Ever since she can remember, Kimberly Beckett has loved horses. She wore out 4 rocking horses before she was 5 years old, and as she got older, she read every horse story in print, from Black Beauty to My Friend Flicka. Her parents couldn’t afford to buy her a horse of her own, and believed it was just a phase she would soon outgrow, but as soon as she had her first attorney job nearly 30 years ago, Kimberly bought her first horse, and she hasn’t been without at least one ever since. She has been riding dressage for several years and has earned her United States Dressage Federation Bronze Medal. When she wasn’t reading about horses, she was reading romance novels, and her favorites always involve an alpha male Hero riding a magnificent horse. Kimberly has now found a way to combine her love of horses with her love of romance by writing her own version of equine-facilitated happily ever afters. She truly believes that Horses Heal Hearts. She lives in southwest Ohio and when she isn't writing her next great love story or practicing law, she's riding Clifford, the Canadian Warmblood horse of her dreams. She hopes you enjoy her stories, and encourages you to leave positive reviews for her work. She also loves to hear from her readers. Blurb: Michael Stafford was on top of the world. A proud member of the British Olympic Dressage Team and Olympic gold medalist, his life was perfect. Then, he lost his mount, his fiancée left him for another man, and now his brother has been arrested for manslaughter. He believes his luck has turned when he learns that a beautiful and talented stallion is available in Germany, just in time to compete in the next World Cup competition. The horse’s name is Tempest.
Jessica Warren is an up and coming American dressage prodigy with a brilliant future. Orphaned at the age of 21 when her parents were tragically killed in a car accident and the legal guardian of her younger sister, Jessica has lost her competition mount to injury and needs a new horse if she wants to compete in next year’s World Cup. She learns of a spectacular horse available in Germany named Tempest, but when Jessica arrives in Germany with her trainer, she discovers she will have to compete with the extremely handsome and talented Michael Stafford for the right to ride Tempest. Jessica has nothing but respect for Michael, but sparks fly when they’re thrown together in a competition that both must win. Who will win Tempest? Will Michael be able to trust another woman with his heart? Will Jessica allow herself to be loved, or will her personal demons keep them apart?
Michael Stafford won gold medals in dressage with the British Olympic Team and as an individual. He was on top of the world with a beautiful fiancée, Emma, and a new farm of his own. A year later, his fiancé has dumped him and the owner of the stallion he rode has decided to put the horse out to stud. His friend and fellow rider, Lionel, has learned that the owner of a German stallion, Tempest, is looking for a new rider to show Tempest.
In the U.S., Jessica Warren is a dressage rider needing a sponsor. She also takes care of her younger sister who is in a wheelchair. Her dressage trainer, Liz, is trying to find her a horse who could compete internationally. Liz knows a wealthy man connected to the U.S. Dressage Federation who is willing to sponsor her on the U.S. Equestrian Team by buying an international class horse to ride. His sister, Liz and Jessica travel to Germany to try out Tempest.
As both Michael and Jessica seem to handle Tempest well, the owner decides to send his horse to Michael’s farm in England for 60 days. He will accompany Jessica to Michael’s farm and after the time allowed will select who will show Tempest.
Michael and Jessica have their ups and downs but do fall in love. Michael’s brother, Ian, a veteran of the war in Afghanistan has had a little trouble and is working on Michael’s farm. He’s a good guy and I hope he gets his own HEA one day. This is a wonderful book by a new author and I hope you’ll try it.
I’m always happy to read a book when it centers around horses and this one did not disappoint. The characters are well developed and the romance develops nicely between our two main characters. For different reasons, both Michael and Jessica need a horse named Tempest, a talented stallion that could bring their careers back to the International level, and the seller agrees to send the stallion to Michael’s farm for both him and Jessica to work with before he makes the decision who to sell to. But neither counted on falling in love...
As a debut novel, the author has given nice depth to the characters and it’s easy to believe you are a spectator in the book instead of reading it. Reviewed by Cyrene 4 1/2 Stars

📖 Overall, "Dressage Dreaming" is a heartfelt story about love, resilience, and the bond between humans and horses. If you enjoy equestrian fiction and touching romances, this book is for you! I'm excited to see where the series goes next.
🐎 I am no a fan of horse race, or do I know anything about horses, but I find all the information about about the horses very interesting. Michael Stafford and Jessica Warren is trying to get the same stallion to ride, so they can enter the competition of their dreams. There are complications on all sides. Pretentious Lionel (who needs a friend like that) he is working against Michael like a snake, and the owner of the house can't make up his mind who to give the horse to. Michael and Jessica was forced to work together with the horse. Dispite all odds, they become close, feeling develops and the rest is history. A romantic, engaging and enjoyable read. Love the narration.
This book is in a genre (romance) I don't usually read, but the author is in a Facebook group I'm in, it has horses, and I wanted to be supportive. I'm glad I read it! The horse parts ring true and the characters are all well drawn. The end felt a bit rushed, but probably because I wanted to read more. Looking forward to Book 2!
A sweet, touching and heart warming tale this one is. The smooth yet unique plot and a comprehensive storyline made this book a special to me and I am sure that readers will enjoy this book bit by but. Much recommendable.
