Not what I was hoping for

This came up on my recommended list. This was my first time reading this author and will most likely be my last. There was so much going on in this book it was unreal. I felt it was unrealistic and an overall mess. I did not like the way the characters were portrayed or the plot. There is also an snippet of the next book. I read that as well and still wasn't impressed. I wanted to like this author and this book so bad but in the end i just couldn't.

When I first started reading Giselle's story I didn't know if she was going to be a strong force to be reckoned with but when she met Kasim, thought timid, she let him know she didn't need him to do anything for her, but she needed to be loved! They went through a lot with baby mama drama and Karina's mother Niyla ended up bring the most bitter. The lesson that came out is never love someone more than you love yourself! So many secrets came out in the Braxton fsmily. I felt really sorry for Gia! The couple did however finally get their Happily ever after! Loved it Nako!

Nako got deep in this one. Giselle was a boss B*TCH millionaire! CEO of her late moms wine company at the age of 25! She meets Kasim who’s in his late 30s & they hit it off. Kasim has (3 kids, 2 boys 1 girl) by 3 different women 🫠 I just knew he wasn’t going to be worth a damn but he got it together lol There is drama with the baby mommas & then drama with Giselle & her father & sister & her self esteem issues with her disability. Overall it was a good story. Some parts were anticlimactic like with the land that Kasim wanted. I thought it was going to be more drama with that.

We also get a snippet of Yara & Kadeem (Kasim brother) story in this book. 👀 Their full story is Is She The Reason. And Moses & Teka was in this book. Their story is in Salvage series.

You Got it!

Giselle Braxton a walking brand in a boss! Never in a million years someone so focused so classy and running a million dollar Corporation do you believe carry insecurities. I chose a 5-star rating for the story because I truly enjoyed the way the character was brought out her life the way she lived and in one second she meet someone and a new chapter is opened. This is not easy for Giselle a lady who is CEO of a legacy and she never lets anyone get close to her. Kasim is just what the doctor ordered a no-nonsense guy who is arrogant, running from Woman to Woman, but now it's making decisions that he really truly believe in the end he will be changing. When these two Clash the stars were definitely in their corner and a crazy romance begins. They know they're connected but they fight it, both have skeletons that they don't know how to address and now there are children involved. Giselle goes from being not only the CEO of her Corporation but a girlfriend, and it's in a stepmom to little boys that really need her. Nicole took her time in writing the story is truly shows. The collaboration between gazelle and kasim grows a little bit as you read each time. I love the way the family struggles from both sides are broken in how the healing comes into place. This book has so much information and touches on so many different realms of life but it all makes sense. I love the way the children gravitate to Giselle and she shows them so much love! I enjoyed the way Kasim measured Giselle against other women and realized she was not like them and she would not take his shid. Baby mama drama, Mental illness, physical and mental abuse, and mending relationships. I don't see that there was nothing I didn't dislike I think that I enjoyed looking at the changes this couple once they really believed they trusted each other and the therapist was a great help it's your growth and I was most happiest not only for Giselle but Kasim. Loved Teka n Moses for showing up and Nia! I don't want to give a lot of the book up but there are extreme life changing decisions and moments that even I took away from the story. Very helpful and it shows how to take life day by day and remove those insecurities because we are all queens, we are all beautiful and God created each one of us different and that's okay! In the end you will see Giselle and Kassim break all those barriers and come together to a better place.

WOW! Double WOW!

This book deserved more than a 5 star, so right now it's at 100 percent the best.
This is actually the first time reading this author and I love it.. Although there was some flaws or concerns but it was so well written. Where should I start!
Man, Kasim, (oof) so he was so much more than "all that"... I want me my own Kasim because, he truly became her soulmate, and her man, and everything else. This right here can give anyone hope that there is someone out there for you.
Now, Giselle, a beautiful name for a very beautiful, strong, compassionate, driven BOSS LADY. Even thou she was famous, she was not a diva, preppy, superficial etc... She was just genuine and the best match for Kasim.
I knew this book was going to be hard, sad, beautiful and it did not disappoint. The way the author was able to have God our lord and savior so well integrated and how she tried to show us that without this savior, none of us will be there, she also showed many real life difficulties that people are facing with: drugs, mental illness, depression, achievers, sacrifices, love, friendship, parenting, and family, was so uplifting and real, it felt as if God was the pen that she was holding on to write this story.
I think every one should get a copy, and enjoy, you will not regret.

