My god this book was a disaster of epic proportions.
*this review contains spoilers and is long and full of bitching*
I read Silver Swan shortly after it came out and was not impressed. I chose to read the Broken Puppet and was mildly pleased, Tacet was meant to be a conclusion for the main couple and I forced myself to at least finish this up.
The author needs to look up the definition of the word.
Tacet is long drawn out scenes that were often confusing for me as a reader. Scenes switched every other paragraph. The characters would be one place and the next paragraph they were another having a full-blown different conversation with no warning.
Bishops POV was almost verbatim of Madisons, I kid you not I had to go back a few times because he used the exact same phrases in his dialogue she had just a page or two ago. It didn't help the author gave zero warning whatsoever when it was their POV, you as a reader were left to figure it out based off speech. Also, what was up with the usage of dawg, bro, and cuz? All the king boys sounded the same.
The editing of this book was terrible. Period. And no I didn't receive an ARC. I bought this off of Amazon.
There were scenes from the first book repeated just from Bishops Pov and were unnecessary. Things were revealed and then glossed over with no further discussion. The twists were sporadic and made no sense to the storyline whatsoever.
My biggest pet peeve with this book is the absolute filler that it was. The whole first 60-70% of the book could be wiped out and you wouldn't miss anything. I saw some of these twists coming far before they were 'revealed'. Tillie leaving because she was pregnant? Cliche and figured as much. Katsia not being the last of her bloodline? well, no shit, I knew that would be resolved.
The amusement park scene was pointless. Did they go there to sit on the Ferris wheel and have a hug? It added nothing.
The constant playlist banter with song titles being dropped EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES drove me batshit. I don't listen to the same songs this author does, I had no idea who half these people were so me knowing the name of the song did nothing but pull me out of the story. There was legit almost an entire chapter where Bishop and Madison sat on a plane and exchanged the name of songs back and forth. Come the fuck on! Why? Why did I need to read any of that?
Now let me tell you where the biggest mess was and how I can't fathom all the high ratings this got.
The only real action scene of the book. 'The epic moment' quick sidenote-this author has a habit of being way OTT when it comes to these moments and making them extremely unrealistic.
Nate gets stabbed in the stomach, Bishop's mom gets shot in the throat, Bishops gets shot in the stomach, Dameon (madisons brother) slits his own throat. Madison turns badass for 1 second, and chaos ensues and then ends within a few words.
Let me break this scene down real quick and why it's a huge issue for me.
Nate gets stabbed in the stomach, yet the next scene he's on the plane sitting fine as can be. Bishops mom gets shot and dies but it is never brought back up again. Bishop doesn't even mourn her AT ALL! Daemon just offs himself which IMO was lazy on the authors part and she just wanted to get rid of him. Bishop was shot but on the plane is smiling and has Madison's head in his lap, having flashbacks and thinking life is grand. WTF???? Did that last chapter of a sloppy shit storm not just happen?
It gets worse, hold onto your seatbelts.
Madison goes 'badass' after crying on the ground overBishop and her brother. She hops up and stabs Katsia in the jugular, who's only response was her eyes to go wide. At this point, I need someone to hold my beer. Katsia is ALREADY DEAD. Dameon started this whole chapter by slitting her throat. The bitch is on the ground dead, not a lil dead. DEAD. Did the author forget? Did the editor miss that? so how the fuck did Madison rekill her? Lemme guess, she waited to bleed out so she could be stabbed in her already slit throat. LMAO
Wait, it gets better.
Bishop, the guy who was just shot and lying on the ground, wraps his arm around Madison to comfort her and hold her. How the fuck? WTF? Did medics rush in and fix him to full health with a magic wand? And Nate was there too. I CAN NOT. This whole thing was rushed through and totally surreal even for fiction.
Then on the plane, everything is hunky dory. Madison's asleep. Bishop is reminiscing about her socks or some shit, and everyone else is chilling. like ummmmm, what?
I could keep going. point out how Madison kept wanting Nate but 'loved' both her friends. Bitch no. Don't use your 'feelings' as a reason to be a ho. And the whole Khales thing? Now through the whole of book 1 and 2, we were told Bishop and Khales had this 'relationship' it's what he was known for. Yet he can't stand her now and she was slut-shamed the entire book for sleeping with daddy bishop yet its okay for Madison to fap-slap all the kings? Oh, okay.
Nothing was resolved. The author just wrote a book so you could all the other books in this series. Adding in so much b.s I got tired. It's obvious how nates book will go because this author likes to recycle her male 'heros?'
Finally, did I really need a deleted scene of Madison fucking her BROTHERS (all 3) and the kings? No, I did not. I've just wasted 2 hours reading about her miraculous womanly elure they can't resist.
Going to bleach my brain now. (this review is clearly my personal opinion and I'm a minority. You might love this book.)
TACET A MORTUIS : Is the third full length New Adult novel in Amo Jones ‘Elite Kings Club’ series.
That ending in ‘The Broken Puppet’ had me reeling, scratching my head trying to unravel the words I’d just read. Everything I thought I knew just like Madi was a lie. The only thing I can say with this series is keep your wits about you and expect the unexpected because no body knows what this author is going to throw at you, and that’s what made this one such a thrilling ride!!
