چکیدهای نسبتا جامع از مهمترین نظریات تاریخ سیاست و توضیح اصطلاحات رایج در ادبیات سیاسی

کتاب بسیار فشرده است و برخی از مفاهیم را گنگ توضیح داده. از آنجاییکه کتاب را برای آمریکاییها نوشتهاند، بیست فصل آخر آن به آمریکا و قانون آن اختصاص دارد و دید آن هم کاملا مطابق با حکومت است. همین سبب میشود که جهتگیری کتاب بسیار مشخص باشد.

بیشتر کتابی برای آشنایی با اصطلاحات سیاسی هست تا آشنایی با سیاست
یادگرفتن سیاست بدون وارد شدن به مباحث و فصلهای فلسفی تقریبا غیر ممکنه
به نظرم کتاب لوایتان از هابز بهترین گزینه برای ورود به دنیای سیاسته

نظریه های مر بوط به سیاست ، اصولا قابل فهم نیستند ولیکن در این کتاب با بیانی ساده و روان ، توانسته است که موضوعات سیاسی را در قالب فهم عموم به نوشته تحریر در آورد.
