This is a really useful and handy little book which advocates the use of natural herbal remedies to cope with the stresses and strains of life. Worth the read if you are interested in natural health or just plain curious.

Un petit livre mais rempli d'informations, très facile d'accès !

Après une rapide revue des bases de physiologie (gestion du stress, système nerveux sympathique et parasympathique) les différents types d'utilisations des plantes (poudres, teintures, etc ... mais aussi dosage, sécurité...), l'auteur explique succinctement ce qui fait qu'une plante est qualifiée d'adaptogène et les conséquences pour notre santé.

Le terme adaptogène étant plutôt restrictif, Paula Grainger a sélectionné 20 végétaux, adaptogènes et / ou associés qu'elle décrit rapidement ainsi que quelques recettes en fin de livre.

Plus qu'un herbier ou un simple livre descriptif de plantes comme on en trouve tant, il s'agit ici de réfléchir plus largement au stress permanent que l'on fait subir à notre corps et notre mental et d'explorer des pistes pour aller vers l'équilibre, l'homéostasie.

Lovely nourishing comforting book that gives a solid overview as well as basics on how to make tinctures, etc.