So we had people arriving back from the dead One boy who we'd fallen in love with didn't make it Lies and deceit still walked hand in hand Tillie yet again goes missing
Such an intricate series, even I struggled to break it down, separate tales branching off but interwoven and come back to make a full story. So many new insights into the storyline, slowly it all came together. Twists and turns that had my heart pumping, this was very cleverly done, god this author has come such a long way, her story telling and her use of words, how effortlessly she has us the readers eating out of the palm of her hand, the storyline it all just captures you as soon as you start reading her written words.
I'm done!! My head is just about to explode. This series, godamn this series put me through it's paces, the good, the bad and the f#cking ugly!! So to sum it up the previous two books didn't really hit me in the feels, AT ALL!! I was too focused on trying to work out what in the hell was happening!! BUT this one did, it came at me like a bat swinging and hit me right in the heart, they came at me out of nowhere. The angst, the feels, the heart break, the love I feel for these characters though it did take some time to connect to these guys in the end they wormed their way into my heart that I'm kind of at that stage where I don't want this series to end. There is just so much packed into these books that to even try and comprehend it into a mere sentence can not be done. If you've not read this series go and buy the box set and do what I did, binge read these back to back, sit back, turn off life and get your read on!!
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: ❤️💙💜💛💚 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📔📙 World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎🌏 Character development: 👤👤👤👤👤
The setting: The Hamptons, New York
The Hero(s):Bishop Vincent Hayes – The leader of the Elite Kings Club. Bishop still won’t commit to a relationship with Madison or even admit to loving her but boy does he get angry when she gets a bit frisky with Nate and Brantley.
The heroine:Madison Montgomery (a.k.a. The Silver Swan) - she is still trying to find out more about this crazy world of the Elite Kings Club and the more she finds out the crazier it gets. When she finds out some big secrets that Bishop has been keeping from her, she spirals and does some things she regrets.
The Love Story: Bishop and Madison have an intense connection. Just when I think this world can’t get any crazier, it does. However, the one thing that is good in this is the love between these two. You can tell it isn’t going away and no matter how dangerous their world is, Bishop will protect Madison.
I thought towards the end, it would start settling down a bit but the action, adventure, secrets and mysteries kept up all the way through the book. Also it was super steamy and sizzling hot. The passion between Bishop and Madison was through the roof. They both like it a bit rough so there was that as well.
Again, I love all the supporting characters, and they all played a part in this one as well. There are more that I am hoping will have stories of their own in the future because these people and this psycho world is continuing to be interesting like nobody’s business.
I don’t really understand the whole thing about killing the silver swan’s. I understand how it began with Humphrey who was obviously crazy. But in this day and age, why don’t they do away with it. I mean it seems that the people that have it done are the people in control (The Elite Kings Club) so why not just end the practice?
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.
Um....So this book is...Yeah, I don't even know. It's been almost two days since I finished Tacet a Mortuis and I still haven't been able to come up with any words that I can put into sentences that actually describe this book. Honestly though that's pretty much how I've felt since the beginning of this series. And the weird part is I somehow like that these books can confuse me so much.
What I can say about the story is that it was extremely captivating. I went into it pretty nervous that I wouldn't remember much about the past installments and would be lost but that actually didn't happen. The author didn't really go back and explain anything that had already occurred, but this book does start off with the scene that ended the last book so then as the story moved on I fell right back into these characters and a was able to remember a ton of what happened. From there it was just one excitement after the next and I didn't want to put the book down.
However, even though I was intrigued by what was going on there was a handful of scenes that I just didn't feel were necessary to the story. A few times the book did feel like it was starting to drag and I just didn't understand why certain things were distracting away from the main storyline. It was mostly drama between Madison and Bishop that just felt forced into the story and didn't really flow with everything going on. They have a very weird and volatile relationship which I've been liking throughout this story but there were parts in this book that I honestly didn't see any connection between them. By the end they made up for all that drama but it was still on my mind a little.
This book definitely leaves us with a ton of new questions and even older questions that still have not been answered. My head is still spinning trying to figure out what exactly is going on. I do like that fact a little, that this story has me so involved that I'm just dying to know what is going on, but at the same this is apparently going to be a 13 book story and I just don't know if I can go that long with feeling this confused over things. For now though I'm hella intrigued and will definitely be waiting to dive into the next book, which I believe will follow different main characters but still be set in this world and plot.
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
yeah, I sounded like that before reading, somewhat during the reading...
BUT then it hit me... this is NOT a conclusion...at all
How fucking wrong was I?
The "answers" I needed and were hinted at the end of book 2, were just pulled on repeat during this read and after just 60% I realized I havent 'learned' anything new, while I was blindsided by the steamy and exillirating sex scenes, some unnecessary actions that were supposed to provoke angst, but instead they only brought annoyance towards the heroine-Madison, the Silver Swan, the girl I loved right up until this third book in the series.... *sigh*
yes, some secrets were revealed...
yes, truths or lies were handled, each in their own way...
yes, the expressive emotional segment was highly intensified between Madison & Bishop, which actually ended up with me LOVING Bishop more than Madison...so, yeah
But all in all, I felt like nothing essentially was actually 'revealed' until the last 15% of the story when I was bombarded with vivid gore of explicit and highly adrenaline pent up scenes that made my pulse rush on its own agenda, building me towards another expectation of another lingering secret...
