Nandini Mahasena has to marry within two weeks. If she didn’t marry the man her parents had chosen for her, they would lose everything.
Nandini wasn’t willing to sacrifice her life for the sake of paying her father’s gambling debts.
And the groom, while handsome and very successful, was not the kind her parents would ever pick under ideal circumstances. In fact, he would be the most unsuitable groom since he didn't have a long line of royal ancestors like Nandini's family. But something about the groom’s proposal touched Nandini's heart.
Will Nandini agree to marry the man her parents had picked? Find out in—The Proposal
Note: This is a fictional short story with an approximate length of 4500 words or 25 pages. It is a lighthearted and clean romance that is meant for entertainment purposes only.
Book Title: The Proposal Author: M.V.Kasi Format: Kindle Book
Book Title: The title of the book ‘ The Proposal ‘ is interesting.
Book Cover : The book cover is an art image of a Couple dressed up in an Indian Wedding attire where the man is proposing the woman for marriage.
Plot: The story starts with the wedding alliance that an elderly couple selects for their younger daughter. A typical Old fashioned wealthy family is who is now almost bankrupt and the plan made to clear off the debts is the main subject of the story. Getting the daughters married into wealthy families to clear the debts has been an old practice since ages. The same situation is faced by the female protagonist in the story. She shows her reluctance in marrying a stranger to save her own family and faces a lot of emotional blackmail from the family. The story concludes on how she manages the whole situation.
What I liked: 1. The female protagonist’s fight against the age-old traditions in the name of family name & status 2. The male protagonist’s approach towards the female in convincing the marriage. 3. The bond between the female protagonist and her elder sister.
What I didn’t like: 1. The length of the story could have been longer.
The final twist in the story relieves the reader’s curiosity in a surprising way.
Characters: The characters are aptly scripted with engaging emotions.
Narration: The narration is simple and good.
Language and Vocabulary: Lucid language is used.
My Final Verdict—. A tea-time short read with a message.
Book title: 3/5 Book Cover: 3/5 Plot: 4/5 Characters: 3/5 Narration: 3/5 Language and Vocabulary: 3/5
Well-written, breezy short story. Taking care of the needs of their kids, parents sometime forget that children have their own thought process and interests. Sometimes they (parents) become selfish too. Loved the twist at the end!
This is a story of Nandani and the proposal she gets for marriage. The smart twist and the fast pace was perfect for me. I read it and enjoyed it and now I want to read Meenaksi's story. The proposal is a sweet story. Royalty too falls in love 😉
An amazing quick read to fill your heart with love.
“I am not marrying a stranger! Let alone in two weeks’ time!” Nandini was a strong-headed person and found it unfair of her parents to arrange a match for her for their benefit. She was not an asset to be traded like that. She would definitely not bend her morals and marry a complete stranger yet still she agrees to meet him for her sister’s sake. But she would not make it easy for the prospective groom to sweep her off her feet in just one meeting. “Do you like what you see? Or do you want me to turn so that you can see my backside, too? And maybe my teeth, too,” she asked. The man didn’t look embarrassed. In fact, he was smiling at her. “I’ve already seen you before from a distance, Miss Mahasena. Unless I missed out on a tail or a set of horns, you still look as beautiful as I remember.” Rajiv was a confident gentleman who was sure to make this girl his bride. Despite her rudeness and insults, his resolve to convince her by his charms didn’t waver. “I’m used to working hard and achieving whatever I want, Nandini. I guess I’ll have to impress you enough and convince you to pick me as your groom rather than some other man.” This story was fascinating. The strong female lead, not ready to marry a stranger and a charming male lead, ready to go through any challenge to bewitch her and make her agree to marry him. Such a simple concept elaborated most beautifully in few words. MV Kasi has an unique talent to execute her words beautifully, whether it is a short story or an elaborated one; her words are magic. I am falling in love with her writing; it’s just perfect and tantalizing. I recommend this book to every reader who wants a full package of hate and love in a short period. I am eagerly looking to read the story of Meenakshi.
If You Happen To Be Just Discovering The Fascinating & Exciting World Woven By M.V. KASI Then There Could Be No Better Way Than To Start With ‘The Proposal’ A Short Tender & Yet Capricious Tale That Has A Vicious Twist Towards The End. Nothing Quite Prepares You For The Climax As The Smooth Wordsmith Virtually Turns The Story On It’s Head Barely A Few Sentences Into The Unexpected Climax. ‘The Proposal’ Seems Like An Ordinary Story Of Parents Emotionally Blackmailing Their Daughter NANDINI MAHADENA Into A Forced Marriage To Wriggle Out Of Bad Gambling Debts Of Her Father. The Bride To Be Seems Reluctant To Toe The Line As She No Longer Wants To Be The Sacrificial 🐐 Bailing Out Her Father Yet Once Again For His Misdeeds. The Groom Rajeev Raheja Well Heeled Willing To Provide The Financial Net To Her Family In Return For The Hand Of Nandini Seems To Simple For A Story To Be Heading Towards..Almost Like An Unbelievable Modern Day 🧚♂️ Tale. But Looking Back, That Is The Perfect Foil For What Is To Follow In The Climax. The Short Story May Seem A Tad Too Short Even By Standards Of A Short Story But It Is This Very Factor That Makes ‘The Proposal’ Taut & Suspenseful Just When You Think It Is Nothing More Than A Lived Happily Ever After Romantic Tale!!!
I am pleasantly surprised after reading The Proposal by MV Kasi. If you have read any of her other books, you will be too :D.
It is a clean romance and a short story. These two points in themselves are surprising considering MV Kasi's writing :) I love MV Kasi's novels. They are big books with a fast paced story mixed with erotic episodes. So this short story was a complete pleasant surprise.
I loved it. It is a complete story within its short span. The excitement, suspense is throughout the story.
The characters are few but each powerfully portrayed. The language is good. Story flow is smooth and compact. The royal atmosphere is prominent in the story. Even in this short story MV Kasi has brought out strong woman protagonist with thought provoking values. She has a knack for getting out societal norms which are laughable in this age but we still follow them blindly.
Loved how she has made it a cliff hanger. Waiting for the full fledged novel of this one, MV Kasi :)
The proposal is a quick, witty, clean short read. It was a breeze reading, and I finished it within 15 minutes. It’s a story of Nandini Mahasena and Rajeev Raheja but there’s one more story that goes parallel or rather proliferates at the end. And that is of Meenakshi and Hiten. The writing is simple. The story maintains a smooth steady pace. But what I liked most is the cover art. All in all, a good short read for anyone who loves reading clean romances with a happily ever after.
I really liked the story, loved it even. But I wish it was longer. I wanted to get the story behind Nandini and Rajeev's lovestory. But there could have been so so much more. At least another one or two chapters. But it's good, it's a sweet and short story. It left me smiling and made me curious to read the older sister's story and that quickly became one of my most favourite stories ever so yay! Loved both books! ♥️
A quick read with a cup of coffee and a mind to discern a twisty plot. From the beginning, the plot is very much predictable and moves in a straight line. There's nothing great about it, rather just an interesting read.
I first read Until Forever and then came to read The Proposal. Nandhini's story was very short but it was nice. Few facts were different from Until Forever but it's ok. I liked this book
A nice short read with a unique twist at the end. Having read and loved author's previous works this book was no different. Loved the unique ending though. Eager to read the next part of the series.
A very beautifully written short story. This is probably my first time that I'm reading MV Kasi's book and I loved it. The details of the story and the emotions of every character added the essence of the plot. Amazing read it was!
