This was a fun quick read. This one wasn’t as good as some of the other Goddess Girls books, but it was still nice to follow a new goddess. The story wasn’t super complex and was easily predictable. It was nice to see all of the other main gods and MOA and how they interacted with a new goddess.

January 1, 2019This book doesn't have as epic a plot as the other ones, but it's still a very nice comfort read.
Some of the lessons/arcs of this book are:
1. Don't try to change others, especially without their knowledge or consent.
2. Even big mistakes can be forgiven.
3. Stay true to who you are.

Very good! Or should I say: “Pink!”
12 year old Eos is the goddess of the dawn and she goes to a mortal school. She’s always feeling awkward about having wings and immortality so when a chance arrives to visit MOA her mortal bug loving friend Tithonus convinces her to enjoy the time among other godboys and godgirls. She needed convincing because Eos is afraid of (and mad/sad at) Zeus for imprisoning her titan father.
There’s a lot a layers in the story: fear of “enemies” and immortality versus a short life well lived and jealousy on top of the usual themes of coming of age and being yourself and budding romantic thoughts.
Loved this one; one of my favorites!

FINAL REVIEW
Of course, I 'll love the book and I think it was a really clever retelling. Cute characters -especially Tithonus, some lessons about life, finding yourself and the topic immortality - and a gorgeous dawn cover and back layout. It has the right balance between seeing old characters at MOA and new ones at new places. For me, this book is a top goddess girls book and one of my favorite installments, together with Persephone the Phoney, Hestia the Invisible and Medusa the Mean. Of course, I'm a little bit biased towards my favorite goddess in Greek mythology - but I think saying this is not prejudiced. I love the many rhymes and word games in the book and it's completely flawless.
Somehow it feels like a last book for me - there's not a new cover in it. I'm just a little bit disappointed that we couldn't see more of Selene apart from the moon and because she's the older sister, we won't get a book with her as a character.
*Hyperion, Eos's Dad is sweet, too -I love the family dynamics in this book! *
**Why must I think of the Penderwicks at last? Perhaps because it's my only other middle grade novel this year- but I would say that there are at least coincidental similarites. This is great because both books inlcude elements I really adore and love (:
Again, Tithonus is great. Thinking about the context, the friendship status is really okay, although I still can't understand why the virgin goddesses Athena and Artemis had crushes in the past, and now it's so bland. Nevertheless, Tithonus is really cute. (aaaaand of course, the blushing part, this is really charming and suitable for the dawn!).
In a nutshell: A great book of Eos rhododaktylos!!!
***Why is Eos soooooo similar in her looks to Aphrodite? It was a little bit too pink (see cover). Her chiton is saffron, I thought, like described in the beginning of the book!

Wow, this is interesting!!! Turned out that we'll get a very good, classic Goddess Girls books (Not too much crammed and not too thin). My guessings (below) were wrong, but I see where the myth is taken from. And some good old characters next to new introduced ones. It's quite close to a very interesting myth and T. is so cute and adorable. Eos is a nice character, reminds me of my Lydia Penderwick. It's a really good story about being different and special. The friendship part is nicely done, the family story is interesting, and the core myth is represented on a really funny, entertaining way!
My opinion: One of the best Goddess Girls Books
It continues Nyx the Mysterious. I pity only that Medea is between the two books (should have been a Goddess Girls Special). For me, Eos is GG"23.
May I hope we'll get some time later a book about Selene????

I didn't plan to prereview a book that will be released in Dezember, but hoping for this book for two years (but actually always) caused a little exited anticipation. We met Eos, goddess of the dawn, in Nyx the mysterious, and it is such a pleasure to see this lovely, early, lighthearted goddess (by the way my favorite!) again in a book on her own. I'm sure that the connection of the authors's engaging writing and the great Greek myths will make this a fab read! The funny, happy twists and solutions for the rather tragic original myths are always charming!

OK, I didn't plan because of possible "spoilers", but I just want to think about what we could meet. I asked about two years ago the authors for a book about Eos and I'm really, really exited. Eos is a famous goddess, and I really don't understand why she has not appeared earlier! I hope the Norse mythology has not a negative impact on Goddess Girls - Medea was a surprising, yet creative adventure, but I won't forgive the mistake with Paris in the book (he isn't Greek, but a Prince of Troy!).
My problem is not only my knowledge of mythology, but in fact, that I wrote a GG fanfic Eos the Early. Therefore, I have expectations and I'm a little bit afraid that I will be disappointed (I was, in fact, of Medea, not because of any flaws, but because of my imagination). To remember it clearly, I'll put here some plot parts of mythology (that could happen) and some glimpses of my ideas (Joan and Suzanne, you may make use of it (:). :
- Eos is the sister of moon goddess Selene and the sun god Helios. She is the goddess of dawn. And in fact, she is of course, a girl, although she has a special, male-looking name. (Where east and Easter is derived from!)
- Eos' main love interest is.... Tithonos. I'm really exited to have a little (future) couple again....please, after "awkward-cute" solutions Pallas and Achilles, and non-successful- ones like Calliope and Homer, Echo and Narcissus, Medea and Jason, and times without couples (Nyx), this real couple has to be used!!! Please, Hades and Persephone was the best and this could never, ever reached so far.
I'm trusting on a happy end for the tragic myth!
- The myth of Memnon is possible. (I'm thinking about something like in Medusa the Mean (: )
- the myth about Cephalus and Procris (should need a happy end like O. and E. (: )
Well,myth book is closed! I could never guess the authors' surprises and twists so far!!!

I kind of predicted that Tithonus would not want to be immortal. This book was good but predictable.

DD1 has learned a lot about Greek mythology reading from this series. She chose this book for us to read together. I thought it was cleverly done, both for the mythology that is included (in an age-appropriate way) and the way it addresses relationship issues that modern-day kids may face. Eos struggles with complicated feelings towards her dad, who is imprisoned in the Underworld, and feeling like a misfit at school, where she’s the only immortal. She also feels bad about her best friend’s mortality. Her solution to two of those three problems is to find a way to make Tithonus immortal, but she doesn’t stop to ask him first, offering readers an example of the dangers of making assumptions.
I think I would have been a big fan of this series if it had been around when I was a kid, and I’d be happy to read some more.

This installment of the Goddess Girls series is a heavy hitter. Just some of the running themes include: death, war, imprisonment, and growing up in a broken home. Definitely deep themes for a JUV book, but they are important topics to discuss.

It would have been better if the authors had done enough research to sound credible about bugs.

This was the worst goddessgirl book I’ve read. I love the series a lot. But I also love the main characters and if they aren’t the focus then I’d at least like it to be set at MOA. :(

This is a really good series and this instalment is like the others it retells the stories from Greek mythology in a fun and kid friendly way.

I’m not sure if the last few books just aren’t as good, or if I don’t like the books featuring random characters. I guess I’ll see with the next one.