So, while that part was fuckin awesome, Amo Jones stayed in the realms of excellent, captivating writing...but it also made me wonder what was actually happening, while I kept spinning in circles of lies, secrets and lies and awesome sex and then BAM, it brought the unexpected notion that there was more to come...
So fuck it...
Dammit...i kinda wished it all got its closure with this installment.

Ever heard of the term Mind Blow? This book is it.
If you haven't read the other two books, you need to read it before you start this or else you'll be so confused. If you've read this series before, I'd still say this " the first 30% of this book is a cluster f***". In the best possible way, of course. You will go from " I am so overwhelmed!" To "what the hell is happening?". But have no fear...the information overload is gratifying. Now that the confusion has been clarified...can we Please talk about Madison and Bishop? Especially Bishop... How is it that I can't help but love Bishop even when he is cruel, mean and brisk? Probably because he is freaking amazing! Bishop is not your typical hero..but in a way that's what makes him so irresistible to so many readers.
Madison... Hmmm... I'm ok with her.. I still find her ridiculously immature at times. But hey.. c'est la vie. I will say this, Madison and Bishop's chemistry is undeniable.
Tacet a Mortuis is intense, gritty and full of plot twist and Revelations that will leave you reeling.
After finishing this last night I browsed the ratings, sure I’d find some likeminded people, but 4 stars? 5 stars? Really people??
I’m guessing the people who gave this book 5 stars are die hard Amo Jones fans who automatically give out this rating despite the actual content of the book, or under the age of 18 in which case this book probably isn’t appropriate for you anyway. Firstly, where was the editing before this was published?? The grammar is awful in many places and there are misplaced apostrophes scattered throughout the book. It’s one thing to write a book about teenagers and put their own lingo in quotes when a teenage character is speaking, but for most of the book Amo Jones’ prose reflects this immaturity as well.
Secondly, WTF is up with all the SONGS named throughout the book? Like another reviewer said, I don’t share the same musical tastes with Amo Jones so if she was trying to infuse a specific meaning or feeling into the book by using these song names that was lost on me because I had no idea what the fuck the song was. And if you’re a writer and you’re using song titles to make the reader feel a certain ambiance, that’s a cop out anyway.
I forgave the childish writing and rap artist name-dropping in the previous 2 books because the content was edge-of-your-seat. The questions piled up and we were led to believe we’d get some answers with Tacet. Unfortunately about 70% of this book is Bishop & Maddie going back and forth in their “relationship”, having sex, fighting, making joint playlists that show the reader how much they love each other, etc. etc., pure teenage bullshit. Then there’s 15% of Maddie acting like a whore, going to parties in the sluttiest clothes possible, getting wasted, almost hooking up with other Kings, etc. Any time we do come close to finding out anything, Maddie says that she “can’t handle this right now” and goes back to fucking Bishop or complaining to Tatum. Even when she finds out that someone close to her knows something about Tillie, who went missing suddenly in book 2, she doesn’t follow up on it because it’s not the right time and that person is dealing with too much for her to press the subject further. Ok, I hope if I ever go missing that my friends are a little more dedicated to my well being than that.
Thirdly…(Fourthly?) where is the flow and organization in this book? I swear, at one point Maddie called Tatum over (whom she started calling Tate in this book because they’re superclose and stuff) to her house, Tate shows up with a bunch of junk food which they start eating, I turn to the next page and it’s the next day – NO indication that they went to bed, that there was any time passing whatsoever. I figured it out on my own cuz I have a decent sized brain, but kinda seems like Amo was sleep deprived the day she wrote that part because it doesn’t make ANY sense. There are other cases of this as well, read for yourself and highlight away.
Amo also decided to switch POVs in this book, which-whatever, but I don’t really need to read from Bishop’s POV how much he really loves Maddie and would “fucking kill for her”, then switch back to Maddie’s POV and Bishop is ignoring her again. I don’t see the point or advantage in giving us these changing perspectives. There’s also no indication as to WHOSE POV we are reading from when the chapter changes – no character name at the chapter header or anything, and it’s all first person so it’s not until you start getting into a conversation with other characters that you know whose perspective you’ve switched to. Great decision making there.
We’re pretty much strung along for the ENTIRE book, given little bits and pieces of ridiculous information that I guess is supposed to explain some of the questions in the first 2 books but really only incite more curiosity, which is never satisfied because Maddie can only handle certain amounts of information before her tiny teenage brain wants to explode. Then in the last 15% shit goes off the rails and everything is finished and wrapped up super quickly. Which begs the question - so maybe I’m not remembering something from the first two books but are we really supposed to believe that Katsia is the only reason why Swans are being killed? I don’t recall this ever being hinted at or stated previously, and supposedly they can’t get rid of Katsia because she’s the last of her blood line, but you’re telling me that all the Elite Kings and members of the Circle have no say in the murder of baby girls born into the Elite Kings lineage because of Katsia? Hmmm….what a very simple solution that turned out to be for a very complicated seeming, built-up-over-three-books problem. Kinda seems like one of those examples of authors writing themselves into a corner and then having to figure out how to easily get out of it. Before starting another series, might I suggest going back to the basics of English lit and creating an outline.
