Audiobook review. As a mom of a child with autism, Diana’s struggles were something I could relate to and the representation was well executed. The plot was secondary to the relationship but picked up pace toward the end. The dialogue, imagery, and characterization were done well. The secondary characters were unique and interesting.

The main characters complemented one another well and the resulting relationship developed a little on the faster side but was not any less entertaining. I liked the dynamic that Tobias, our hero, brought to his relationship with Diana and her son. It shall not go unmentioned that their scenes together were quite hot 🔥.

The narrator did a great job with the male voice. The female voice wasn’t as distinct and I found myself struggling to remember who was ‘talking’ because it wasn’t always clear. However, his pace and tone level worked well for the story. All in all this was a solid read and I will gladly read or listen to more in the series.

The couple: Tobias and Diana

Romance genre: bdsm
Series: NYC Doms
Length: 238

Plot: Diana is out one night, drunk and looking for revenge against her recent ex-boyfriend. She keys his car, except that it's not her car; the expensive car belongs to Tobias, a Dom with a need to punish her for her transgression. Diana knows she can't pay him back for the damage; she's a single mother with a son on the autism spectrum. But Tobias offers her a deal; a spanking session and the slate is wiped clean. He's decided that he'll keep her though; she just may be the special someone he's been looking for.

Commentary: I like everything I've read from Jane Henry's book so far, and this was no exception. This was actually a softer book than some of her others (and if you like that softer side, check out the books she wrote with Shanna Handel: Be My Babygirl). Tobias was not afraid to confront his feelings and take on Diana and her son. The way he was with her son sometimes got my back up; as the mother of a son on the spectrum, I wanted to scoop him up and protect him from anyone trying to push him past his comfortable limits. Diana was the same way. But Chad was really wanting that male figure in his life, and he of course needed structure, and Tobias knows all about structure and discipline! So he was good for Chad. The proposal scene at the end was pretty perfect for them, and I will definitely continue reading this series.

Next book in the series: Safeguard

Deliverance Really Delivered!

Fantastic start to a new series filled with mystery, suspense, great characterizations and very well-placed humor. Professionally written and extremely fast paced, Ms. Henry has woven an engaging tale set within the world of BDSM that is original and difficult to put down! The story flows seamlessly from the first page to the very last. The characterizations are complex, engaging and felt so very real. The main characters are exceptionally likeable, the secondary characters are endearing (with exceptions), memorable and the combined interactions simply captivating. As with all of Ms. Henry’s novels, the heat level is incendiary and the hero’s brand of dominance is tempered with respect as well as affection.

I’ll be stalking the author impatiently until the next novel’s release! Although the first in a new series “Deliverance” is a completely standalone novel.

Children 18 and over only due to explicit sexual content!

This was my first read by the author and while it did have some things that I enjoyed, I can’t say that I’m in love with it. The main characters did have chemistry and I liked reading about their romance progressing. However, It takes place most of the time at the club and spent a lot of time introducing Diana to the lifestyle. I don’t have a problem with BDSM books taking place in a club, they just aren’t my favorite.

This does have a suspense element to it and I did enjoy this enough to read the next book about Beatrice and Zack. She was so sassy in this book that I know she’s going to be getting into so much trouble!

❤~🌟~❤5 MESMERIZED BY MASTER TOBIAS STARS!❤~🌟~❤

I have been a HUGE admirer of Jane Henry’s erotic romances for a while. I truly adore everything she writes—her big, tough, fiercely protective Doms always hit my sweet spot-- but I was truly BLOWN AWAY by DELIVERANCE, the first scintillating installment in her new NYC Doms series!