Creme de la Creme was a good book. I gave it three stars due to grammatical and spelling errors. Kasim and Giselle’s love for one another was strong. It overcame a lot. I love that this story dealt with mental illness, depression, and death. I would recommend it. Just be prepared for the typos and bad grammar.

Intense

This was such a complete story. From the unexpected first meet, the drama, the shocking plot twists, to the HEA. THIS was so worthy of the entire afternoon. Fabulous from start to finish. I love these two together!

I was first introduced to Giselle in “In She The Reason”, and immediately became intrigued by her. In this book, we get the backstory of parents who gave her the world, at a young age. A sudden loss, ruined her dreams of becoming an equestrian, but ushered her into greatness as the Queen of a winery. For far too long, her revolved around work, work and more work. That is, until she met Kasim Moreland. From jump, there was an instant attraction, and she learned that work without play, makes Giselle a miserable woman.

Kasim Moreland knows two things…the street life and family, including three kids by three different women. What first started out as a plot to acquire land, suddenly became a whirlwind romance. Each time tragedy struck, Giselle was right by his side.

This 💎💎💎💎💎book by @nakosreadinggroup will take you on the highest high and then down to the lowest low. I kept asking myself, "How much pain can one family endure?" Let's not forget the plot twists at every turn! This book will definitely make a reappearance later this year for my wrap up of best books read this year.

Please go get this book!

Excellent Story

I loved this story. It had me all in my feelings: I laughed, cried and was at the edge of the couch as I read this book. This was the best book by this author that I've read in awhile and I'm pretty sure I've about read them all. I felt a connection with these characters, like I knew them personally and could picture how they looked. Giselle and Kasim was going through it. They was taking losses back to back and it was affecting their relationship but somehow they made it work. I like that Giselle was able to get over her insecurities and let Kasim love her. Maxim turned out to be a good one. Also, was glad she decided to go to therapy for her other issues. We are raised to not "air our dirty laundry" and so we keep things hidden and suffer through it. I'm feeling how the Author touched on several issues through this story: Spirituality, mental illness, baby mama drama, depression, greed, drug addiction. If you're looking for a good read, this it it.

Too busy, too tragic

This story was too busy for me in the sense that there was so much going on to the point that you felt lost watching the budding love of Giselle and Kasim. It was good to see Giselle come out of her shell breaking down the walls she built after the passing of her mom. It was also good to see Kasim transform and give back to the community in a matter that he needed when he was growing up. My heart ached for Kasim's children. There was so much tragedy in the book until it was hard to breathe. There is an HEA but the journey to get there was intense. I understand that the author wanted to address certain things but in the future let it be enough where it flows genuinely and not to the point of being overwhelmed. I read this author's most recent works and she was able to nail it and provide an amazing and authentic story. This book is an earlier work and since then she has grown as a writer.

Girl Bosses!!!

I don’t even know where to begin. I Loved This Book!!!! This book had so may layers that needed to be pulled back, and underneath it all was just two souls looking to be loved. I love Kasim. I loved seeing his growth through out the story. Giselle, is a BOSS, she was a broken one,but a boss none the less. I love her also, I love her strength, I love her spirit, I love her growth. When the hits kept coming, she would dust them off and keep on moving. I love what Giselle and Kasim did for each other. They pushed and pulled things out of each other to make them better versions of themselves. This book with give you so much, but in the end you will be so fulfilled. I loved the apperances of the girl bosses we’ve read about, Teka and Nia. I am a sucker for happy endings and this book definitely had the happiest of endings. I loved it. Great job!

Amazing

I’m so happy Giselle got her own story. Every since she was first introduced in “In Love With A Brooklyn Thug” I wanted to know more about her. From the beginning to the end I was in love with this book. Seeing Giselle finally live in her truth and be the best person she could be was satisfying. I absolutely love how Nako touched on mental health and how it should not be swept under the rug. Reading a book by Nako is always an experience. Her stories captivate and hold your attention. Her characters are awesome and sometimes I see myself in a couple of her characters. Keep up the great work Nako!

Omgggg wonderful

Talking about character growth, Nako gave such an Intimate description of what Giselle was feeling and going through. I felt like I was in the book, we had became best friends, i cried when she cried. CREME was perfect for Gisele he was older wiser it was just like perfect, him already having kids even worked out for her best interest, in my opinion i feel she needed them to help her come out her shell and live freely before she had her own kids. They all went through a lot, this story was a lot lol in an amazing way, great great read , onto my next Nako book

Nako is such a talented author I am looking forward to reading more of her work it only gets better. This was such a great read I couldn't even do my homework because I could not put it down. I loved the heroine and the fact that she was a girl boss was a bonus. Plenty of drama to keep you entertained but touched on so many real world issues that everyday regular people go through behind closed doors. I also liked the hero and how he evolved and that he was basically the ying to her yang, "He was her peace so to speak".