I did like the violent vision Daemon has at the end of the book which involves the death of many main characters. Thanks to “Trickery” for the best scene in the book, even if it didn’t turn out to be real. And speaking of Daemon, it’s funny to me how close Maddie claims to be to him even though she’s only really known him for a few weeks. Sure, he’s her twin brother, who was raised as a brainwashed assassin and only speaks Latin and who SHOT her, but apparently they’re so close that other characters have heard “stories about their bond.” Ha! What a joke. Maddie “bonds” irreversibly and unquestionably with apparently everyone, even if they’ve done unspeakable things to her in her past. The Kings all want her, even if they find out they’re related to her by blood. She says Tatum is her BFF, but also Tillie, but especially Tatum even though Tate’s head over heels for Nate, whom Maddie nearly sleeps with. And speaking of Nate, did anyone else start laughing at the scene where (in front of her PARENTS) he steals a tear from her cheek and sucks it into his mouth??
So basically: Maddie is a whore who will fuck anyone, including her own stepbrother who she loves like a brother, except for when she wants to fuck him. (Can someone over the age of 18 please give Maddie a non-sexual spanking and send her to her room please? Girl needs to be grounded FOR LIFE)
Maddie and Bishop are a fucked up couple who shouldn’t be together, but will continue to mentally and emotionally abuse each other until they run out of songs to add to their joint playlist.
EVERYONE is involved in this conspiracy, even random guys at school and librarians.
I can’t even go on with this nonsense.
And let’s not even start on the “deleted” scene at the end which is basically just the author satisfying her pornographic appetite, whaaaaaaat the actual fuck did we need that for. I’m all for erotica but please. Such a strange addition to the conclusion..
I give it 2 stars for stringing me along to the finish line because I cared at least enough to get some answers. What a MESS!! And that ending – pathetic attempt to keep people invested in the series. Will not continue. Other reviewers say this is supposed to be 13 books long??
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
What in the hell did Amo Jones rain down on me? If I thought she had messed with my brain before with the two preceding books of the series, I hadn’t seen anything yet. Tacet a Mortuis pummeled me with its raw, gritty, and almost abrasive doses of harsh non-reality.
Throughout this story, I was confused, frustrated, at peace, and then aggravated all over again. While I got a lot of answers to my unasked questions, in the end I’m left with so many new questions. So imagine how happy I was when I got to the end and saw that a fourth book, Malum, will be coming out. I really hope it continues in the voices of Bishop and Madison because their story is most definitely not over. AND I’m not interested in reading from anyone else’s perspective.
Time to break it down without actually breaking it down. I’m not spoiling this story for anyone!
Madison ➺ kinda still wanted to push her head through some plated glass. ➺ still as immature and irrational as ever, however, I did see instances of her character growth so there’s hope for her yet. ➺ in reference to her immaturity, she continued to display poor decisions by doing wrong to Bishop because she felt wronged. She was the only wrong one IMO. ➺ the floetry was off at times. The characters would wax poetic about a topic at the most unbelievable moments. If you were fighting or running for your life, would you stop your partner and ask relationship questions? Oh Madison, you have no sense at times. "What did I do?" Yo, get out of the window. Why are you holding everyone up? You have no idea of the capabilities of the people after you yet you wanna stop and have a conversatio. How about you ask me what's up when we're NOT running to safety? ➺ it was great to see her get comfortable in her own skin and own the title of Silver Swan. ➺ loved her love for her family and friends. It made me like her more than ever before and I was crushed when her heart was irrevocably broken. ➺ I hope to see more of her evolution as a young woman in the book to come.
Bishop ➺ THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for FINALLY giving us his POV. ➺ Bishop was just as reckless and dangerous as ever, however, his perspective showed his heart and I loved the sweetness that hid so well beneath his darkness. ➺ this dude still OWNED me. I honestly couldn’t’ get enough of him. Even when he did wrong, there was just something about him that always made him appealing. ➺ at last, I know that Bishop’s feelings for Madison were genuine. And the times where he could be gentle and sensitive to her only made me love him more. ➺ anyone else get all tingly whenever Bishop is covered in someone else’s blood?
The Rest ➺ there are so many side stories going on, especially with Nate and Tillie, but I still don’t want the story to be about them. I want resolution, but not through their eyes. More Bishop please*fingers crossed* ➺ I’m hoping for a resurrection. It’s possible, right? This is fiction. I’m hoping that a character that I really started to get to know to come back somehow. Make it happen! ➺ the entire Katsia part of this story is causing a lot of conflict in my brain and I’m looking forward to how it will develop and evolve. ➺ some parts didn't make any sense. It sometimes read like... you ever talk with someone and they tell you part of a story and leave the rest to the imagination or they continue the story in their head but think they're saying it out loud? That's what it felt like. Like part of the story still lived in the author's head and I was supposed to understand it from the clues that were given.
One thing I can always rely on when it comes to this author is a story full of surprises. I NEVER know where it’s going to lead me, if there’s going to even be a happy ending, and whether my heart will remain whole or in pieces. It’s a guaranteed mindfrack every time and I ain’t complaining.
