Susan Griscom, writes paranormal and contemporary romance. She's hooked on gritty romances and is a huge fan of superheroes and bad boys confronted with extraordinary forces of nature, powers, and abilities beyond the norm mixed with steamy romance, of course.
She loves those days when she gets to sit around in her sweat pants, doing nothing but writing emotionally charged stories about love and violence and drinking coffee.
She lives in Northern California with her romantic husband and together they have five great superhero kids and eight mini-superhero grand kids, so far.
Having read books written by this author before I went into this story with great enthusiasm. I was optimistic about this one but it did not quite live up to my expectations. For me it was just an average read. It did not wow me as I had hoped.
This being a paranormal romance I expected to be plunged into a world of supernatural beings. This was not the case. The male main character was the supernatural being featured in the story and the female protagonist is a human with telekinetic abilities.
The plot lacked uniqueness, but the author compensated readers by creating a unique male protagonist. He was no ordinary shifter. He had the ability to shift into a dolphin and a Dragon, a concept that I found interesting. Now I understand where the idea for the title of this book originated.
The story read like a young adult romance. My reason for saying this stemmed from the actions of the male protagonist. I found his jealousy petty. If only he learnt to communicate, he could have saved himself all that stress.
I had a hard time believing Reese's sudden acceptance of Adrian's shifter abilities. One minute she had doubts about being with him, the next she was on board. The quick turnaround was unbelievable especially given her experience with shifters as a child.
Told from alternate POVs, the story introduced Adrian and Reese. Adrian is a 26-year-old multimillionaire and CEO of Waterscape Properties. His latest project involved building an underwater hotel and he needed an interior designer to decorate the rooms. This is where Reese came in; he hired her to do the job.
As you would expect from a paranormal romance the moment Adrian laid eyes on Reese his Dragon wanted to come out and play and the feeling was mutual on both sides. However, Reese's rule of not getting involved with someone she worked with especially if he is her boss threatened to get in the way. Despite Reese's reticence, Adrian's determination had her rethinking her rule.
Their romance developed rather quickly, which came as no surprise. No slow burn here.
The turn of events near to the end was unexpected. I am not sure what to make of it. I am still trying to figure out how it fit into the scheme of things.
Conclusion/Recommendation Although not my favourite by the author it still provided me the escape I yearn for whenever I pick up a book.
First of all, even though this is book #5, it can be read as a stand alone. Just one of the reasons that I love this book.
Dear Goodreads Diary, Today I met a series. You know I'm a sucker for series, but I think I met the ONE when it comes to shifter series. Ok, so until now, I've never really gotten into any kind of zodiac-based books. I'm not sure why, other than I'm not really big into astrology. SORRY! Yes, I realize how silly that sounds considering this is a SHIFTER book and I am pretty big into paranormal stories, but hey, that's just me. I think what happened was I tried to listen to TWO books from an alien romance series that I just had too much beef with. I do admit that is a ridiculous reason because they have nothing to do with each other. SO when my new BFF Julie** sent me a copy of this book, I was extremely hesitant to commit. Commitment is hard, Diary, especially when you're committing to book #5 and you haven't listened to any of the previous books. I am SO glad that I did. TTYL!
*** I do not know, nor have I ever met the narrator Julie Walters (aka Julie Niblett), but after listening to two books she's narrated, I'm a huge fan. Seriously.
This book was extremely enjoyable. It had plenty of good romance, and a story line that was actually interesting! The chase, the emotions, the hesitation, and the conclusion - I loved it all. There is really nothing about zodiacs in this book. I think the connection is that the shifter is a DOLPHIN shifter...ocean...fish (although dolphins are mammals)...pisces. I get it. It works.
