Sweet and utterly romantic book with one leg in the historical romance genre and one in the fairytale genre. Although not containing any supernatural traits, the flair for drama, especially in the entrance/exit scenes, gave it the feel of a fairytale.

Elizabeth was accompaning the Gardiner's on their trip north as mrs Gardiner was needed to tend for an unwell sister in Derbyshire.
Venturing out on a walk on mrs Gardiner sisters estate, she encounter the beast in the forrest. Having shot the magnificent deer she had just been admiring, she trips and he carries her home.

Mr Gardiner went for a hunt with a neighbour but are caught poaching on an abutting estate as he is unfamiliar with the boarders. To save her uncle from imprisonment, Elizabeth agrees to trade places with her uncle and stay at Pemberley as the sisters companion.

The Darcy's has some dark secrets and has been living secluded from society for the last year. Elizabeth brings some much needed light into the halls of Pemberley and offers friendship to her young and excitable charge. Love is in the air by a neighbouring lord but Darcy is not inclined to trust either his sister nor the lord. He did not hold himself to the same standard as he expected from his sister and beau so there is some lovely, romantic interludes with ODC to be had. You can count on Darcy to mess it up though and the eventual make up was lovely, although I was not wholly convinced the beast had been tamed...

Heartily recommend this book!

Miss Bennet and the Beast: A Pride & Prejudice Variation Novel

While Elizabeth herself liken her pressed incarnation at Pemberley to excuse the debt of poaching made by her unsuspecting Uncle Gardiner to the fairytale, Beauty and the Beast, this story is not a retelling. In this story, Georgiana's Ramsgate fiasco is worse than in Jane Austen's original Pride and Prejudice. Feeling he has not spent time with Georgiana, he literally imprisoned them at Pemberley with no human contact with the outside world. Both have grown angry with one another and now that Mrs. Annseley has passed, things have gotten worse for the Darcy siblings. Elizabeth is in Derbyshire with the Gardiners visiting the estate of Mrs. Gardiner's sister. Out on one of her morning walks she meets the known, but unknown: Mr. Darcy through his connection with her brother-in-law, Mr. Bingley; unknown because he didn't come for the wedding. First impressions were not favorable when an injured Elizabeth had to be carried back to Dunleavy, her aunt's sister's estate. Fierce denials, but tingly reactions for both. Following confrontations are just as explosive, but eventually both see through the misunderstandings and accusations. Along with their own amorous feelings, the story also deals with Georgiana's growing feelings with their neighbour, Lord James. Darcy's temper flares in beastly proportions until cool heads with a common purpose bring everything in control. HEA for our dear couple. Loved that there was no Wickham (other than mentioned), no Caroline (other than mentioned), no Lady Catherine (other than mentioned), and no creepy Collins (other than mentioned). I do enjoy stories without their interferences!

A Sweet Read

This is a sweet version of Beauty and the Beast. Mr Darcy has beastly behavior and has secluded Georgianna at Pemberley. Due to an incident with Mr Gardiner, Elizabeth acts as companion to Georgianna for a time, and helps her to grow in maturity and also tames the beast. There is not a lot of angst in this book, and I found it a very enjoyable read.

This story has Elizabeth spending time with her Aunt in Lambton at the home Mrs Gardiner's sister.
She has had occasion to meet a charming man of the neighborhood, Mr Geste and to hear of the brooding man who lives next door.

A hunting incident leads Elizabeth to take up residence in Pemberly as Georgiana's "friend" to replace her uncle's punishment for killing birds without permission. In classic Beauty and the Beast fashion, they find their happily ever after.

The book was alright and I definitely saw some elements of Beauty and the Beast in it but honestly I probably won't read this book again. Plus it didn't keep my attention as much as I hoped it would. It's by no means a bad book but if you want a fast read this is the book for you.

I loved it!

Warning: Contains scenes that would scandalize the ton. Readers of a delicate constitution are advised to keep their fans and vinaigrettes close at hand.

It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. You will see the most beloved characters in a whole new way. This is a Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice variation. This is Pride and Prejudice meets Beauty and the Beast tale.

Elizabeth Bennet has gone to Lambton with her Aunt and Uncle Gardiner for the summer after her sister Jane has married Mr. Bingley. Before many days have passed, she meets the elusive Mr. Darcy in the woods near Dunleavy, the estate of her Aunt Gardiner's ailing sister Lady Mary Grace. She is at once infuriated and intrigued by the handsome, arrogant man she has only known through tales of the Bingley family.

Rumors whispered by the staff of Dunleavy leave her curious and confused by her feelings for the dark stranger who hides away with his sister in their grand estate. In a strange twist of events, Elizabeth's summer will see her brought closer to the gruff Mr. Darcy and his impertinent sister. She will come to understand she loves the beastly master of Pemberley. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. It’s a must read. I highly recommend to everyone.

A Beautifully told Tale

A charming mix of two beloved tales as Pride and Prejudice combines with Beauty and the Beast. A perfect combination of two of the most romantic stories I love. I highly recommend it to fans of either tale.

Lovely

An interesting variation of author Jane Austen’s classic Pride and Prejudice by April Floyd. Veers rather wildly from canon but enjoyable