Release: 05.14.2018 | Dark Romance | Dual POV - 1st person | Heat: 3.5 | The Elite King’s Club #3
All views expressed are my own. 100% honest. 100% of the time!!
I really really really wanted to love book 3. I found myself getting a bit lost while reading each chapter. I had to go back and figure out who's POV I was reading. And yes I found spelling issues but Author has already been told and apology accepted. I felt like the Author was rushing to the finish line. So much information was provided in one chapter. I love books 1 and 2. I'm still a fan of this author she is a wonderful writer.
Good news is that my inner curious cat is officially dead, bad news? This book was same as the other two but the difference is that Madison got worse. So let me start from the beginning what happened in this book, Madison learns some shit about her past as always and guess what she does? This time its predictable af cuz she always does the same thing throughout the series. She gets Mad at Bishop and then makes out with the other kings 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ i dont get it, the kings claim to be loyal to one another then why the fuck is there no bro code. I am sooo done with this shit, all Madison can do is get Mad at bishop like a “badass” she is even tho she is the one who KEEPS SAYING THAT SHE IS READY TO KNOW ALL THE SECRETS. Huh, i mean...dude...at this point idk what to say. From the start of this series she was begging to know the truth about her past and claimed to be ready and when she finally got to know she makes out with the other kings. But also, this thing is not fully her fault tbh and yes for the first time in forever, i am not Blaming Madison for something cuz Bishop the confused idiot dude always, i mean al fucking ways hides shit from Madison...and those secrets are not even that dangerous as they claim to be, the king can be like Hey Madison what did you do today? She ll be like I just thought about your body in the class, thats what i always do, thats my favourite pass time even tho Bish.....and the kings ll say Oh okay, but for the record you know what this happened in your past, blah blah blah. Yes, they seriously didnt need to like chase her in the jungle, do some Hooobbaa Doobaaa, make her solve riddles ( ugh those riddles, they dont even make sense) and at the end be like WE CANT GIVE U ANS KITTY CUZ U.......YOU GOTTA BE NOT LAZY AND READ THE FUCKING BOOK. 🤦🏽♀️ Bishop, i dont really like him now, i used to but he is like such a control freak and not in a good way. Their relationship is so toxic, Bishop hides smtg from Madison, And she goes crying to other Kings, she really cant face her problems. The first two books were from Madison’s pov but there was Bisop’s pov in this one, so when bishop used to stare at Madison in the first two book she was like “ its so sexy, i cant move my fucking eyes from him. RAWR” and i was like THATS.... CUTE but after reading bishop’s pov i got to know that all those times when he used to stare at Madison which she thought was him being “protective and sexy”, in Bishop’s mind he was thinking 69 ways to smack her 😶 and people say romance is dead....
Okay so that was like the first 5 pages of the book 🙄 all Madison does in this series is dress up pretty and go to a party each time she has a fight with Bisop...not that its a bad thing but like maybe think while you are dressing up about going against the Kings, or like maybe ask them some questions.... it would have been nice but then i realised how the fuck can she do such thing, if she goes to the king and demands for answers like a strong girl she is ..... not how the fuck will she go to her room after them not giving her the answers and call her self “badass” 🤦🏽♀️🙄. Next what happens is Madison learns that Bishop’s father already planned that Madison and Bishop will have a thing between them not that it was like that poor guy knew it ll be a toxic thing between two idiots but that doesnt matter.... what matters is Madisons reaction after learning this. Ya know what she does? She doesnt beg, she doesnt cry, she doesnt call herself a badass, she says “ I DONT CARE” and i am like wow, niceee 😐. * miftahul secretly prays to god to give her more strength while reading * . I mean , huh, after knowing that Bishop’s feelings towards her at the beginning was all cuz of his father forced him Madison doesnt care cuz all she cares about is getting laid. She doesnt have a reaction, i mean.... i am so fucking tired 😂😂
Thats not love what is between Bishop and Madison, all they can think is about fucking each other, seriously they are better off as friends with benefits cuz i dont see “ love between them” all they love is fucking each other. Tillie and Nate has no chemistry at all, i read their book, i like tillie but i dont ship her with Nate. I literally read the whole series cuz of Tate, everyone in this book seems to use her and she doesnt deserve that seriously, i wish she gets her own book with Spyder who is Bishop’s cousin. They have some serious chemistry and they are the only characters i like. The whole “ lost boys living in the island like Barbie and the island princess” was so shit especially the ending. They had a war like shit where the kings had a plan, and then Madison along with the other girls decides to go “ support them” even they dont know shit and ends up ruining their plan which led to injuring many people. I mean what was the point of them going to the island when they cant do anything, i cant explain the ending but it was so confusing, i mean why go there when u cant do anything except cry or like go with a plan not a blank brain and a smirk.
