Absolutely my favorite cookbook (I love to bake). For the Black Forest Cake alone this book is worthwhile, but she has so many great tips and instructions and anecdotes. How to curl chocolate, how to whip cream, how to properly cream the batter. Awesome awesome awesome. My copy is completely dog-eared and underlined. I love it.

I bought this in college and my oh my have I used it to death. The only cake I cannot replicate with this is my mother-in-law's poppyseed cake. She has since given me the recipe because my husband needs this cake for his birthday. My "famous" lemon blueberry pound cake is a hybrid of two recipes in this book - and it falls open to those two pages.

This is a beautiful yet practical cookbook for anyone who loves to bake. The cakes range from easy to make white cake to elegant and elaborate wedding cakes. Of course, there is plenty of chocolate too. :)

One of my top go to books for baking, great recipes and that can be easily built upon or adapted for special dietary needs. I have tried literally every recipe in this book and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended!

A great reference book on baking. I like the science of cake baking, the why of how a cake is mixed.
