Cooper’s Constant

Rate this book
Coopers Constant answers fundamental questions about human folly. Why did an Alabama man go to the police station to complain about being cheated in a drug deal? Why did an Idaho woman request that the highway department remove the Deer Crossing sign on her road because too many deer were being hit by cars? The Peter Principle and the Dilbert Principle attempted to explain incompetence in organizations, and Warren Buffett spoke of the three is of the business cyclethe third i standing for the idiots, who screw it all up. Unfortunately, Dr. Peter, Scott Adams, and Warren Buffett failed to ask, "Why are so many peoplethe idiotsincompetent in the first place?" This book furnishes the answer: Coopers Constant. It introduces the reader to the mindless M-type and the M-organization, or MORG. Dont read this book unless you are willing to change your view of humanity.

I won this book on Goodreads. I am conflicted on this book, on one hand the author makes a good point on the victim mentality and how people sue over stupid reasons and the jury believes them and they will win their suit but on the other hand the things he says about politics are wrong. Clearly this is not a political book by any means but the author shows some undertones of Republican bashing. For example, he states that the Republicans (which he doesn't name but it's very clear) want to reduce the size of government and reduce spending and the non-thinker M-types fail to see that they do the opposite, which is true but that is only the RINO establishment swamp type Republicans not the conservatives who never bought into those people reducing anything. Also there are undertones of Trump bashing which I am sick and tired of. If the book was fair it would have bashed supporters of Obama for the same exact reasons stated about Trump. Also it bothered me that the author brings up flaws in the electoral college process and cites the 2000 and 2016 elections. First off, the founding fathers wanted everyone to be represented so a state like Wyoming can be recognized equally as New York or California. We are not a true democracy (which tend to result in mob rule) but a representative republic, presidential candidates wouldn't bother campaigning in small states if the electoral college process is abolished because large states and cities like NY or LA would vote in their candidate and a small state with less of a population size would never have any representation whatsoever due to the large amount of people living in cities. Moreover we have 2 senators per state due to compromise in the fact that large states have more members in the House of Representatives. The author didn't mention the fact that the non-thinker types are being molded on purpose through the media and our education process, they want our people and children to not think for themselves and in that way have control over them. There are some very interesting points in this book that I agree with but some flaws in it as well. Again this is not a political book, but I struggled with the examples in politics that was laced throughout the book.