In the last two books the “book” was so important but in this one they dont even mention that shit, and in the book Katsia was shown as like a good person but in real life she is evil and they dont even explain how or why, it was so contusing....the whole Katisa thing. I was so not explained, so many things didnt make sense. Ughh and the fact that these kings here are running after Madison and calling her their goddess are the same kings who forgets she even exists in Tillie’s book. In tillies book ( i wont review that shit, wont even rate it ) i kinds compared it with Be my brayshaw by meagan brandy, i know i shouldnt but like these books are similar and has some fucked up shit, and as much as i hate Raven she was there is be my brayshaw and it showed that she is the real heroine of the whole series. I didnt like the first 3 books of the BOBH series but like raven was there and everyone acknowledged her in Be my brayshaw, but in tillie’s book it was like Tillie is the main heroine but like Madison even tho i hate that girl, she is the real heroine of the series but everyone forgets her including Nate who is the one who was always there by her side. But also Tillie is wayyyy stronger than Madison and i like her but again, her book is shit too.
Now, i hope there is a book for Tate and Spyder cuz i really like them.
This is book three and the conclusion of Madi and Bishop. Dark Gray on my darkness scale. As in true Amo Jones fashion, expect the unexpected. There are many twists and turns.
Book three picks up where book two ends. So I thought I had it all figured out, and I was so wrong. My mind is blown. Keep an open mind and buckle up. I thought book two was a wild ride; oh no, that was child’s play compared to this beast. Kudos to Amo Jones for keeping my attention.
We finally see all the puzzle pieces come together; people come back from the dead: more lies and secrets and one doozy of a big secret. We lose someone who we fell in love with, and man, did that hurt.
That ending!!!! Perfect set up for the next book!! Ugh, I didn't see that coming at all. Sorry, my emotions are all over the place. I wasn't prepared for this and for all the secrest to be revealed.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ STARS ARC BOOK REVIEW Release Date-14/5/18
"Tacet A Mortuis" What can I say about this mind-altering piece of fiction. I actually felt like I had entered an alternate reality here; so great was my confusion at times. But despite this, I still loved this book like so so much. I felt like I had been waiting for this story and answers for like absolute forever. So my first item on the agenda was to re-skim book two "The Broken Puppet" to reacquaint myself on the whole silver Swan enigma. Then being in the right head space I dived in, crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. And boy it didn't take long before I was back there immersed in this confusing tale of obscurity and lifelong secrets. A mystery shrouded in aeons of tradition where the Kings are the pivotal players and every move is a calculated risk. And at the very centre of all this confusion is our "Silver Swan" Madison Montgomery. And where in previous books I have given her a bit of a free pass in regards to her sometimes immaturity; here I really just wanted to totally lamp her arse. Her behaviour at the beginning of this book was abysmal. The fallout from what Madi perceives as a betrayal from Bishop was harsh man and really didn't catalogue Madi in a very good light at all. I found myself totally switching from Team Madi to Team Bishop; so great was my disgust at her immature actions. it's just a bloody good job she does manage to redeem herself at a later date; that's the only thing that saved her from my steaming wrath. So book three is actually told in a slightly different fashion than previous instalments. Instead of just Madison's POV this time we are treated to the inner sanctum of what is Bishop's cold calculating psyche. And as an added bonus; an occasional cameo from Madi's twin bro Daemon. And this I found really added an extra layer to proceedings; giving us a much more in-depth and sympathetic profile of Bishop the man and what ultimately makes him tick. You get to see such a different side to Bishop here; more loving and protective overall but still a complete bad-ass to outsiders or anyone he perceives as a threat to his girl. And after the initial fallout from book two the dynamic established between Madi and Bishop is the best to date. Maybe because we are getting a much more rounded perspective of them both. We do get some of the questions that have been rattling around our heads finally answered here; thank god. But in true Amo Jones style, we are still not let in on the whole entire picture. There is still so much more to discover and yippee another book to boot. Was so stoked to discover that titbit. I'm just hoping we stay with Bishop and Madi. Please god, more Bishop especially; I beg of you. "Tacet A Mortuis" is as usual with this series; red hot in the sexual department. And I'll say it again; where were these gods of sexual prowess when I was a girl. Mmm, nope not seeing any; move along. But suspending disbelief slightly; Bishop and Madi really spark flames here with there combustible energy and sizzling chemistry. setting the pages on fire with there antics. Bucket of water needed, please. There was also a great supporting cast to compliment the A team; all really well developed. Some old faces and some new players. And as I said earlier some closure. But damn it I was hoping for all the answers here and I'm still left somewhat confused. Oh well onwards and upwards. So despite me wanting to drop-kick madison throughout "Tacet A Mortuis" I'm still giving this Five stars. I ummed and awwed a bit and did consider dropping half a star; just on account of Madi. I eventually decided against this; I was so hooked and invested in the storyline here that I have to give it its due. I couldn't put this down and "tacet A Mortuis" was adhered to my hand throughout this whole experience. So it's getting a full house. I cant recommend this series enough; it's truly an intriguing read. Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of "Tacet a Mortuis (Whispers from the Dead) (The Elite King's Club #3)" of which I have reviewed voluntary. Holy shit she did it. Amo Jones dropped the mic and no one saw THAT coming. What can I say about an Amo Jones book that hasn't been said already? Tacit a Mortuis was EPIC and straight out phenomenal. Similar to The Silver Swan and The Broken Puppet it followed the same path and was nothing short of magnificent and mindblowingly shocking. This story was dark, sexy and filled to the brim with angst, mystery, sensuality and secrets. Because in typical fashion, this author answered all of my questions but then left me begging for more.
