

Thank you Laura for giving to everyone your wonderful world of Fairy. It stands toe to toe with the best of them! I will treasure my books and not let them out of my site! Thank you for Karli Lane, and thank you for your sense of wonder and quirkiness and your art of story telling. You amaze me!

Love you girl!

The Karli Lane series by Laura Lee was the first adult romance series I ever read. It sucked me into the genre, and has now turned into an obsession. I started reading this series back in 2014; that means it’s been a little over 3 years that I’ve been loving this epic saga. The wait may have been long for this final book but it was worth the wait!

There are a lot of series where I dread reading the final book. It’s never because I think the story is going to be bad or I won’t like it. I’m never ready to say goodbye to the characters. I will truly miss wondering what these characters are going to do next. Karli Lane is one of my favorite female characters of all time! She’s smart, sassy, completely lovable and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. If she were real, I’m sure we would be BFFs! Don’t even get me started on the two men that star in this series! Leo and Vance are what book boyfriends are made of!

I loved how much action went on in this installment of the series. There was so much going on and true “do or die” situations. I couldn’t read fast enough! Everything about this story was perfect. The pace was smooth and flowed extremely well, there were no questions left unanswered, and I wouldn’t have wanted anything more to finish out this saga.

I must admit, at first, I was upset with who Karli ended up with. It was no secret what team I was on so I held out hope for as long as I could. However, after it was clear who she was going to be with, it didn’t take me long to adjust to the turn the story took. The reasoning behind why it had to be that way was solid and I couldn’t argue. After just a little bit, I was completely on board and enjoyed how the plot was concluded with everything nicely wrapped up.

Note: This is the last book in the series which must be read in order. With that said, you WILL NOT regret it! This series is so good and takes you away to a world of fantasy and romance!

It’s never to early for a reread… right?

Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.

Can I just say how much I absolutely adore Karli and I so missed her. She is sarcastic and funny. She is strong and one of my favorite female characters I have read. Oh and did I mention that I would so never be able to make that decision between Vance and Leo. I have to say that I was actually really happy with the ending of this series. It is bittersweet, because I love these characters so much, but this was such a great conclusion to one of my favorite paranormal series.

This story was definitely worth the wait and it works great with the books that are already out. It is fun. It is emotional. It is surprising and it is just such a refreshing, creative story. I love all of Laura's stories, but I really hope that she decides to write another paranormal. I will really miss these guys.

This is the conclusion to the Pixie Dust Chronicles and left me with alot of emotions, though I'm sad to see this series end, there is closure with the way it ended, and most readers will find that I think, whether they are Team Leo or Vance or wanted them both as I did, the resolution of that triangle was done well. I won't say anymore because that would spoil the fun for anyone who hasn't read it yet.
All the little pieces are tied up and you aren't wondering what happened to most of the main characters. I enjoyed this one more than the previous three because of the multiple POV, I am just a fan of seeing how all the characters are thinking rather than just one, I think it adds so much more to the story line.

Ugh!!!

I was so looking forward to this book. However it was absolutely awful. The dialogue was basically non-existent and what little there was was very high schoolish. I was really hoping to see Leo and Karli end up together but somehow we end up with a pregnant karli and a pregnancy that magically ends the bad guys. And then for Leo to get pawned off on a third-rate character just blows my mind. I have never left a 2-star review on a book but this one just disappointed me all around.

I have been DYING to get my hands on this book for a while, and now that I’ve finally gotten to read it, I am ecstatic to say that it was AMAZING!! I loved the characters just as much as I did from all the books before it, and I loved the way it ended. The love triangle had me hoping that she would never choose. Why not keep both?! Anyway, the prophecy called for a soul mate and not soulmates, so a choice had to be made. One beautiful studly man had to go. I am happy with Karli’s choice. If she absolutely had to pick one, I’m glad she chose the one she did. This story was hot, suspenseful, whimsical, and devastating at times. The ending is happy, and it will leave readers satisfied. I still want more, but that’s because I can’t quit karli, Leo, Vance, and the others. This story sticks with you, and it’s worth every minute! READ THIS BOOK! ...actually read the series, because you must read it the other books before it to get how FANTASTIC this story truly is. This is not a standalone.

I loved book one through three. Unfortunately in the fourth book, the plot became too convenient. Everyone and everything had a place to fall into. Karlie trained hard for months and months, only to still fall small to an actual fight, so to be saved by an unborn, seemed odd and too predictable. The triangle romance fell flat. Overall I love the story and I'm happy for the happy ending, it just sort of went out with too much convenience.

