this was much more a f*k fest for Alex and Meghan than anything else. A the pregnancy story for Tori and Drae. There was not much Stephanie and Calder. There was just too much going on in this book. It was too long, with too many storylines. I found my self skipping the sex scenes, along with others, just to power through.
This was supposed to be the Stephanie and Calder story wrapped through the birth of Draegyn and Tori's baby. Instead I felt like it was Meghan and Alex's sex life on display- literally. The stable story was hysterical as was the corresponding Christmas follow up. I had to read it to my husband due to the look on his face because I was laughing so hard. And, I was laughing so hard I could barely read it. But, enough already. Scene after scene in every possible location all day, and night. Too much.
And, for the first time in this wonderful series, I was upset and disturbed by the acceptance of violence by one of our military veterans. The "taking" of Meghan in one very violent, rough and painful scene had me so angry I was shaking. With all our real life veterans returning home dealing with real life demons from the horrors of war, I always appreciated Ms. Halliday's portrayal of the damage our heroes have to live with. That said, we do not need to see the families being subjected to, and worse, accepting of violent behavior. And yes, I know what I'm talking about: father, brother, close friends, and as a councilor. Been there, done that. So when I read that scene I was furious. This was NOT OK behavior no matter the emotional baggage.
Otherwise I totally enjoyed another visit with our Justice Family and look forward to more, without the abusive behavior.
This is the start of Family Justice! When you think Suzanne can't surprise you anymore she then produces this.
Stephanie Bennent, former Beauty Queen, Rodeo champion, and now pageant director arrives in Bendover you can expect fireworks. Here to help her daughter Victoria and her new husband Drae get ready for the birth of her first grandchild she is not what Calder Dane expected at all.
Calder is Alex's Uncle and he's arrived to help with the Agency while Alex and Meghan spend time together. He's pre-conceived ideas in regards to Stephanie and the actual reality knock him on his butt.
Lust and instant attraction. These two who thought they were too old to find love, find it the most unexpected places.
There's misunderstandings, and harsh words are spoken. When Calder and Stephanie finally together you find yourself cheering.
This book was a great one to read as it wraps things up with the Justice Brothers. I loved being able to see all of them happy and acting like the family they are with lots of love and ribbing.
The addition of Calder and Stephanie brought about some interesting turns. I loved how Meghan and Alex turned matchmaker, how Drae learned what a real mother was and how Tori dealt with seeing her mother as a woman interested in a man. Like all the other Justice men Calder messed things up, but in the end he came through and went for the woman he wanted.
As this book has a new series name I really hope that it is a spin off series set in the Justice compound with new people.
I loved this book. It offered glimpses of each of the Justice Brothers and brought about a sense of completion to Tori and Drae's whirlwind relationship. Each new story from Suzanne is like visiting with old friends over coffee. You know some major (and minor) events have taken place in your absence... You just need a little catching up to get you up to speed. My heart melted with Stephanie's (Tori's Mom) and Calder's (Alex's Uncle) storyline. Finally, a mature love story. Yes, the younger generation has their place in romance novels... but what happens when you're old enough to have experienced love and lost and am not sure you're ready to love again?
I highly recommend reading this latest novel. I, for one, cannot wait for more!!!!
The back cover claimed this was about Tori's mother and Alex's uncle's relationship. About 3 chapters collectively were about them. The rest of the book was about the 3 couples mostly screwing and the delivery of a baby. Oh maybe 3 paragraphs about Brody to set the book for him. It was well written and flowed. I enjoyed reading it but felt shorted because it was the story I expected.
I really struggled with this book, it didn't feel like the same series. it was supposed to be Calder and Stephanie's story but it did feel like it was with all the other things going on
I literally cannot get enough of Suzanne Halliday's books. Each and every one of them has blown me away, and I have absolutely loved them all. I first fell in love with her Justice Brothers when I read Broken Justice. With Fixing Justice and Redeeming Justice I just continued to fall head over heels in love with each of these dynamic characters.
I cannot get enough of their highly engaging and wholly unique selves. Each and every one of them adds to the amazing picture that is the Justice Brothers. They are some of my all time favorite characters, and when they all come together it's nothing short of magical or interesting.