Tacit a Mortuis begins immediately after The Broken Puppet and we are immediately brought back into Madison Montgomery's life and see the consequences and aftermath of the revelations at the end of book two. Without giving away ANY spoilers, Madison is now forced to deal with the secrets that were revealed to her which she now has to reconcile with what she thought to be true. Her main question: Is Bishop Hayes her biggest protector or is their relationshop another facade she has to break through in order to get to the truth?
GAHHH this book was AMAZING!!!!! What I loved about this story is the fact that Amo Jones proved that she definitely doesn't pull her punches and delivered a one two combo that left us flailing. This author's writing style is not only versatile but almost beautifully poetic. The conclusion to this story was outstanding and Madison and Bishop were pure Kindle Crack. Their chemistry was FIRE and their sexytimes were nothing short of electrifying. And that ending was crazy - Good Lord!! This story was filled to the brim with a strong heroine, HOT AF alpha males, a mystery that will rock your world and an epic storyline that kicked ass and took ALL the names. All the secrets, lies and skeletons in the closet we could ever imagine came out and left me wanting more. This is one of my favorite trilogies of all time! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula
“As graceful as a floating swan, but as deadly as a silver bullet.”
I’ll be honest, at first I wasn’t too attached to this story and I didn’t like the main characters. I was actually more attached to the side characters. But the more I read the books, I actually started to like more and more and I ended up enjoying this fucked up story. I liked the mystery and the suspense. This book had many plot twists left me shocked and that kept me entertained. Can’t wait to start Malum 🙌🏽
I have conflicting feelings for madison and bishop’s romance. I thought these first three books would specifically focus on them but that wasn’t really the case. their books felt like a mixture of a love triangle and a reverse harem which is not really my cup of tea.
also, tillie deserves better than nate’s annoying ass. I hate that he slept with tatum whom is friends with tillie and madison and he had a thing for madison…🙄. I’m still gonna read his and tillie’s book though because I wanna know what happens next in the story.
“As graceful as a floating swan, but as deadly as a silver bullet.”
Wow what a journey!
Finally Madship had the end they deserved.
I loved every page of this book . I devoured It in less than a day.
The plot twists in this one were pretty heavy. And of course the sex scenes hot as always with the add of a very very too hot to handle deleted scene ( I wasn’t ready for that 😉)
“I’ve felt loss. I’ve suffered and lived through what felt like my heart being ripped from my chest. Death was a brutal thing. Its behavior could be unrestrainedly ferocious, and at times, radiated toward the people who didn’t deserve to be at the receiving end of its wrath. It tore your heart into two by taking your loved one and replacing them with nothing but the sweet whispers of their memories. Those memories will become the shoulders you cry on.” – Amo Jones”
So I can't locate my old account anywhere, which is kinda odd considering it was there the first time I reviewed this book.
With that, my new page is now private and I will continue reviewing how I see fit and with my own opinion.
So, before I begin WARNING If you're a hardcore fan of this author or have jumped on the bandwagon...I advise you not read this review.
Title Tacet a Mortius AKA whispers from the dead AKA wrong! I'm assuming she wanted some edgy latin title and somehow got confused because Tacet a Mortius means SILENT from the dead.
Anyways the good: The Cover. That's where my two star rating comes in. I really adore the crown LOL.
Now like I said before I'm reviewing this based off my own personal opinion. If you have a problem don't inbox me (yes this has happened after I've reviewed one of her books before)
I've read Amo before. I've read her so many times that I can tell you Raze, Hella, whatever the dudes name from the devils match is, and bishop could all be the same person.
All her female MC's are either sweet yet fucked up or sweet and turned fucked up.
Basically, her characters are redundant I'm sorry but I had to say it.
With that being said, WHY does she put cheating in every single one of her books? That shit is not sexy. And WHY is Madison a fucking hoebag? The girl was like a cat in heat since the silver swan. & at the end of broken puppet her and bishop were together. He does something (I can't even remember) and this little fast ass was ready to hop on Nate and the other dude. She legit wants to screw any man with a d*ck and a pretty face.
She should have just ended up with Nate as much screen time as they had. Bishop seemed like an after thought this entire clusterfuck.
She made me stabby this whole book. She's childish beyond belief. I was a teenager once. I teach teenagers. They don't act like this.
This was not a mindfuck. This was amo doing what she always does and adding in filler and confusion to up her word count. Sex, drama, the usual. & then in true amo fashion she wants to pull out all the stops at the END of the book. a TON of b.s meant for shock factor and nothing else.
Example from the broken puppet. Madison and one of the girls run away and end up at a bar. Madison meets some random guy with a pretty face *see above* but that whole build up scene was pointless as hell because he has nothing to do with any other parts of the book. She goes back to school after being gone for weeks and that's that. I won't go into how unrealistic that shit was. You don't vanish from school for weeks and then waltz into class like everything's just fine.
I feel like amo just randomly tosses things in as she goes along because that is the only justifiable explanation as to why things from the first 2 books were never brought back up and left to breeze away in the wind.
SO MUCH CRAP WAS ADDED FOR NOTHING.