I was enthralled by the pitch perfect blend of hotness, humor, suspense and heartwarming emotion. Ms. Henry is my go to author for erotic romances with mild kink that offer me not only pure blissful escapism, but also realistically depicted BDSM power exchanges…and she DELIVERS big time with this book! The dynamic between the DELICIOUSLY COMMANDING Master Tobias and Diana McAdams, the feisty, beleaguered single mom who discovers her secret submissive side--and true empowerment--in his strong, seductive embrace was phenomenal! Talk about sparks and passion galore! The chemistry between Diana and Tobias was off the charts combustible, the erotic interludes FILTHY HOT, the romantic exchanges breathtakingly tender, and yup I needed a spare pair of panties after those torrid spanking scenes!

What truly elevated this irresistible romance to MUST READ status, however, was the emotionally-wrenching storyline featuring Diana’s young autistic son Chad! Diana was the embodiment of a TRUE WARRIOR MOM. Her devotion to her son gave me #AlltheFeels and as a mom raising my own special needs son, she totally nailed the daily trials and tribulations, joys and sorrows, and precious milestones, big and small, that go hand in hand in navigating parenting a child with unique challenges! I also thought that Ms. Henry’s raw and true to life portrayal of young Chad was spot on…and gah the tender-hearted connection that Tobias forged with Diana’s boy nearly brought me to my knees! Loved seeing the softer, gentler side of this Big, Bad Dom emerge with this woman and child who ended up mastering HIS heart!

I enjoyed the fast paced nature of this romance yet the author played out all the emotional and dramatic beats exceptionally well, so I never felt like any pivotal plot points were rushed or glossed over. There is palpable friction and mounting tension throughout and the romance and the suspense arcs come to a chilling head in a stunning climax that had me biting my nails and then finally heaving a sigh of relief! And that Epilogue? PURE SWOON-WORTHY PERFECTION!

As for the narration...SHIVER-INDUCING! This is my first D.C. Cole audio and I am an INSTA FAN-GIRL! He just nails the growly, gravelly, uber alpha Dom persona to a T...I was blushing and squirming like crazy throughout...and his vocal talents really shine through in his ability to give all the characters distinct voices and personalities! I especially got goosebumps of his portrayal of the bad guy. EEEEK! Talk about evoking creepiness in the best possible way. In my opinion, Mr. Cole is the PERFECT narrator for this series--it was as if these Doms were written with him in mind, and I cannot wait to listen to him in book two, SAFEGUARD, featuring Beatrice and Zack!

This was a fast pace easy read.. with some good steam ;)

Always check the car your keying lol and make sure it doesn't belong to a dom club owner.. Diana did that mistaking a ex's car and kinda scratched Tobias car.. she apologizes to him and they enter his club to talk about how she can fix this..

Tobias is already falling hasn't been sassed in awhile, stood up against and Diana is everything he wants and needs. Before they can talk theirs a problem in the club that goes into lockdown. Diana at first can't get ahold of the babysitter who is watching her son who has special needs she has a mini panic attack that Tobias helps her get through. But that still doesn't stop him from spanking her ass for the mistake of keying his car.

They hit it off and once the debt is paid off no sex just discipline spank (few) once that is done they get serious.. he explains dom/sub to her and gets to spend time with Chad her 8 year old.. even when chad had bad days.. i love that he was always there for him and Diana.. even when he ex-chads dad was a asshole..

With their relationship blooming they still have a rapist stalking Tobias club.. you kinda find out who or something by the 2nd girl or you think you know by then lol.

I enjoyed both charas Tobias being a hard, fun, charming guy and Diana.. girl she is a super mom and she's sweet, shy and does dish out some mean sass.

No ow/om drama, no cheating, secondary charas, sexy times , no virgins

Funny, sexy, heartbreaking and beautiful, Deliverance (NYC Doms #1) is a wonderful read and a very exciting start to this new series. To begin I loved this well written book and it's engaging storyline. It will grab your attention from the first chapter and not let go of it. The characters are well developed and have complex histories. Diana, is an amazingly real character. Feisty, strong and a loving mom to a special needs son. From the very first scene with her you can not help but feel a connection with her. And even if you have never taken things quite as far as she did, you will have felt her feelings and if you are honest at least fantasized about taking some kind of action because of them. Tobias, is a strong, sexy, determined and dominate alpha male. The way these two first meet is priceless. It's part heartbreaking, part laugh out loud funny with a heavy dose of awe inspiring train wreck horror tossed in. In my opinion this meeting alone is worth the price of the book. I adored the romance between these two. The attraction is intense, the chemistry hot and the scenes scorching. The book also offers plenty of emotional depth, mystery and danger. I found this book to be a true pleasure to read and I can't wait for book 2. I'm posting an honest, voluntary review after reading an advance copy of this book.