I was given this audiobook for free by the narrator via an awesome facebook group, in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
Audiobook Review: Wet Kisses: Pisces (The Sectorium #5; Zodiac Shifters #30) by Susan Griscom (Author), Julie Walters (Narrator), Gene Branson (Narrator)
PNR is not usually my genre of choice, but I decided to try something new. Griscom can be a bit overpowering at times, but she brings out the feels rather quickly. Her characters are a captivating mix of sensuality and vulnerability. Wet Kisses takes on complicated with a grace that will have your heart aching, your mind racing and your senses on full alert. Adrian and Reese are fighting a losing battle, but their emotions refuse to accept defeat. Walters and Branson take that inner turmoil and make it their mission to bring it to life. They succeed with an accuracy that brings chills up your spine and thrills to a heart.
The story had some good idea and potential, but I really hate weak heroines, like really. If she thinks her biggest problem in life is having two guys compete for her attention - One of them is her boss, the other is her boss's enemy? Grow up! That is her biggest problem, but not the fact that she is in a new place, with a new and her first ever job, which could all go to hell if she pissed off either of them - getting fired (because boss), being stuck in this new place without money (because duh first job), losing house (duh, second guy owns it) and ruining her career forever (duh, your boss), and she just does not have the common sense to stay away from them both, not even for a minute does she entertain such thought instead contemplating with which of them she should dally ... then well... sorry, but no. For a supposedly smart heroine she was absolutely NOT smart and too immature for the "big shot" role she wanted to play. The whole "mate" thing. In the beginning the hero talks about finding his mate and stuff. Which gave me great expectations of some mate bond, insta-love and the works. Warning- expectations failed - there was none of it. Mentioning the government supernatural organization was completely unnecessary, the background was lacking for this, as well as the background of overall classification used in this book. First she is just a human, then suddenly she is telekinetic, then suddenly she mentions some government organizations hunting "her kind" and experimenting on them? Then she knows all about shifters, but at first glance does not realize that a DRAGON could only be one thing- a shifter, because they do not exist in the wild so to say? I just could not follow the logic.

This is book five in the series but I read it as a stand-alone. A very hot and steamy stand-alone with a setting in Hawaii…did I mention that there is a dolphin/dragon shifter? From myths, mates, bad guys, and prophecies, Adrian’s and Reese’s story have it all and in a more than perfect setting. Reese moves to Hawaii for work and ends up working for this amazingly hot surfer guy, Adrian. Reese is very adamant about not mixing business and pleasure and tries to keep boundaries. Adrian just needs to convince her that he truly likes her and not because she works for him. They are working on an incredible project when Victor (yup, the bad guy) comes popping his nose into business where it doesn’t belong. You know there is history between Victor and Adrian and the tension is thick when they interact. And our girl, Reese, gets stuck right in the middle. Adrian and Reese both have abilities and work hard at keeping them very secret but eventually walls are broken down and they slowly put the pieces together. There is some past that could keep them apart and along with Victor in the mix…well, lets just say the story didn’t end quite like I thought it was going to. Just sayin…big plot twist that is worth holding on to the end for. Love me some Wet Kisses!!
Wet Kisses is part of a Zodiac Shifters paranormal Romance Pisces Edition. It is also book 5 in the Sectorium Series. However this book could be read as a stand-alone and I highly recommend that you read it. Adrian oh my God there's so many things I could say about that man but it would sound like I was a crazy stalker! If I can meet someone like him in real life I would never let go. He is romantic, sweet, head strong and sexy. Did I mention a shifter?? The only person that is strong enough to handle his multiple sides is Reese. Reese is a brilliant woman who just flows with creativity and amazing book choices! She is stubborn and will not let anyone get in her way. This causes some good sexual tension! Fate brings these two paranormal humans together ,through drama, conflict a evil little (can't say that word) and romance will these two finally have their happily ever after? You will just have to get the book for yourself and find out!
I have read this author before and now she has gone and given us readers one that is different then most. It has gives you different levels in the paranormal which is good and refreshing. I like when a shifter is more than one so this author has given me a special treat even though Adrian considers it a torture he has to find a way to handle. You are taken into this one with characters Adrian and then Reese whom take you on their story. Adrain is a character that is one that I love to read because he has different sides that will also entrap you in his story. She also holds you with the drama and suspense that goes along with the romance in this one. I would of liked to have read the others before this one if this is a example of the fine take me away stories they could contain. This one has fire and will burn you with it along with the characters. Look forward to the next one from this author.