There are so many unanswered questions that pertain to madison and bishop it's impossible for this to be a real conclusion.
& bishop, I don't understand why he with that childish, sleazy, annoying, biotch. Also, he doesn't feature nowhere near as heavily in this as I was led to believe.
The teasers are always better than the book. (sigh)
I could go on for days but I'm going to binge on Win The Dark wins for some real dark goodies.
Excuse me while I just scrape my jaw up off the floor...
Okay. Wow. That shit was intense! We should all bow to the Queen of Mindfuckery, Amo Jones. Tacet de Mortuis is an epic conclusion(ish) to Bishop and Madison’s story. I mean, shit is hitting. the. fan. Throughout all the craziness, I was absolutely loving the loyalty between Bishop and Madison. Bishop is incredible in this book. So worth all his pain-in-the-ass ways. And Madi... oh Madi. She is stealing the show! I love kickass heroines and she is living up to all of her Silver Swan potential. I still can’t even believe all the twists and turns that have been packed into these three books. My mind is reeling! I seriously feel like I will die waiting for the next book in this totally insane and fucked up series. A million stars. Highly recommend!
Just got done reading this again and yeah changed it to five stars .. wow..now FINALLY onto Nate and Tillie
Damn! Well that was one heck of a ride with the first three books!! I still love all the kings, I am liking Madison more and more.. I didn't understand some of the "feelings" in this book with Madison and Daemon. To me there wasn't enough time spent together for the strong feelings with each other. I mean other people were talking about their bond. They needed more time together. The trickery that happened wowziers that was good!! Took me a minute to get it all together in my head. I still have tons of questions and would love to continue reading the series but anyone that reads my reviews and such will know that I am in allowance hell :)
Release Date: May 14, 2018 Genre: Dark YA Romance Actual Rating: 4 stars
Wow. What a ride! This book had me feeling a myriad of emotions- nervousness, excitement, frustration, longing, and more. Amo Jones certainly can write a dark and gritty love story that will send prickles down her readers spine as they swoon. I absolutely loved Bishop and Madison together- the sexual tension is off the charts! They are two peas in a dark pod that's for sure. What I noticed about this book in comparison to the first two is how much Bishop has changed. He went from being a dark and menacing character to one who doesn't seem all that scary any more. Perhaps love really does change people... Madison is the same sassy girl who doesn't listen to what's best for her, but that is something I have come to love in her character. She is strong and full of heart but won't hesitate to make the blood flow if necessary. Yikes! This is a fantastic conclusion to Madison and Bishops dark love story and I look forward to hearing more about Tillie and Nate next.
While this book doesn't end on a cliffhanger for Bishop and Madison, it DOES end on a twisty note when it comes to Tillie. I won't say what happens as I don't want to spoil it for readers who haven't read it yet, but it's a doozy! Good thing I have the next book on hand now as I don't have the patience to wait!
If you like DARK romances, this series is a must read. All the books must be read in order of publication! And I definitely recommend it if you like sexy, gritty, reads!
What a surprise to find out that what I thought was a trilogy was, in fact, going to be a 13 books series!
TACET A MORTUIS is the last book told from Bishop and Madison's point of view and it opens the plot for more of the other characters.
Just like in the first two books, we get answers but we are left with so many more questions! How frustrating, right?
That's what I actually regret, but at the same time it is also a part of this intricate and crazy storyline. It's how he story is built and truly, it works. I fear that may be, one day, to much suspense is going to make me lose interest, but we are far from here, I was riveted to the pages. I can't tell you how much I love that kind of reads: intriguing, mysterious, that sends my mind reeling with the possibilities.
Madison and Bishop are true to themselves, and I came to terms with the fact that, let's be honest, I don't like them. Madison's immature behavior and actions unnerved me. Once more. Bishop is cruel, when clearly he and Madison share so much, but I admit that I loved the complexity of his character. Of all of the characters. Because finally, in that series, nothing's easy. You'll find multi-layered truths and multi-layered personalities. In that resides the magic recipe of the series, again, if it's your kind of dark reads!
Enjoy!
I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ARC COPY OF THIS BOOK. THANK YOU!!!
1.5 stars. I'M FREEEEEE!!!!!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY FUCKING LIFE!
"When I looked around the table at all their faces, I now understood the saying blood means nothing, loyalty means everything."
OMG Madship is the Aidenelsa of Amo Jones, they have 3 books and none of them are good. Loser behavior if you ask me.
So this book was a bit better than the second, I liked the "war" at the end, and I liked Tillie's suspense, but I'm just so done with Madison, Bishop, and a few more characters already that I don't even care at this point. However.. NateTillie's crumbs were so good and there's gonna be so much angst in their books and that's why I WILL BE READING the next 2 books. I might hate it too? yes. But so far in the series they are my favorite couple so I'm having a little faith in them.
Also.. Madison and Bishop's romance was so boring, I wasn't even rooting for them to be together and I hate Madison so much. Like.. I don't think I've ever hated a female character this much. And I stopped disliking Bishop as much as I did and he's kinda hot, but that's all.
Update Juli 2019: EINFACH PHÄNOMENAL! 😍😍😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍😍😍😍!!!!
Update Mai 2018:
