Having been left at the altar by Arthur Morgan, Kenzie Gifford heads to San Francisco. She has made friends though with the recently wealthy Judith and Camri as they seek to help feed and provide for the those left homeless by the quake. Dr Micah Taylor is also busy caring for the poor and those left homeless by the San Francisco earthquake. The year is 1906. But Micah also is determined to pursue Kenzie and convince her to give him a chance to prove his love for her. However, Kenzie is determined she is done with love. It is far too painful. Will Micah be able to change her mind and her heart? And what will happen when Arthur reappears in Kenzie's life?
This is the third book in this series and I had not read the other two. No matter. I easily picked up what was going on and got drawn into the lives of the characters. I appreciate the research that went into the historical period and the way some people banded together to help each other.. Of course, like any society, there are also those who care for nothing but getting their own way. Judith’s only living relative Victoria is one such character. She is not the only unlikable and manipulative one.
This author has written a large number of books but this was the first one of hers I have read. It is very definitely Christian fiction, a genre I don’t read a lot of. So I was surprised how much I enjoyed this novel.
The ending was a bit too neatly tied up for my liking, but overall I really engaged with this story and would be interested to read the next one in the series. It is a story of friendship, family, love, hope, danger and choices. Those who enjoy a well told story with a decidedly Christian outlook should enjoy it as much as I did.

Peterson's newest novel takes you into an early 20th century San Francisco filled with intrigue, danger, and political corruption. While this is the third book in the Golden Gate Secrets series and I have not read the first two, I was still able to enjoy the story and was not confused about anything that happened in the first two books.

Our main characters, Kenzie and Micah, are both interesting characters, if a little one-dimensional. While understandable, Kenzie's fear of being in a romantic relationship felt too drawn-out and I found myself getting annoyed with her instead of having compassion. I liked Micah and his persistence in not letting her go, but at the same time, he was a little too pushy for my liking. Secondary characters such as Caleb, Camri, Patrick, and Judith were all very interesting and I enjoyed getting bits and pieces of their stories.

The storyline centers around the Great 1906 Earthquake and I found the history wrapped around that event very interesting. I would have liked a little more details to help set the scene, but overall it was quite good. Peterson's writing style is very simplistic, which doesn't lend to a very authentic historical feel to me, in both dialogue and descriptions, and that is probably my biggest issue with this book.

Overall, while not my particular cup of tea, I did enjoy In Times Gone By and am interested to read the rest of the series.

CONTENT NOTE: Recommended for ages 16+

What a lovely story of family, regrets, hopes, and drama. I liked that it featured a doctor and nurse helping out in a city recovery effort after a major natural disaster. It was wonderful to see friends sticking up for and supporting one another. The way these characters overcome obstacles was inspiring.

The one drawback for me was that the leading lady used deception to accomplish her goal toward the end—and never recognized this as a wrong and devious method of getting what she wanted. It was hard for me to believe she had lowered herself to the same level as the bad guy instead of standing tall and firm for her morals and for what is right in the face of trials. This completely took the steam out of the finale for me, which was quite a let-down after the buildup of the previous two books (and even the story within this book).

"In Times Gone By" is just the sort of book you hope for when you've been thoroughly enjoying a series and are hoping that things will come to a fitting - and exciting - conclusion. Each novel in this series has had its own unique flavour and each has been equally satisfying, with this last novel perhaps even being more so! Kenzie grabbed my attention in the first novel for her grit and pluck but also because of the deep wound she was harbouring from her past, something us readers can really relate to. Watching her confront that wound and then come to a place of peace and wholeness made for some heart-warming reading indeed. But I think what I most enjoyed about this book is not even just her own story arc, as good as it was. Rather, it was the way that Peterson continued to weave the lives of all these characters together in a remarkable way, showing the power of grace and loyalty and powerful friendship that they extend to each other. In the case of Kenzie herself, adding in some mystery and suspense to her story (and of course some heart-warming romance) made for an even better journey to the end!

As the story of Kenzie and Micah, Judith and Caleb, and Camri and Patrick drew to a close, I was left with a big smile and the sense that I'd somehow made friends with these characters over the course of the series. While I also enjoy the type of series where each novel can be read more as a standalone book, the Golden Gate Secrets series has been a far more richer experience because of how Peterson has truly intertwined the lives of these characters in each novel, while providing each heroine with a chance to shine. Kenzie certainly does so with her part in this concluding book, and I am certain that you are going to love "In Times Gone By" just as much as I have.