Wow, This was an amazing book. I have read most of the books this author has available. I had not read a shifter book by her but she definatly did an amazing job. This book was one that I read in one night. I couldn't put it down. I was hooked from the first chapter till the last page. It was very well written it had a great storyline and strong characters. This was a first for me, I have never read a book about a dolphin shifter. But wow I loved him. And the way she wrote this book was just great. Such a great read. And not only was Adrian a dolphin shifter he could also shift into a dragon. I loved the story line about Adrian and Reese. Can they possibly be mates? Can Adrian control the Dragon part of himself? Will they make it as a couple? I am not going to say, you will have to get the book to find that out. A definite must read I highly recommend!!!
*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from Lady Amber's PR*
It wasn't for me. I was intrigued with the thought of a dolphin shifter in Hawaii also obtaining a dragon form but I didn't click with the characters, couldn't agree or like a lot of what the heroine did throughout the book (though I did appreciate her making up for it... eventually). I also don't mind drama, but a lot of their misunderstanding spun me around a little too fast. I'd call this couple 'dramatic', because instead of just talking about some of the things, they kept it in, which confused me just a bit, as they both initially (and are described) as very confident people who work with or know how to handle equally important people in the business world. So it wasn't bad, but it wasn't a favorite. I think you'd like it if you enjoy shifter stories in exotic places.
This is Adrian and Reese's story . As you start this book we will meet Adrian and his thoughts and feelings over life . He is a shapeshifter and is not one with his alter souls . While out in the ocean he causes a huge wave of water that causes a passenger of a ship to fall overboard . He does go back and help her to make sure she gets hauled back on board . Reese is starting her new job today while dealing with a shoulder injury caused by her falling asleep on the deck of a ship that a wave of water knocked her off of an into the ocean . Man her first day is wicked ! I want to keep this review short since I do not want to give away too much but I just have to say that Victor SHOCKED ME !!! I swear with him .....grrrrrrr !
This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Wet Kisses: A Zodiac Shifters Paranormal Romance - Pisces by Susan Griscom is part of the Zodiac Shifters series. These books are by different authors and read stand alone. This is my first Susan Griscom read and I loved it! This quick read is filled with humor, romance, adventure and does contain a stressful situation. This is one of those rainy day reads that will have you cuddled up and falling in love with the characters. Adrian and Reese have chemistry that jumps off the page. I loved that the characters are "super heroes". They are well thought out and have all the frailties that define the human condition (yes, even our shifter). I would highly recommend this read to anyone looking to enjoy an escape into a story that won't drag you down!
Wet Kisses: A Zodiac Shifters Paranormal Romance: Pisces (The Sectorium Book 5) ..by Susan Griscom ... I was asked by Susan Griscom on Goodreads to review this book.. I couldn't be happier that she did.. I really enjoy this book (I'll admit I have a weakness for dragons) This is a cute, sexy, with a few bad feels and some great ones... the good overcomes the bad and Adrian(dolphin/dragon) and Reese (who has some powers herself) get to their HEA....I would like to catch up to them sometime in the future and find out if they get their own little dolphins and dragons... :) I will leave reviews on Amazon and Barnes and Noble on 3/30/18
When I got to the end I had a goofy grin and just let out a deep sigh. Great read that Ms Griscom does so well. Her character development is always on par and even though her books are never long enough for me (smile) they truly don''t feel like insta love because there are always levels of intricacy, in disguise. Adrian just makes me melt. He is a complicated one, charming and unassuming totally unlike she thought he would be. The heat this author ignites between these too is fire and so is his dragon. The author holds our attention the way she does well with some action and suspense and getting your heart rate all out of sorts. It's a great read.
Adrian ia the owner of waterscape properties. He is a dolphin shifter and as of 3 years ago a dragon shifter too. His dragon side is restless .