I enjoyed every aspect of this book. It had the perfect level of BDSM I like and a wonderful storyline to go with it, about trust and loyalty. Tobias is my perfect fantasy man and I wouldn't change one single thing about him. I also loved Diana so so much, being a mom of an autistic son myself, all of her struggles were real and relatable to me. I just saw a lot of me in her and that made me enjoy the book tremendously. This seriously was the perfect book for me and I will be reading the rest of the series ❤️

This is the first book in the NYC Doms series by Jane Henry. I did enjoy this book and I really liked the characters what I didn’t like was almost every time the H spoke it was without using pronouns. I’ve seen authors do this before usually with bikers or blue collar workers which is annoying and also offensive. I also didn’t like how Diana kept saying it wasn’t normal to like to be spanked and Tobias never commented on it. Tobias Creed is 36 years old and he owns, Verge, a very exclusive BDSM club with his friend, Seth. One night he leaves the club and sees a strange woman scratching his Maserati with her keys. Diana is 31 years old, she’s divorced and has an eight year old son named Chad who is on the spectrum. She went out with her bestie, Beatrice for a girls night after catching her boyfriend cheating on her. When she spots what she thinks is his car she gets angry and starts to scratch the shit out of it. When Tobias comes out she realizes she vandalized the wrong car and she promises to pay for the damages. Tobias wants Diana to submit to him even though she swears she’s not interested. Let the games begin.

When Diana messes with the wrong car and gets caught, she is horrified. Tobis, a dominant, offers her a totally different way to pay back her debt to him. She reluctantly agrees and enters a whole new world in Tobis's club! She has never had much luck with men but Tobis is different. He's understanding, patient and very caring towards her special needs son. This story just drew me in and I stayed up late reading it. Beatrice, her best friend, was so funny and provided a lot of comic relief! Hopefully she will get a story in the series also. This new series starts off with a bang as a serial killer is on the lose and seems to be targeting submissives. Tobis tries his best to keep Diana safe but can he? Or will the killer get to her? Can't wait for the next book!

While I enjoyed the romance, the sex, and the realism added by Chad, Diana's son, who is on the autism spectrum, I think there's something missing from the beginning. One minute, Tobias is only a player with a different girl every night and no interest in a relationship and the next he's falling head over heels for Diana. This complete switch with no internal discussion, no external discussion, no nothing, does not ring true and left me with the feeling that the author was in a hurry and didn't bother to make sure the beginning was consistent with the rest of the story. I did love the way the two met, with Diana keying Tobias' car after mistaking it for her ex-boyfriend's.

Structure!

OCD, special needs children, in some ways all need structure. Feeling like you're responsible for not only your needs but those around you, always in control, an outlet is needed. At times handing the control over to another and as you'll find in this story simply instill structure and sharing the control lifts the heavy weight. Overall quality of writing was good. No cheating or cliffhanger and the story ends on a happy note. Enjoy 🤓

The Delight
Jane Henry is a new to me author that intrigued me enough to continue the series!

Review
I found a new author to try and I enjoyed the first book in the series. Deliverance starts off with a bang as Diana McAdams decides to key a sports car she believes is her ex-boyfriends only to come face to face with the owner. Not her ex. Tobias Creed is one pissed off Dom when he sees a hot lady keying his car in the parking lot of the BDSM club he owns. She's not getting away from paying for the damages even if she believes she is sorry. As he is getting down to the bottom of getting damages settled when the club is put on lock down. Someone attacked a female member blocks away and the clubs name was mentioned. This leads to Diana getting an eyeful of the club and Tobias delivering a spanking for disregarding his orders.