I award this novel a high rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars, and encourage you to not only try this novel for yourself, but go back and devour the first two novels as well if you haven't yet done so. The journey will certainly be worth it!

Tracie Peterson has written over a hundred novels, so of course, she knows the mechanics of a good novel and keeps pumping them out. With her Golden Gate Secrets series, I came to know her writing and her characters a lot better. I have enjoyed this series from the amazing characters to the plot. Peterson captured my attention and didn't let go.
The Golden Gate Secrets series involves three women who meet on a train and follow their adventures as they arrive in a new city and ends right after the fire and earthquake of 1906. Peterson does a wonderful job at using her words to bring this world and the characters to life on the page. They jumped off the page and directly into my imagination. I enjoyed this series.
The romance isn't over the top, but it is definitely there. Peterson didn't make me cringe with too much romance; it occurred naturally over the course of the story. It was predictable, and I knew exactly how the story and series would end.
I was glad to finally learn more about Kenzie and see her story and background from her perspective. Kenzie was a strong heroine even though she appears to be a major introvert in the first two installments in this series. I liked Micah, the hero, too. He loved Kenzie and was willing to do anything for her, just like most heroes in a novel do.
The plot kept my attention. I enjoyed the mystery elements with Arthur Morgan and Victoria. They helped move the plot along. I didn't have a hard time focusing on the plot. I wanted more.
Overall, In Times Gone By by Tracie Peterson is a wonderfully crafted story that fit in nicely with the first two books. The plot worked well for the time period, and the predictable romance filtered in and out. I loved the returning characters who supported Kenzie and helped cement my interest in the story. Fans of Karen Barnett and Susan Anne Mason might enjoy this novel.

Now this is the third book in this series, and you might want to treat yourself and read them too, but you can read this one alone, the author gives you enough to keep you up to date.

We are now in the clean up phase after the devastating earthquake that shook San Francisco, and are offered some interesting facts of what was really happening there. We are caught of in the lives of several of the characters, with more to come.

There are times here when evil really raises its ugly head, and you will be holding your breath at the outcome.

I loved the epilogue we are given! You don't want to miss this great read filled with love, compassion, and forgiveness!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Bethany House, and was not required to give a positive review.

I loved the setting for this book. I admire Tracie Peterson for her ability to write these wonderful stories.
I don't think that much is written about the earthquake of San Francisco in 1906.
Tracie writes in a way that I could imagine myself being in with the people and what they went through during that terrible time. I loved the way the people of the community came together in their time of need and helped each other.
I think it's awful that it takes something like this to make people come together. We should always help because we never know who might need it. 9/11 is a perfect example for today's catastrophe. We as a nation came together and helped those in need.
I'm wondering if God plans these disasters to make us wake up and realize what is going on around us? I'd like to think so. But then after everything settles down we go back to our old way of life never giving our Lord a second thought. That's terrible.
I liked how the girls and their friends helped wherever people needed it.
I understand how Kenzie felt. When I broke up with my ex he took everything with him including my heart. It took me a long long time to understand why he did that and it also took me long time to trust another man.
All men are not alike my head says but, my heart is telling me opposite.
I dearly love the man I have now. He does everything for me and gets anything the family needs.
Doctors like Micah are hard to find these days. Sometimes I think that yesterday's drs can really teach these doctors today some bedside manners.
I give this book 5 stars with my whole heart.
I received a copy from Netgalley and no compensation were received..

This story is set right after the San Francisco earthquake and fire. George is missing and Kenzie is determined to look for him. Judith is sure he will be ok and reminds Kenzie that Micah says he will be fine. Micah is a doctor who wants to marry Kenzie but after she was left at the alter she is wary of men. Reading the first two in the series is really best to understand the background of Judith, her family and boyfriend.

I enjoy Tracie Peterson as an author. This was a 3 book series. You need to read in order. These books are Historical Fiction. The books are in the 1900 and the setting in San Francisco which was during the earthquakes. My favorite was the 2nd but all good reads.

My Reflections:
Tracy Peterson knows how to pen an engaging story, her newest novel is no exception. The plot is brimming with danger, intrigue and twists and turns that just might make your head spin. This is the third book in the series "Golden Gate Secrets" and although the plot ties in nicely with the previous characters this novel has enough detail to be considered a stand-alone.

I really didn't expect that I would so quickly be drawn into this story. I absolutely adore Tracy Peterson and her writing style but was not as intrigued by the last two novels. This one was by far one of my favourites. I'm not sure if it was the passion for the disenfranchised, which really hits close to my heart or perhaps the thread of three very different strangers meeting on a train, then forming an unbreakable bond. I found each story so unique since all three women have varying degrees of refinement, differ in their relationships with Christ and are not all equal in wealth and status. Each story has a love twist, which keeps it interesting as well!

In this story focuses on Kenzie and Micah. I could very well understand why Kenzie had sworn off men, her hurt is completely understandable, however, I found Micah a tad too persistent for my liking. The whole relationship was perhaps a little drawn out. But I suppose this is true to life, right? I'm a hopeless romantic.. too many Hallmark movies this Christmas season!

The plot was fascinating. I love that Tracy Peterson always does her homework and folds the story seamlessly around historical events. In this case the Great Earthquake of 1906.
It made me want to dig into some research of my own.

All in all a very authentic and thought-provoking book on so many levels. If you love historical fiction, coupled with heart pulling themes this may be your next read!
Well done Tracy Peterson!

In Times Gone By is the third novel in Golden Gate Secrets series by Tracie Peterson. It is April of 1906 in San Francisco and the city has just suffered devastating earth quakes. Kenzie Gifford and her friends have relocated to a large warehouse to help those in need. The warehouse will be turned into a shelter for women and children which will be called Shelter Rock. Kenzie, at her friend’s urging, recently wrote her ex-fiancé, Arthur to let him know she forgives him for not showing up at the church on her wedding day. She is currently worried about Dr. Micah Fisher whom she has not seen since the earthquake. Kenzie has been keeping Micah at arm’s length because she is afraid of getting her heart broken again. The destruction and number of deaths makes Kenzie rethink her decision. She does care for Micah and is willing to let him court her. Then Arthur arrives full of apologies and explains his father orchestrated the wedding day mishap. Arthur states he still loves Kenzie and wants to marry her. Kenzie is full of mixed emotions and unsure what to do. Caleb wonders at Arthur’s true motivations and decides to do a little digging. Victoria Whitley, Judith Whitley’s cousin, arrives in town and is outraged to learn that Judith controls the purse strings as well as being her guardian. Victoria is determined to get free. An unexpected ally can help Victoria achieve her goal. What decision will Kenzie make in the end? How will Judith, Kenzie and Camri’s stories play out?

In Times Gone By is the final book in the Golden Gate Secrets series. I do recommend reading the books in the Golden Gate Secrets series in order. I found In Times Gone By to be well-written with a gentle pace. I would have preferred more of a page turner. Tracie Peterson captured the time period with the devastation of the earthquake, the clothing, conveyances, politics, and attitudes of the people. Tracie Peterson manages to incorporate the historical events seamlessly into the story. Corruption was rampant in government and it was tough to fight the political machine as we see with Patrick Murdock’s story. The characters are developed, and they continued to grow over the course of the series. While In Times Gone By focuses on Kenzie, we also find out what happens with Camri and Judith. Plus, Judith’s relation, Victoria comes to San Francisco and manages to cause problems. I was not fond of Victoria and her shenanigans. I was especially disappointed that the villains did not get what was coming to them (a great injustice). Kenzie’s indecision where romance is concerned is understandable, but I felt it was drawn out. I admired Micah’s persistence where Kenzie was considered, but it can come across as pushy (nowadays it would probably land him in jail and with a restraining order against him). Christianity is an essential part of the story. The main characters beliefs are a part of who they are, and it shows in their everyday lives (having faith, praying, following God’s will and the path he has for their lives). The action picks up near the end of the book and the conclusion will leave readers smiling. I was happy the author provided an epilogue. I am giving In Times Gone By 4 out of 5 stars (I liked it). Fans of historical fiction and Tracie Peterson will be satisfied with the final book in the Golden Gate Secrets series.

In Times Gone By is the third book in Peterson's Golden Gate Secrets series. Each of the books in the series focuses on one of the three leading female characters. I loved the first two books, but was not expecting this last one to be quite as intriguing as the others because Kenzie Gifford was my least favorite of these characters. I could not have been more wrong. This is my absolute favorite book in the series. Kenzie, who was once left at the altar and subsequently displayed behaviors that I found less than endearing, found her worth and her voice. If that weren't enough, her story and the story of Dr. Micah Fisher became filled with suspense with the reappearance of Arthur Morgan, the fiance that had jilted her. Their lives were further complicated by the spoiled cousin of Judith Whitley, who conspired with Arthur in her effort to free herself from Judith's guardianship. Altogether, it made for several hours of reading pleasure.