Reese is an interior design project manager, she has a twin named Quinn and she has gifts like telekinesis. She had just started working in for Adrian and the pull to each other is hard to ignore. Life never goes easy lol I love the action in this and the characters are great. The story has drama, mystery, intrigue, suspense, betrayal, suspense and some violence. I couldn't put it down. It the first time reading a book by Susan Griscom and I really enjoyed it Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
This is sort of a fun paranormal contemporary romance. This is the first one that I have read in this series and I hope the rest of the books are as delightful. The intensity of this relationship is electric and Adrian and Reese are a good fit. Reese needs to work on her powers more. If I had telekinesis, I would have it mastered before going out into the world alone. So Victor or no Victor would be smashed up on a rock and his brain putty for even touching me without my permission. My question though is Victor a paranormal because he took a lot of feet and knees to the groin and it kept on coming?
Thrilling, emotional, heartwarming, engaging and action packed romantic adventure filled with danger, suspense and passion.
Adrian Marlowe is strong, passionate, charming and a dolphin-shifter who can suddenly shift into a dragon. Reese Briden is sassy, sexy, smart and a highly creative soul that just landed her dram job as a new project manager for Adrian's company. White hot sparks fly in every direction between these two and though they fight the overwhelming attraction you just know it is only a matter of time... Enjoyed every heart pounding and exciting twist and turn.
First let me start out by saying this is the 5th Book in "A Zodiac Shifters Paranormal Romance: Pisces (The Sectorium Book 5)" series. However with that said it can be read as a standalone. I have not read any other book in this series and had no problems following this story. This is a quick read. great for a lazy afternoon by a pool or at the beach. The main characters were likable and the story flowed nicely.
I really enjoyed this book. Adrian is a super casual dolphin shifter that has a secret. He can change into a dragon as well. Reese is his new project manager working on a new underwater hotel. She is his mate and he wants to be with her, but he is her boss. She doesn't want to get involved with her boss. There's drama, intrigue, and betrayal. A wonderful story that I devoured. Can't wait for more. I love the Zodiac Shifters series.
This is a really great book. Adrian and Reese’s story is fun and sexy. They have some ups and downs in the start of a new relationship but in the end… well don’t want to give it away. Victor is another story all together…I hope the mind trick works. Now I need to read more of Susan Griscom work. Thank you for the great read.
I loved this book! Adrian & Reese were a perfect match and they were great characters. Reese is a strong female character and Adrian's a great guy, both are truly loveable characters. I hope we get a book with Reece's twin next, none of Reese's family were in this book but I'd love to see them in Quinn's and see how they're doing since the Whisper cape series!
This is the first book by Susan Griscom and the first book in the Zodiac Shifters series that I have read and it was a great read. It had just the right amount of chemistry between the characters, the right amount of steam and the right amount of intrigue going on. I loved Adrian he was so hunky and sweet. Reese was a sweet heroine.
Love this author's books. They are always a joy to read. She is a strong, sassy, emotional woman. He is her boss and a shifter who is a dolphin and suddenly a dragon. These two have a powerful attraction between them. She helps him through and understand his dual sides. I loved it and highly recommend it. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
Adrian and Reese were both great characters and likeable. Adrian had two shapes he could change into and was hesitant on revealing both shapes to Reese. Reese had her own secrets. The two had great chemistry and lots of sexy time with a great storyline. Some action and lots of fun in this book. I loved it!
This was a well-written, entertaining book. Reese has just been hired as the project manager in charge of the interior design of a new underwater hotel. Adrian is the CEO of the company and Reese's new boss. They are attracted to each other, but they are employer and employee and they both have secrets. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading others by this author.
For Adrian, it was instant love. Reese isn't so sure. One reason is that he is her boss. The other is that he is a shifter. If she can get past that part, they might have a chance. There are a few road blocks thrown in their way, but they are working toward a happy ever after.
so this is the first story by this author ive read and holy crap it was amazing. i loved it so much and the whole shifter thing.. and things were hott.. things were sexy.. and things were so much fun to read. i laughed.. i smiled.. and i felt their emotions with them. very awesome story!
I was given an ARC copy for my honest review Adrian and Reese A shifter and a human with special abilities Nice easy read considering this is book 5 in a series and I've not read any others characters were easy to like all in all great read.