I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read.

Giselle "The Girl Boss"

Congratulations Nako on this amazing standalone about a women who has dealt with so much from death, addiction, mental illness and her own insecurities. But through it all, she didn't let it bring her down and she continued to be the ultimate girl boss. I loved the connection Giselle and Kasim had. He was able to get her to be more open and accept her flaws regardless to what others may think. I loved the appearances of Teka, Moses, and Nia. This is definitely a must read

Great read

This was a great read. There were so many messages in this book until it's hard to just identify with one. The insecurities that Giselle went many women deal with that deal. Not all have a deformation. Many women have allowed it Has opinions and views become there own. Kasim was a great man for Giselle. Sometimes that's all it time a a person to have patience with you to help unravel all those layers of hurt disappointments, insecurities, and grief.
I can't wait until Kj story comes out.

Giselle

Wow she is the true meaning of self love. She had to learn to love herself first flaws and all. Kasim said it well she had all that money and was still insecure. They loved each other hard. My heart broke for KJ and Chase. Mannnnnnnnnnn. This is an awesome story about how anyone can find love and it’s okay to not follow in the steps of other people. As children we want to grow up to be just like our parents. Giselle gives us the strength and courage to follow our own paths and create our own legacies. Awesome job.

Impressed

This was a good book. A little different and it touched on a few sensitive subjects. This book is a testament on how to deal with life challenges and have faith. Also, no matter what we have planned, God has another. Giselle open her heart to a man others would have rejected but she followed her heart and it worked for her. Kasim was the man with three kids, different baby moms and a good father. Kasim and Giselle were a pair and both were far from perfect but they needed each other. This book was good and will leave you with lessons and may answer questions.

Wow.

OK wow I know this review is supposed to be about Gisele but that excerpt on Kadeem is just while I know that that’s going to be a Banger!!! On Gisselle though... I definitely was not expecting the news we received on page 2. I was like wow a tragedy so early on?!? But this story was amazing. I wish I could have gotten more on the story about Pooh and her daughter. But anyways nako did her thang with this one!!!! Giselle was definitely a girl boss!!!!

Perfectly Written

Every time Nako writes I find a new favorite book. Giselle and Kasim has definitely won a place in my heart. So many life nuggets in this novel and for me "I'm still standing" and "I'm coming out" stood out to me. Nako is definitely gifted to write and is doing what she was born to do. She is in a class of her own and definitely a world changer. This book is everything and a must read.

Loved it!! Great read, I have read every book Nako put out. She's a great author. If you haven't read anything by her you're missing out, she has a way of making you feel her characters in all her books. I love all her work, but for some reason I really, really love Giselle. I didn't think she'll be able to top The Underworld series, silly me; with her work ethic I should have known better. Can't wait for her next book. Oh, by the way this is a stand alone.

OMG!!

This is a great body of work! So many emotions! I think any woman especially a working mother can relate to the hustle and bustle of trying to have a successful career and balance your personal life and have self worth in the end. It truly starts from within to be successful in all areas of your life and it is a daily struggle for most of us to have something left for yourself at the end of the day after wearing so many hats! JOB WELL DONE!!!💖😢👑🔥🙂

Tearjerker

This one has easily become one of my favs by this author. I love the fact that the books touched on difficult subjects, such as mental illness, that AA American families have ignored for so long. If you’re looking for a good love story, mixed in with some black girl magic and realism, this is definitely a must read. Make sure you have a bottle of wine and some tissue on hand before reading this book.

Excellent story

Giselle and Kasim meets by chance, but it changes their lives for the better. Not knowing exactly where they were headed, the couple falls for each other and learn how to be there for each other through the good and the bad. They elevated each other and helps to make their world better. This story deals with the past, pain, loss, trust, love, and work. You are able to see character growth throughout the story. This is a very excellent story.

Giselle: Creme De La Creme

The main character in this story experienced a lot of ❤break and loss. Her mom and sister both passed away. One from cancer and the other suicide. Meeting Kasim and knowing his lifestyle was a challenging because of illegal activities. But together he left the streets life to become an entrepreneur. A HEA for Giselle Braxton-Moreland and Kasim