As in the previous books, In Times Gone By continues to stress the importance of caring for those less fortunate than ourselves. While the three couples were already working to assist the poor of San Francisco, the great earthquake and resulting fire made the need even greater. Today we have no less opportunities to reach out to those in need whether due to lack of education, economic setbacks, or natural disasters. Our world is ripe with opportunities for ministry. Peterson does a good job of utilizing her platform to bring the needs of the poor and disenfranchised to the forefront, and to assure her readers that finding solutions is within the realm of possibility. She does this while thoroughly entertaining her readers, and without sounding preachy.

I thank NetGalley and Bethany House Publishing for providing me with a copy of In Times Gone By in exchange for my honest opinion. I was under no obligation to provide a positive review and received no monetary compensation.

In Times Gone By: Golden Gate Secrets Book 3 is by Tracie Peterson. This book takes place in San Francisco just after the quake of 1906. This devastating quake ignited fires which then helped to destroy the rest of the town. By morning, rescuers were out trying to find people in the rubble of the buildings. The army came in to help with looting and to set up shelters and provide food for the survivors. The army also put able bodied people to work clearing the streets of rubble. Unfortunately, some members of the armed forces became trigger happy and killed some innocent people. Chaos reigned for several days. Finally, the day came when order was in place and talk of recover and rebuilding began.
Kenzie Gifford who had come to San Francisco to recover from having her groom not show the day of her wedding. It had been four years and she was free to love again if she could find the courage to try. She was staying and working at a warehouse that Caleb, a friend of hers, owned. Caleb Coulter was engaged to Judith Whitley and they planned to turn the warehouse into a home for women and children who were abused or homeless. Working with them were Caleb’s sister Cambri and her fiancé, Patrick Murdock. Judith had come to find her family only to lose all of them, except a cousin who was in a Swiss boarding school. Virginia was upset to find Judith had been reinstated in her Grandmother’s will and now Judith was guardian of Virginia and her inheritance. Add Kenzie’s former fiancé to this mix and you have problems.
The well-written book has no perceivable errors and has well-developed characters who draw the reader in. The descriptions of San Francisco in the aftermath of the earthquake seem to very realistic and historically correct as are the relief efforts and donations from all over the world. It is an intriguing glimpse into the past.

Surprise! I finished it!
In the end, it wasn't the worst book of my life. Like. I've definitely read worse. I've dnf-ed a lot worse books. That said, it wasn't the best book I've ever read either.
The fact that Tracie Peterson has many books under her belt and many fans waiting the arrival of each of her books, while it makes me curious as to whether or not her other books are any more my cup of tea, means she's not going to miss my readership. I didn't care for the writing style. I said "too much telling, not enough showing."
The problems are resolved without too much effort.
And, like, it's fine to resolve things without killing all the characters or not maiming them or putting them through the wringer a whole bunch of times, but I still wish to have decked some characters.
Camri wasn't as oppressive as originally she had been.
So. I didn't hate it. It was a quick read. It definitely was better than the first one. I just felt like it lacked something necessary.

After Kenzie Gifford is left at the altar, she vows to guard her heart from falling in love. Dr. Micah Fisher is determined to make her fall in love with him. When her ex fiancé reenters her life to win her back, will Kenzie be free of her past and finally open her heart to love again?

I loved this book! Out of all the books in this San Francisco series, Kenzie’s story was my favorite. I loved getting to see the old character’s perspectives seeing Judith and Caleb and Camri with Patrick have their own perspective was interesting. I really loved how Tracie Peterson set the plot out during a time of chaos and destruction during the great earthquake. We saw the need for doctors and how the town was scrambling even the rich to hold the city together. I loved the historical component of the mayor and Ruef being actual corrupt figures in history who were prosecuted for their crimes. Micah was my favorite I loved how patient and loving he was with Kenzie even when her ex fiancé returned. The plot with her ex and with Victoria Whitley made the story more interesting. I felt Kenzie’s character changed more than Micah’s as she began to trust him and assist him as a nurse. At the end, I really was satisfied with the endings to all the characters in the series as well as the epilogue which made me emotional. I loved my journey with these characters and they will be missed!

