I am a big San Francisco Giants fan. Living in Iowa at the time, I still went to World Series games in San Francisco in 2010, 2012, and 2014. Bruce Bochy is a great manager. After winning another World Series with the Texas Rangers, there should be no doubt that he will go into the Hall of Fame.

This book is a combination of a glimpse into the Giants organization under Bochy and advice to leaders in business from Bochy based on how he ran things as a Giant. While I do think this book should be required reading for all baseball managers, I don't think a lot of what was stated transfers to other businesses. This book made me look back at the places I have worked and speculate as to how the concepts could have been implemented.

There were some editorial mistakes also.

This is a book about developing leadership skills, which I didn’t know when I picked it up. The interviews with Bochy and Giants players were great as was the story of their three recent World Series wins. Lots of wonderful pictures too!
