Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC. Opinions are mine. Pub Date 11 Oct 2018. #GoodMoneyBeInTheKnowBoostYourFinancialWellbeing #NetGalley
Definitely an underrated book in my opinion. Good Money is a well needed “slap in the face” in terms of basic money management, usage and mentality that all of us should be aware of daily, but most of us don’t even consider.
The book went through tons of psychological principles such as our attachment to money, our emotions when spending it, our mentality when saving or investing, and proper financial goal setting. Being divided into several specific sections to better focus on certain topics in “bite size chunks” definitely made it an easier reading experience compared to similar books. And the fact that every section ended with a summary of each chapter within said section, as well as a list of further resources such as books, articles, videos and actual tasks to complete, was a perfect way to end each chapter. I was also very impressed to find a full bibliography at the end, filled with countless cited sources for the numerous facts stated throughout the book, which not many nonfiction books do nowadays.
Although not the most comprehensive book about money by any means, it’s short length and extremely cheap price ($5) makes it 100% worth picking up. Even if you get no new knowledge from the book, the basic money mindset wake up call you get from it alone, is worth the price.
It is more than a book packed with advice about how to spend smarter - always welcomed - but it delves into the psychological and cultural aspects related to our individual relationship with money and what actually money means to us. Based on various psychological and marketing studies, the book is a valuable resource for anyone struggling to have a better financial planning, taking into account the actual needs and benefits. It teaches you how to do smart financial projections, avoid overspending and decisions based on the current financial context and personal situation. A good chapter to read is the one dealing with how to deal with debt, as it offers various strategies and advice for diminishing or avoiding such unpleasant situations. Each chapter has a long extra list of recommended read and podcasts that will help the reader to get more tips for a healthier financial life.

The book is jammed with information in an organized way but will take awhile to get through reading so you either need to read in sections are carve out hours of the day. Any older age and even young adults would benefit from learning and reading this book. The author clearly knows how to draw your attention in an otherwise not so super interesting topic. It would make a valuable gift to anyone who has a problem maging or really controlling the situation of finance.
Nathalie Spencer is a behavioural scientist at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. In this very broad book that doesn’t offer much new to those seeking to get control over their finances, she looks at the psychology of financial decision making and how behavioural science can be used to boost financial wellbeing. If you’re wondering why you keep avoiding dealing with your finances, then this book offers an additional means of procrastination.
I would like to introduce myself as a professional book cover judger~ I found this at sale market and saw the quality of its paper was so good and decided to take one. turns out this book is so alluring! I found the topics are very interesting and I keep reading it. the author really did a good job to discuss money with a very good way and it was not boring at all!
En el libro encontré buenas ideas para reflexionar acerca de la psicología humana y el dinero. No está tan malo aunque siento que hubiera podido agregar más información. Al final es sólo mi opinión.
There is good information in her but I could not relate to how it was presented. As well the imagery/illustrations bothered me. It seems the work in this series, I have a hard time continuing to read.
Quick little read to help you gain insight into why you have the money habits that you may have currently. Also gives so good advice on how to break bad habits or improve upon good habits that one has dealing with money.
This is an informative guide on how to boost your own financial health. it is full of simple and easy to follow directions and is perfect for people who are starting from scratch in terms of taking control of their finances and those with a bit of knowledge.
A simple and practical book on personal finance and one that every reader would enjoy. Thank you Netgalley for the eARC, personally, I enjoyed the insight on friction and how when spending money's made easy say by electronic transactions, then it becomes difficult to keep track of finances.
