This was an easy , powerful read with a simple message. I did some searching on some of the companies references to see how they are doing and it is evident that many of the disciplines were followed and worked out. Only, negative was I must have received a re-print of the paperback and the glue holding the pages was nothing a good job. At least 6 pages fell out as as was reading. I received a complimentary copy so not going to complain.
Seldom does one get excited about a non-fiction book. However, for the seasoned or novice leader within a business, this book is a must read and should be part of one's digital or hard copy library for the intitial read and study and as a continual reference book.

There are many nuggets and gems to mine from this valuable book on becoming a management pro.
This isn’t your average run of the mill “How to be a good manager” book. It really breaks it down to help the reader understand all of the essential parts and how they come together to create a successful and good leader. Just one missing component could compromise the whole scheme of things and affect the overall goal of being a great manager. I enjoyed the real life situations as they really added a great voice of action and demonstration of how it all works and the overall goal. The writing is clear and concise and doesn’t leave us wondering what we are missing which makes the book very appropriately named. I’d recommend this book to anyone in a manager type position as well as anyone who even thinks they might want to be a manager someday. It is well worth the time.
Brett identified what he needed in order to thrive in the business world and acted accordingly. His staffs lacked the required skills and therefore few of his long-term employees either resigned other was fired by him. Adopting a transformational leadership strategy, Brett also developed leadership skills during the whole process and each time learned different tactics and strategies. The after effect of reading the book is very advantageous as it teaches the reader to leave the comfort zone in order to challenge thinking. I will surely advise readers, especially from the business sector to read this book.