Tobias is intrigued by the woman who entered his life and feels a connection he wants to explore, but he is a Dominant through and through. His club took time and hard work to establish, so when it it threatened he does everything he can to protect his club. Diana is a problem, but one he wants to explore.

Diana can't believe she keyed the wrong guys car, but now she has to find the money to fix the issue. She's done with men and falling in love. Quickly to fall, even quicker to get hurt. With a special needs son, she doesn't have time for playing games. Just pay for the damages and move on, but that isn't the way things will go.

The story moves along at a good pace, but some key elements that got me, kept me from enjoying this throughly. While the ex-boyfriend plays a key part of them meeting and her swearing off love, you never really learn much about him or his name. The name part is what got me. The next thing that got me was this was centered around a BDSM club, with a Dom and the scenes felt off. For someone to own a club, I figured he would be into more than spanking. All the scenes revolved around spanking and not much else. If that was it, that is fine, but I wanted some more creativity, especially since he owned the club. Finally there is a scene that is about punishment and they had not progressed to a relationship yet. He is spanking her, but also playing with her to arouse her. That felt off as it was an agreed upon punishment/payment for the damages, but he took it too far in my opinion without talking to her about her limits.

The suspense was predictable as it moved through the story and I wondered why they couldn't figure it out as well. Or at least look a certain way. Throw in Diana's best friend (who I loved) starts dating the cop Dom investigating the attacks and it went way faster than I expected as their story is book 2. At one point it seemed she was working with him on the case. Who knows I guess until I start reading that story.

The great parts are when Tobias deals with Diana's son. He is autistic, but high functioning. Tobias fell for Diana, but he also had to get along with her son, which not even the son's father bothered to try. Each child with behavior hardships are unique, but Tobias is patient and firm, while also being supportive. While I don't have an autistic child, I do have other issues that also at time require stepping out of the box to deal with. Diana kept a good routine, but I felt her pain when the child got stuck in his head about something and refused to be reasonable. Been there, done that so many times, I wanted to hug her.

The story is well written, a few bumps in the road, but overall, it did suck me in and having me wanting to read more from this author. My hope is it is not all just a spanking good time, but we shall see. A good opening story to get me hooked.

LIVES CHANGE IN A MATTER OF SECONDS

As a huge fan of everything Ms. Jane Henry has written, I was especially excited to see she was starting a new series, and guess what? She delivered once again with Deliverance. The story has a great cast of characters, real-life emotions, mystery, and suspense, and is definitely a page-turner that I didn’t want to put down. I am already excited for more in this series.

Diana McAdams is caught between a rock and a hard place in life. Raising a special needs son who can’t handle change, she has to be there for him, while working on teaching him to embrace and accept changes. Dealing with Chad’s POS father who stirs the pot and exacerbates the issues of his son as if saying, ‘buck up and get over it’ makes it better. The only person in her life that is a support system for both herself and Chad is her best friend, Beatrice.

Tobias Creed is a dominant, a man who expects obedience, and commands respect. He, along with his friend, Seth, own and run a BDSM club called Verge. Tobias could have just about any of the single women in the club setting but is not attached to anyone. He will scene, and also is involved in doing demonstrations.

The plot will have a drunken and angry Diana keying a car that she assumes belonged to the cheating man she had been seeing. Getting caught in the act by the owner of the car comes as a surprise, and now she is due restitution. But what will Tobias demand and how can she afford it?

Take one dominant BDSM club owner and one feisty woman, and you have an amazing tale of power exchange and eventually total submission. Tobias has an air about him that isn’t pushy, but commanders respect. Diana has had to be strong and tough for so long, that when Tobias enters the picture and has a positive effect on Chad, she is overwhelmed with respect and will eventually acquiesce to him. His dominance and control allows her submissive side to let go and fly.