This continues the story of three young women who met on a train to San Francisco, each with their own agenda. They are at different levels of faith. All of the books teach a full understanding of Christian faith, and the characters all grow in their lives through that faith. Its during a time of great corruption within the city, which they are fighting to keep their businesses and homes. This story happens during the big earthquake. Even with the struggles they have personally, they reach out to the displaced and provide shelter and food. Each girl has a man in the story, and each has a degree of wealth. However they also encounter difficulties being without wealth. Mix in love, danger, struggles in figuring out where their path goes, and desires to be part of a family - which they form by their closeness and support of one another. Tracie Peterson's stories never disappoint! A full, rich story that you'll be glad you spent the time with. Isn't that the most gorgeous cover?

I absolutely loved this book. I can honestly say that I would love for this series to come to us as a movie or Hallmark mimiseries.

Tracie Peterson manages to tell Kenzie's story and wrap up all the loose ends from Camri and Judith stories at the same time without taking away from her Story.

I do wish that Victoria would have been handled differently, like Reuff leaving her penniless and forcing her into the business and her being rescued by the trio...or ending up with Arthur and learning money can't buy happiness or better yet. the girls finding out about her mischief giving her a good old fashioned licking and shipping her back to finishing school. I just feel she was let off too easily and not handled as thoroughly as the rest of the characters.

I love the development of the Solid Rock complex and them each builing a house on the property. I do think it unrealistic to not place a kitchen in those home in order to take meals with the residents. I think that was a little over the top.

All and all I really likes this series and would be hard pressed to choose a favorite out of the three but if I just had to...it would be this one.

I read the previous two books in this series, and this one is my favorite!

I think it's my favorite because I really connected with the main character, Kenzie Gifford. I related well to her personality and her personal background. She was a sweet character who had overcome many challenges in her life but was afraid to take the steps forward she knew would lead to happiness.

Tracie Peterson is one of my all-time favorite authors, and as usual she did not disappoint on the historical facts and ambience presented in this story. As a fan of all things historical, I greatly enjoyed her 'Regarding the Historical Facts' narrative at the end of the book. In this section, the author gave an account of the true events and true historical figures she used to build this fabulous series. She is a master of writing historical fiction!

****This book is completely clean in language and content! :0}

Highly recommended to fans of California/San Francisco history, fans of early twentieth-century history, fans of historical romance, fans of inspirational/Christian fiction, and readers of clean romance/clean fiction.

I borrowed this book from the local public library.

Set right after the 1906 Earthquake in San Francisco, the story opens with Kenzie Gifford and friends. Kenzie is sealing her heart against love, due to being left at the alter. Dr. Micah Fisher believes she is worth the wait, though, and pursues her honestly and slowly. With the aftermath of the earthquake, Kenzie and her friends are staffing a shelter for displaced persons. This keeps them quite busy, along with Kenzie’s search for her uncle, a chocolatier who has been unheard from in several days. Luckily he is found soon enough and the relief efforts continue. Ex-fiancé Arthur appears on the scene to add intrigue to the plot.
I’ve read all 3 books in the series and I think that is extremely helpful in knowing the characters. This book gave an interesting portrayal of the city after the earthquake. It spoke of the clean-up work, the martial law, the corruption of government, and the efforts of all the citizens to bring San Francisco back to life.
Thanks to Bethany House for providing me an ARC for a review in my own words.

In Times Gone By is a nice conclusion to the Golden Gate Secrets series. There are a lot of entertaining elements. The life after the earthquakes and the reconstruction that happens was exciting and interesting to read about. Their shelter home, the army control, the medical needs, and the rebuilding were all excellent story bits that made a vivid setting. Victoria's storyline was an intriguing addition. She had such a different perspective, and I was glad that no one fell for her schemes. I would have liked a little more wrap up with her storyline since we did hear from her perspective so many times throughout the book, but I was satisfied with the information given. Kenzie and Micah's story was exciting and romantic. I was very glad that Kenzie was able to decide things for herself and not need proof to see what was happening before her. The three tales wrapped up in a happy and settled fashion. It was nice to see everything play out the way it did. Judith's story was my favorite, but each book held its own as an enjoyable endeavor.

