It has been said that in a marriage you only get eighty percent of what you need. When the other twenty percent is too tempting to turn down, do you decide to go with your family life, or do you take advantage of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity? Simone, Te'Nae, and Shay are picture perfect wives and career women. Although they're able to juggle prestigious jobs, motherhood, and wifely duties with ease, they share a dark secret that, if exposed, could ruin everything they've worked hard to maintain. They will only get one chance to figure out if their families and marriages are worth more than the risks they're taking. They better hope they make the right decision, because once good wives go bad, there is no turning back, and the consequences can be major.
Anna J. started writing as a child, creating short stories in her creative writing classes. This later turned into writing poetry in high school. In her early twenties she entered a short story contest, and her first work of fiction "Stories To Excite You: Menage Quad" was published. Always an avid reader, Anna J. saw a void in the industry. The types of books she wanted to read hadn't been written yet. With that in mind, she penned her first book "My Woman His Wife", published in 2004, which quickly became an Essence Magazine best seller. Anna J went on to pen 12 novels. She also participated in 9 short story compilations, and self-published 9 works of fiction. Anna J. Is currently at work on future releases.
Wow! Damn! My jaw dropped so many times reading this book. These women were really what you would call "Good Wives gone bad." Shay's story was my favorite but, I was all smiles after Simone did what she finally did. This book was a page turner and a must read, Anna J never dissappoints!!!! Took away one star because I hoped Shay situation would hit the fan differently.
One of the best books I've read in a while. Anna J is the truth!! Although all three stories were enjoyable , I loved the third story. It was hilarious hearing the husband side of things and trying to rationalize his selfish behavior lol.
This was a really good read broken down into 3 stories. The first was the most upfront demonstration of domestic violence (Darius & Simone). The 2nd story was my absolute favorite (Te'Nae & Malcolm) as you hear Te'Nae's story and how she chooses to deal with infidelity in her marriage. The final story of Shay & Justin offered a cautionary tale to people who give into temptation without weighing consequences FIRST.
I love the writings of Anna J. as she's a Philly girl but I had to remove one star for the typos I've never noticed in her previous work.
This book holds a lot of truths. Men can have a good thing (WIFE) that will do anything for them. But they are selfish and greedy. Putting time and energy in places that they shouldn't. They think that they won't get caught because they think they know their wives so well. If you knew her that well, then you'd be the perfect husband. The mess men do will cause a good woman/wife to SNAP! Every little thing will eventually add up. If you have a good one, take care of her before she takes care of you. And not in a good way, either. Anna J is a very good author that I'm growing to love!!!!!
Trigger warning if you are sensitive to domestic violence this is not the book for you. This book had 3 stories of women finding themselves on the wrong side of love. Although the first story has me cringing the other stories wasn’t so bad this book was good.
I enjoyed reading these 3 exciting stories in one book! The first 2 wives, Simone & Te'Nae were really off the chain & did what they felt they had to do. Shay's story, although not as drastic, was valuable. The storyline flowed & was well written. The characters were easily envisioned & the book did teach a lesson. This was my first time reading a book by Anna J & I look forward to reading all of her books! Great read
Exposed is the wrong title for this read. It should have been 'snapped'. I know it says when good wives go bad, but they were forced to go bad. yep, snap it is. This book consisted of three different stories, each story was good, and outrageous in it's own right. What would you do if you found out your spouse was cheating? I laughed and hollered when one of the wives cut up her husband and served, pieces of him to all of the women he had cheated with. In another story the wife was dealing with an abuser, and took the only way out she could or that she felt was right for her. The stories were good and I look forward to reading something else by this author.
Anna killed it! I felt for these woman and at the end I was rooting for them! These woman are crazy but the scenes she painted at the end of each woman’s story were so vivid and I loved it.
Simone, Te'Nae, and Shay are picture perfect wives and career women.
They each share a dark secret that, if exposed, could ruin everything they've worked hard to maintain.
The events in this story are events that happens daily.
The title to this book is perfect. The story line is very good, when first reading I was expecting one person's story but the book gives you the inside of 3 different stories.
Great job Anna J for telling a story with real life events.
This book by Anna J. was different. It's about 3 different couples who Had a mate that cheated except the last couple both cheated. The first 2 stories ended with a murder but, the second murder was gruesome and sad because children were involved. Moral of all three stories, don't cheat. There was some serious domestic abuse in the first story. Read it guys.
I purchased this book on sale at my local library branch for $1 talk about BANG for your buck! These collection of 3 stories was a real page turner you'll find yourself reading until the wee hours of the night trying to figure out what happens next.
I enjoyed this book the first and second stories I liked the last story was okay but not really what I thought it was going to be due to the first two stories. Overall a good book.
I had no idea this was going to be different stories about different couples so that took me aback. I’m usually not a fan of this format for telling multiple stories, but it had a continuum like feel to it so it kept me engaged. The first couple had domestic violence going on and it was graphic so if that’s a trigger for you, don’t read it. I wouldn’t even say that’s a trigger for me but it got graphic a lot and I would skip over parts. And after reading a graphic violent scene, I definitely couldn’t get with the sex scene to follow it. Way too much trauma going on for me. However, the story overall was okay. It was a good ending as far as abuse stories go so that was cool. The second couple started off bad because the narrator was talking to the reader and that annoys me. I just sucked it up though and kept reading the story for the content. And as a nurse, I’m very familiar with adult diapers but the fact that the main character wore one without a care in the world was wild to me. I guess that’s a testament to her mental state lol. Once again, violence followed by sex scenes. It’s a hard turn off for me. And the ending was very anticlimactic. By the time the third couple came about I wanted to DNF. I wouldn’t even call the third wife “good” because she was a mess herself. However, I liked getting the male perspective in the story. It was slightly more realistic. Overall, it was an okay read but there were some jaw dropping moments.
The first story (out of three) was probably the toughest for me to read, but it was insightful. There are times we can be on the outside looking in judging people for their choices, when we really could never know what its use unless we were in the same situation ourselves. Story number two was one of the most unhinged piece of work that I have ever read, but I loved it, LOL. I mean if you even just opened this book for the last two stories of the book you would be pleased with how with every word this author grabs your attention to see what comes next. Lastly, is story three. This one had the most lesson come out of it. Just the simplest reminders can keep you on your toes and although fiction, will have you remembering gross isn't always greener on the other side or one mistake/choice can change and even ruin your life. Overall, great book full of life lessons. Trigger Warnings Include: Abuse, SA, Murder, Dismemberment, Cheating, and STDs. Read if this looks or sounds interesting to you.
Enjoyed all three stories. Loved how Anna J. intertwined the stories. The second one was my favorite and had me laughing out loud at times!! There can sometimes be happy endings!!
2.5 stars. I wasn't a fan. The stories bored me. I didn't really care. I can't even remember what the first story was about and I just finished reading.