“Don’t move those arms, babe. I wanna f*** you, and I wanna do it on my terms. I like control on a normal day. In bed? I like it completely.”

The story has mystery and suspense due to a serial rapist attacking, beating, raping, and even killing some of the submissive women of the club, and it will link the crimes to Verge. Now the police are involved and scrambling to try and discover if it is one of the Verge members is committing these heinous acts. With life and death issues, Tobias will pull away from Diana as the club is closed down trying to solve this crime and it will not only affect them personally but also Chad. Will an act of disobedience and defiance bring them closers, or tear them apart?

The story has many spanking scenes, views and scenes from inside Verge, and explicit sex scenes including BDSM play. While the crime of rape is mentioned, there are no scenes of this heinous act detailed; it is only mentioned as happening to victims of Verge. The details of Chad is shared in a way that the reader can embrace the challenges a parent faces with a child that suffers OCD and changes and the differences between positive and negative parenting that affect those involved.

Deliverance is the first in BDSM superstar Jane Henry’s new series New York Dom’s, and if the first book is any indication of how the series is going to be, then hold on to your floggers because Deliverance is one amazing ride!
Diana and a friend are out one night, and Diana sees her boyfriend’s car.Her no-good, ratfink cheating ex-boyfriend’s car. So she proceeds to key it up. Unfortunately, she doesn’t bother checking the plates on the car.
Tobias Creed comes out of Verge, the NYC BDSM club he co-owns, to find a woman keying his car. He brings Diana to his office and tells her it’s the police or off the books, but he’s interrupted by a disturbing phone call from his assistant. There’s a serial rapist on the loose. Diana is stuck in the club while it’s on lockdown and she’s not too happy because she’s got her son at home with a babysitter. (Her son is a bright, autistic, high on the spectrum.) But she goes on a tour of the club with a sub and is turned on by the sights.
Tobias takes her home. But they soon meet up again, and she decides to try with him after he connects with her son. But there’s still a killer on the loose, and Tobias worries about his patrons and Diana.
Jane has done such a spectacular job with this book, and the relationship between Tobias and Diana’s son is completely heartwarming. This book is a winner and I’m excited to see how this series progresses!

I am giddy every time a new Jane Henry book comes out and for good reason. Ms. Henry consistently puts out fresh storylines with engaging characters and all the passion, mystery, camaraderie, & romance you could desire.
She's absolutely done that with "Deliverance" as well as setting a fantastic scene for future "NY Doms" to tell us their stories.
If you enjoy aftercare almost as much as BDSM ;) pick up this book. It's like being wrapped up in a big warm blanket!

4-spanking stars

This was actually a really cute story with some suspense and mystery added. Diana sees her cheating ex’s sports car and vandalizes it. Only problem is that the car belongs to Tobias, the owner of the BDSM club, Verge. I truly didn’t expect much considering the club theme but I was pleasantly surprised. Tobias’s was a yummy possessive hero and it was super sweet how he got along with Chad. I would definitely read more of this series !

The beginning of this book and the end of this book felt like two different works. It took 48% for me to go from kinda hating our leading man hard to seeing his merit. But I was so salty that I just couldn’t bring myself to come higher. I’m undecided yet on if I will try my hand at the next book or not.

I gave this book 4.5 stars!

I found this book to be not only right up my all alley but touching to my heart. I am a mom of a special needs child that is just like in this book. So I can so relate to Diana and the struggles she faces on a daily bases. I felt not only the emotions of this book but also fell for the characters.

Tobias is a Dom and owner of a club. He likes having control and likes his woman ready to submit. He isn't looking for a relationship that is until he meets the one woman who challenges him. Diana meets Tobias after a incident in front of his club, she is a single mother of a Autistic boy and doesn't have a lot of free time. After a few hours with Tobias, he is all she can think about. What has her even more intrigue is that he is a Dom and owns a BDSM club. Can she submit to him and let him take control even for a few hours?

This was the first book from Jane that I have read and I defiantly will not be my last.
