You must ask yourself one very important Why give up the drug and maintain the behavior? I suspect that we look to the drug of our choice; whether it is pills, alcohol, another person or even the behavior itself as the problem, when it isn't. I suspect that the problem is the drama involved. The drug we use to access that emotional life is secondary to the fact that we subconsciously feel the need to be drawn into an emotional life. Once we know what draws us into the drama and our actual addiction to it - so much so that we willingly create it in our everyday lives via our "drug" of choice - then it loses its power over us. What it really boils down to is simply growing up and taking responsibility for our actions and for our lives. Imagine the many splendored things that we miss because of the superfluous drama with which we fill our lives. Think about it...