Wow! I waited for this book since 2012, so as soon as I saw it I started over at the beginning and I was immediately sucked back in. I loved these books, and while I was sad for it to be over, I loved getting the ending for them all. I had too much love for both Leo and Vance so I was a little heartbroken but happy all the same.

Such a sweet ending to an amazing series.

I have looked forward to this book for months. When I found Pixie Dust I was sure what exactly to expect. I have to very honest and say that I judged books bases on their covers. I really really did. That and the title. But when I read the blurp I had to try and give it a shot. That lead yo me binge reading the first 3 books without even pausing. I fell in love woth Karli, Leo and Vance. However I just don't think Leo had enough attention. I knew Karli would end up with Vance I just knew it. However, I really wanted to see more of him throughout. And I definitely appreciate what Laura Lee gave us in this last book. However, that just left me with needing more of Leo.

As far as the last book itself. I was a little disappointed in it. I really thought it would've been longer, had more all around. I really liked how we heard from Ordessa, Naela and Leo this time around, however it was very short and not much of anything to give us an idea of that character. I feel like this last book was supposed to have such a battle and though the preparation of Karli ti get her power and magic under control occurred, it was the only thing that really, truly had any depth. I almost feel like this was a rushed conclusion.

The epilogues were just absolutely fantastic. I loved them. That portion of the book amd the training and developmemt of Karli's abilities were the only parts of the book that held any kind of depth and power.

The previous books had so much emotion I felt it through every page and every work written. I cried a few times. I laughed many many times. I was angry when called for and overwhelmed with confusion and guilt just as Karli was. And I didnt get those feelings while reading this book.

I definitely enjoyed this book and will continue to read books and Laura Lee is extremely talented and fabulous writer. I just wanted to leave a review that may be appreciated with my honestly. I hope that I am expressing myself correctly and its perceived in a kind yet honest manner yet respectful manner because I definitely respect the shiz out of Laura Lee!!

Annoying heroine

First, I'd like to start by saying that I'm impressed by how well the author continued this story after a long break between books 3 and 4. Sometimes when an author takes that much time away, the new book doesn't feel like it fits. This book continued seamlessly from the last but also included some recapping that made it a lot easier since it had been so long. That said, I didn't really enjoy this. I never liked the MC. In the first few books she was selfish and whiney. I continued the series for the plot (and let's face it, the smoking hot sex scenes) but I never grew to like her. I liked her even less in this final book. I felt like the plot was rushed and I'm still trying to figure out what happened in that final battle.

Loved.this series

I'm not sure if I'm just having an emotional day or what? But I UGLY cried through most of this installment & the oops the author made with the the gestation of the pregnancy at winter solstice didn't was enough to stop the tears. Nor did the gestation after leaving fairy. I was just a wreck. Karli could be with only one I knew. I even knew it was Vance because of her vision. I suppose I was with Takk when it came to Karli & Leo. I think mostly it was how devoted Leo was to Karli. In it's simplest form of was paranormal beauty.

A fantastic ending

We have waited for the finale of this wonderful series and I was very happy how it all turned out. The Fae world is definitely different but it was fun to be there and see how they lived. The love triangle is finally resolved and well done I must say. We get a few epilogues which is always a bonus to us readers.

Heartbreaking

I did not like this ending. It’s my own personal opinion but it’s how I felt none the least. My heart hurts thinking about the love and pain that one of the characters went through and it just seemed to not matter to the other characters. Granted the ending makes sense I’m just saddened by it. The book itself was really good though.

Not as great as series

The one consistent in this series is how selfish and immature this heroine is. Usually there is some amount of character growth and depth that occurs when a character initially presents as someone so indecisive and shallow but it never occurs with this "heroine" . Even in the finale she would out and has to be saved by her fetus

Consumed by this series

I absolutely loved this entire series. So many twists, laughs and shock of how things turned out. Read all four books in four days. I seriously couldn't put them down. Hope a new series spins off of this one.

This final episode in the "Pixie Dust" series was filled with extreme emotional discord, disappointments, and life threatening situations. Ms. Lee wrapped up her story with something for each of her main characters.

There’s no more?

I’ve loved reading this series, even with a few errors that got past proof reading. The journey was mostly fun, at times a little drawn out and rather fast at the end. But all in all I fell in love with Karli, Vance and Leo ❤️

The Final Conclusion!

Hey everyone!
So I've just finished this book. And to tell you how I feel.... I feel so confused! I thought things were going to go one way.... but I was completely wrong.

Anyhow! This revolves around Karli finally coming to terms of who she is, what she has to do and her love life. It includes her journey to her epic quest and life decisions that affect her down the road. I'm trying so hard not to give this book away.

Karlie, Vance, Leo, and Neala are in this. And then you find out what happens between them all!