This book, Always is the first book in the Family Justice Series and continues with all of the characters I've come to love, along with some new faces that had me smiling like crazy. This book is fantastic, and I loved every single word of it. While reading this book I had the happiest feeling because I had yet another wonderful reading experience with all these phenomenal characters. They truly are something else, and the way Suzanne Halliday brings them all to life is nothing short of magnificent.
I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars, because it truly deserves it after the beyond amazing reading experience it gave me.
Always, follows Stephanie Bennett, Tori's mother. And let me tell you: that is one fierce and feisty lady, and I loved her to death. She was such a fun character to read. She was spunky and high spirited, and she never stopped being her. Stephanie was also a character I couldn't help but love because of how much love she showed Tori and Draegyn. The amount of love her story had was beautiful and it just made my heart melt over and over again. Seriously. Stephanie Bennett is a female character that will win you over in spades.
Now this wouldn't be a love story without a love interest, and that's where Calder Dane comes in. He's Alex's uncle, and let's just say he is one swoon worthy gentleman. (Even his name makes me want to swoon!!) Calder was a gem of a male character to read. Stepping into his head was fantastic, and it just explained so much about him. That man feels with all he has, and getting the chance to step into his head and feel all that he feels just warmed my heart and made me love his character more. Calder is strong, and protective, and phenomenal to read, so you can pretty much guarantee that you'll love him to pieces.
This book outstandingly balances so many aspects, and the way that it all comes together in such a balanced way will just have you loving this exceptional book and these thoughtfully developed characters over and over again.
Always, gives you the blooming relationship between Calder and Stephanie. Their relationship is nothing short of interesting, and they both hooked me in from the start. Both of these characters are so headstrong and fierce, and reading them come together in this story was simply the best. Their relationship together gets off to a rocky start to say the least, but reading these two try to make sense of their conflicting emotions and very strong feelings was fantastic. Their chemistry and connection together is off the charts, and you will have your fingers crossed throughout this entire book that these two characters figure out a way to make it all work.
One of the aspects that I loved most about this book was getting to spend so much time with the characters I met in the Justice Brothers books. I seriously couldn't get enough of all of them. Cameron, Lacey, Draegyn, Tori, Alex, Meghan and all the other fabulous members of the Justice Brothers family just make my heart smile. This book gives you the phenomenal opportunity to spend more time with all of these characters once again, and with each word you read of them in this book, you realize once again why they are all such fantastically unforgettable characters.
This book puts family Justice through some interesting situations that they weren't prepared for. There are moments that will make your heart swoon and melt. Other that will have it racing and breaking from the hurt and concern that you are reading. Some moments will bring a serious flush to your cheeks, but through it all you will just realize over and over again that these characters and this series are combining to make one unforgettably amazing book.
This book also delves more into the other people that make up the Justice Family, and I for one was sold on each and every one of them. I also cannot wait to dive into more with those characters. (cough cough Brody and Parker cough cough)Suzanne Halliday creates and writes these characters in such a way that they feel so real and authentic. I feel as if I know each and every one of them personally, and having that experience and level of connection as a reader is the absolute best experience to have.
The theme of family and love permeates and weaves its way through this book is such a thoughtful way that will just leave you in awe of all that you are feeling and reading with this book. You feel that theme in the varied and extremely well thought out relationships that characterize this series. You feel that theme again in all the interactions these vibrant and engaging characters share.
I honestly cannot rave enough about this book. I loved it. I felt it. It captured me in, and I did not want it to end. Suzanne Halliday gave me a reading experience in this book that I don't think I'll ever forget. What she's made me feel for each and every one of these characters is freaking magnificent. I love her characters, and she makes it so they're so real to me as I read them and learn more about them. This book just hit home once again how much I loved all of them.
I could really go on and on about this book, this series, these unforgettable characters, and this authors phenomenal writing. She just continues to blow me away with all that she writes and creates, and I relish in the time I get to spend in the world that she so wonderfully creates in her books.