I loved this series ; this author continually surprises me with each book I read . It is never assumed that the characters are Believers , nor is someone presumed to have evil intent. It's a joy to go "on the ride ", and walk with the characters as they live their lives in a different historical time than my present ! :) I also love how each character doesn't always know what they'll do in trying or joyful circumstances . I love experiencing their character developments along with them . Finally , Tracie Peterson does a great job of giving the characters and readers "endings " that are not always predictable , and definitely give the reader an excuse to sigh and breathe up until the last page ! :)

The final book in this series about life in San Francisco in the early 1900s. Three women meet each other while traveling to SF on a train -- all for their own reasons. They become friends and band together to help each other in the individual quest. Each book follows one of the three women. In this one, Kenzie, is the main character. She is suffering after being left at the altar and now does not want to trust or love again. However, Dr. Micah Fisher is enthralled with her and is determined to win her heart. This book picks up where #2 ended - with the great SF earthquake and the devastation it wrought.

It is a sweet, Christian novel about people helping each other & others and trying to follow God in the midst of tragedy. No sex or profanity.

I enjoyed reading this series about three friends adventure in San Francisco. I learnd a little about the great earthquake of 1906 which is why I like to read historical fiction. Watching the friendship of Camri, Judith and Kenzie develope and finding their loves, was very enjoyable. They went through several problems and learned to trust in God to pull them through. It always amazes me that people can get so close to each other and help out in times of trouble, but soon forget and turn back to their old ways. Just like after 911, our chruches where filled for a few weeks then people forget about God and go back to their old ways. Like Kenzie says at the end of the book, "If I had she had done it her way, it would have been a life without the attention to God and His direction."

I loved this ending to the series! To be honest, I didn't really like Kenzi all that much in the first two books. She was downright mean to Micah, to the point I really didn't understand why he loved her or kept pursuing her. However, in this book I got to know her better and see that she really did love Micah, she was just extremely hurt and afraid. Of course, then her stupid ex-fiance has to show up. What a jerk! When he kept calling her his "wife" and saying she couldn't break her vows, I was like, "dude, she never married you! STOP!!" But, of course, we're supposed to hate the guy. I also loved how all three couples were featured. Some might say the ending was cheesy, but I absolutely loved it!

Golden Gate Secrets Book #3

Tracie once again with all three books in this series hit a home run for me! Sharing God's Word and seeing the main Characters grow stronger in His Word and faith ,love caring for each other had them coming through each circumstance coming closer to living an amazing life fill with love as God would have them! Calrb, Camariann, Judith, Micah, Kenzie and Patrick all ended in marriages that God could have only blessed! Dr. Micah Fisher, Attorney Caleb Coulter, and Patrick Murddock Construction Company owner, fought through trails before they all saw 1906 San Francisco's city( the worst was Earthquake& Fire) relax a bit! Thanks for the love of God you share in your Stories!! Forgive misspellings please know from my heart how much I truly enjoy your stories! They make me feel I'm a part and sometimes like I'm there.

In Times Gone By is the third installment from Tracie Peterson‘s Golden Gate Secrets series. I believe this one is my favorite from the series. I instantly felt connected to Kenzie. Especially, when her strength showed through when tragedy strikes and how she started to change. I enjoyed the historical details, making me want to learn more about the events.

I give In Times Gone By a well-deserved 5+ stars. I highly recommend it. It is such a wonderful and inspiring story.

I received this book from the publisher, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

This is the third novel in the Golden Gate Secret Series. It takes place just after the great earthquake and fires of 1906. The devastation and destruction caused to thousands, is mind boggling. There were so may deaths and injures and hospitals destroyed. Along with corruption in politics, it made for a very hard time. This last book in the series is about Kenzie Gifford, who has fled to San Francisco after being left at the altar. Dr. Micah Fisher is one of my favorite characters from this series. I am glad to see him get his own story. Kenzie can not trust herself. She knows she is falling for the doctor, but is afraid to make another mistake, when it comes to love.

a very sweet ending to a Christian Historical fiction series by my favorite author of that genre! i started this series years ago and never finished it until now. the narrator isn’t amazing but the audiobook was perfect to have on while doing chores. i didn’t need to pay much attention as this genre follows a very similar plot structure in every book and up until 2021 it was all i really read, so i knew how it would play out but i enjoyed it nonetheless. i recommend any of Tracie’s books if you want a simple Christian historical romance. by far my favorite author in the Christian historical fiction genre.

This is the third and last in the series. Kenzie is afraid to love again after being left at the altar, but the doctor is working on her heart. But just when she begins to trust, her former groom-to-be shows up with quite the story. Will Kenzie be able to sort out fact from fiction? This is a good ending to the series, telling not only Kenzie's story but also wrapping up the stories of her friends--all who met on the train heading to San Fransisco for one reason or another. Faith and love and trust mix together for a satisfying finish.
