Serving Serafina

Rate this book

When Joel was growing up, his mother's neighborhood friend Serafina Campanale held two special places in his life: First she was the best Italian cook he'd ever known and second, she was his first ever sexual fantasy. Flash Forward 10 years later and culinary school isn't working out so well for Joel. When he bumps into newly separated Serafina at a grocery store he decides it's time to pick her brain on all matters of Italian food.

What starts off as a learning dinner ends with a stolen kiss, an apology and a whole new batch of confusing feelings for both. But Serafina is Catholic, and sex with another man is a sin. Their passion for each other forges an interesting bargain: Giving Serafina 'adoration' in lieu of fornication. However, doubts about the permanency of his passion, catholic guilt and a husband that refuses to go quietly threaten the burgeoning love they have for each other.

Will Joel learn to stop doing what's expected of him and give in to who he really wants to be? Will Serafina throw self-debt and caution to the wind and accept that it is alright to be worshiped and adored?

This is a gentle femdom story, but a good one. It’s a romantic, sexy, coming of age story where you feel you know the characters when the story is finished. It wasn’t what I expected in the genre, but I enjoyed it.

Was Okay

There wasn't much character development or growth. I would have preferred Serafina's POV to get to see what her desires were. I want to see the POV of the person in charge not the one "following." I felt I lost a lot due to never getting insight into her. It also was clear that Serafina didn't know anything about leading a relationship. So the story was primarily a man wanting to adore his woman and her accepting it. Rather than a woman commanding adoration because she is leading and that is her desire, need, choice. With all that, it didn't satisfy my craving for a true femdom story. This is more a submissive male with a vanilla woman.

There was no intention to be a 'femdom' story. He 'adored' her ffro childhood, then et her as an adult. She did not dominate or control him..
It was an interesting love story

A very cute and touching short story, not truly Femdom IMHO though, more maledom of himself to meet her needs, which to my mind would be so much harder.