Always is a book filled with emotions. It's bursting with so much beauty and love and promise, and I for one was sold on it all. This book is a prime example of why I've loved each and every one of Suzanne Halliday's books and her writing. The characters are uniquely vibrant and will continue to win you over again and again, the story itself just doesn't quit and will keep you hooked in from beginning to end, and the extraordinary writing will envelop you in in such a way that will leave you dying for more books like this.
I for one, am dying for another books like this, and more time with all of these characters that just stole my heart. Fingers crossed that next book comes sooner rather than later!
This book did not disappoint. It had all of the wonderful family dynamics. I loved all the characters; Alex and Megan, Drae and Tori, and the addition of Stephanie and Calder. I love families and the addition of baby Daniel was great. I was amazed at how Ms. Halliday could make everything that occurred seem so special. The ending was perfect. I have read all the Justice books and I am looking forward to more Family Justice. I can see a lot of additions to the happy family. I wish everyone could have a family like Justice.
I started this series with Alex, Cam and Drae, but "NEEDED" to continue!! This Author does not disappoint. Her full length stories include all the characters with nothing left out, it's so well planned out, each time you finish a chapter, you don't want to stop. I will definitely continue this series to the very very end, that's how well defined and lovable these characters are, you fall in love instantly!!!!! Well done Suzanne, loving these Justice men is soooo easy!!!!!!!
I never thought i'd say this, but I've actually found a book where the surfeit of sex became boring. I get it. Alex and Meghan are oversexed and kinky. But I'd rather have more story and less overblown description. There's one section with an 18 page description of one sexual encounter. This is followed by a chapter or so before heading into a 15 page episode with a brief 3 page part with actual dialogue inserted in the middle. Enough already!
I just started reading this author and I enjoy her writing. This book is well written. I enjoy a good sex scene BUT this book has an excessive amount amount of sex scenes, they could have been reduced in number.
Did you know this is the first book I have ever cried while reading it, thank god I was alone. Brilliant book and can not wait till I read the rest of Justice Family, thank you for writing them
Older man Calder, hunk of Alpha male, single, older, but not too old, built like a god, drool worthy. Stephanie, mom of Tori, still beautiful, sexy, warm, loving. She came for birth of grandchild, but falls in love with Calder. Hot and sexy! Want one of those!
Really enjoyed reading this really great and well written book. Highly recommend that you read it as well. Looking forward to reading the next one of this series.
I like the characters but there were a lot of side storied going on (probably because it's set around the holidays) so it made it a bit hard to stay focused.
Always tells a new story within the Family Justice, this time we get to know Stephanie (Tori’s mother) and Calder (Alex’s Uncle). Stephanie is a brave woman who took over life as best as she could for her and Tori after losing the love of her life. Calder is a successful, intelligent, good man. They are captivated by each other, but too afraid to embrace their feelings.
In Always, we can also follow the lives from the 3 Justice Brothers couples. For me, the main highlight was Tori’s pregnancy. I loved Drae and Tori in Fixing Justice and having them back made this a great story.
I received Always as an ARC copy, but I hadn’t read the Justice Brothers series. So, in order to understand the characters and the storyline, I decided to read first the three books about the Justice Brothers, so I could write a better review for Always (even though this was going to take some time and the review wasn’t going to be an advanced review).
If you haven’t read the Justice Brothers series and are planning to read Always, I definitely recommend buying the first three books and falling in love with Cameron, Lacey, Tori, Drae, Alex and Meghan. For me, the best were the last two books of the series. Luckily, I had Always to know what came next.
I gave Always 3 stars because it was not as exciting as the last Justice Brothers books and Wilde Forever. But, I enjoyed reading more about these characters and for a change, knowing what happened after they fall madly in love. I just have to say…relax, read and enjoy all these stories just as I did.
A continuation of the Justice Brothers saga, after Redeeming Justice. A few new characters have been introduced and life is moving on. One brother is about to become a dad, one is already a dad and one is about to marry. For the way these three began, this is an amazing metamorphosis. There are complications, of course, as well as a defining moment that leads the principals of Justice Brothers, Inc to an interesting conclusion.
