Gillian’s delighted that Jessica and Logan are spending the Thanksgiving holiday in Bend Brook – until a body is found and Jessica is suspected of having a part in the murder.
As Gillian uncovers layers of the murderer’s motivation, she also reveals a hole in Jessica’s alibi. Gillian desperately wants to prove Jessica’s innocence, but doing so will test her own principles of right and wrong.

The Gillian Jones novels are character-driven murder mysteries which incorporate social issues and humor, and examine how the past plays a part in the present.

Slow start to this story, and finally getting the story of each of the characters, then one had more of an idea at what was at play. The drama of each from their childhood, comes back in the next generation, and also plays a part, of the two babies that will be born shortly. Then we have
the plot of Jessica, her mother gets out of prison, and wanting to make one big deal to get a car. A murder and Jessica is involved in that. A mix up of family and a lot of drama in this one. Was not my favorite in this series.

The Final Order

This book could be read as a stand alone, but it was a great ending to this five book series.