Part of the change involves Alex's notion to bring his uncle Calder in to run the day-to-day operations of the business while he steps back and Tori is unavailable. Another part of the change involves a formerly background character who now moves front and center.
This tells me that there are more stories to come.
My main quibble with this book is the fact that in many cases, dialogue is very badly disguised exposition - no one speaks like that. Please check that for the next story.
This book was fabulous!!! I love all of the Justice Brothers and I loved having them all in one book with tidbits to how their futures were playing out. This is the first book in the Family Justice Series and along with all the characters we already love we get to meet some new ones, which you will love just as much.
In this book we get to meet Tori’s mom, Stephanie Bennett, and Alex’s uncle, Calder Dane, let’s just say… it’s true when they say some things do get better with age and knowledge. These two were such a great addition to this already wonderful cast of characters. They have such spunk and personality you can’t help but love them.
If you have read Broken Justice, Fixing Justice and Redeeming Justice, which I highly recommend you do first, you must read this new series.
Family Justice.....oh my what a bunch of incredible people, love their extended family blood wise or heart wise....Once you make it into the Justice's circle, you were theirs forever.....They'll have your back no matter what.
The Justice brothers with their wives and little familes showed everyone that no matter what goes on in your past, it doesn't define you....Love how even Tori's mom and Alex's uncle found happiness with each other while their stayed with the Justice family. Victoria had a challenging pregnancy but in the end everything worked out and the bundle of joy was welcomed into the world and the Justice family.
Such a beautiful read, you have everything that makes romance books a wonderful escape....Looking forward to the next novel in the Family Justice series.
I really loved the Justice Brothers books..Suzanne just has a way of writing that's so real. God, this book especially made me laugh so hard sometimes. Her characters are people I will not soon forget. This book picks up with the Justice family living their lives in Arizona at the Justice compound. From there it's all about all the characters , and another sweet story about Tori's mom and Alex's uncle Calder. For me that story could have been better but the rest of it was great. These stories can be read as stand-alones but really to get the best enjoyment you should start with Broken Justice, it's free right now. You will be happy to get to readin and will not put them down till done, I should know I'm now starting the second Family Justice book, now. Enjoy....and thanks Suzanne Halliday, you are definitely on my auto buy, you are amazeballz....
From the beginning I've loved the Justice Family series. Great stories with fully flushed characters. Having grown up military and marrying military, I appreciate the real life aspects Ms. Halliday brings to her characters, their lives, and especially their interactions. I run the gamut of emotions with her stories, from tears to laughing out loud. This latest edition to the series is no exception. It was great catching up with the Justice Family and to welcome the newest members. A great read!
Loved this book! I always read series books and pray for glimpses of the previous lives I became a voter to. Seldom do I get such an excellent look into the lives of characters that I enjoyed, but this book does that and more.
Thank you Ms. Halliday , this book was a true breath of fresh air ams I enjoyed it tremendously. The entire series has been a joy to read- I have read all 4 book in the last 2 days - putting off everything that a busy mom is supposed to do so I could enjoy the stories.
Can't wait to read the next book and look forward to more.
I have read every book in this series and laughed and cried and smiled and enjoyed every single word that Suzanne Halliday has written. I cannot wait to read the next instalment - Onward - whenever it comes out. What an amazing cast of characters - alpha men and women, their love for each other and their love for life in the face of suspense and intrigue and pain and endurance and their amazing love of and for family and all the traditions. I shall definitely be reading this series again and again over the years ahead. These books I will always remember.
Loved this book! I love the Justice brothers an their significant others. It was nice to read about all of them and the things happening in their lives. I really enjoyed the Stephanie & Calder storyline. I am in my late 40's and even though I enjoy reading the love stories of these younger characters, it is nice to sometimes get a story of people in my age range. This book gave me that with Stephanie & Calder. I am certainly hoping there will be more Family Justice books to come!
Loved reading this book and catching up on everyone! So many thrilling things happened as well as sad things. Don't like it one bit when Drae and Cam got hurt. The justice family have come along great, even Stephanie and Calder. It's nice to read about finding love in your 50's! Thank you so much Stephanie for your justice books, looking forward to more sexy stories about the ones who are still single for now!
