It’s Valentine’s Day in Alabama, and Lilah Fallon is busier than ever. Not only is she trying to plan for the holiday, but she’s also on the verge of achieving her dream and opening her very own cookie shop. She has to push herself to the limits to reach her goals, juggling her ambitions with the simple necessity of making ends meet.
Life doesn’t get any easier when a local man is murdered, and one of her friends is the prime suspect. Throw in a visiting mother and a dash of romance, and Lilah has the perfect recipe for a Valentine mystery!
When Cozy Mystery author, Patti Benning, isn’t busy plotting the deaths of multiple fictitious characters, she loves to spend time hiking with her rescue dog, Max, who is her bestest writing buddy.
Patti loves to cook and the food in her books has been tried and tested in her very own kitchen. She’s technologically shy, and stays away from social media a great deal, because it makes her feel more awkward and introverted than meeting someone face to face.
Writing is the perfect job for her because in her books, she gets to explore all the topics she loves, food, animals, crafts and reading. She loves her readers dearly, and is thankful for the opportunity to share with them through her work.
Another will written mystery family and friends relationships adventure thriller short story by Patti Benning (Killer Cookie Cozy Mysteries book five). It is a year later and the cookie 🍪 shop business is going well. A man 🚹 has an accident in the shop but is OK. He is died by the evening. He did not did from the fall at the shop. She is asked to provide cookies 🍪 for the funeral and discovers that his sister had her brother killed. Reid and Lilah capture the killers. They are very happy ☺. I would recommend this novella series and author to 👍 readers of mystery novels 👍🔰. Enjoy the adventure of reading 👓 or listening 🎶 to Alexa read books 📚. 2023 👒😉😀🌙
Another entertaining series by Patti Benning. Happy reading in 2023
Lilah finally opens her own cookie shop. It is a dream come true and Lilah has finally found her place in the world. Her personal life is not faring as well. She and Reid seem to be in a rough place in their relationship due to Lilah’s insecurities. She fears the shop will close before it grows when a customer falls and hits his head in the store. He leaves in good spirits but she is still worried he may decide to sue. She really worries when she learns the man has died.
I love this series and new books need to come out a bit more frequently. Lilah is a fabulous character and well written. I also love her neighbor Margie. Their relationship is sweet and makes me wish I had a neighbor like Margie. Lilah’s relationships with Reid is interesting. Lilah’s commitment issues may need some more work. This book could stand alone, but I recommend reading the entire series. It is well written and entertaining.
In return for an honest review, I received a copy of this book. It seems like a really long time since I've seen a book from this series, so I guess it has been when the book fast forwards to a year later. It starts out sad and I was wondering how things had started to go so wrong for Lilah, but then her luck seems to change. The characters are great in this book, they are well developed and I hope to see a lot more of them. Lilah is great but I think she needs more confidence. Margie and Reid are both wonderful characters and very supportive to Lilah. I loved this book but wished I had heard more of what had happened in the past year. I quickly got over that when the book finished and I really want more.
Once again you will see an author who has mastered her craft. Interesting storyline and characters that grow more complex with each book in the series.
Lilahs cookie business is doing well. Her relationship with Reid not so much. Aman falls in her shop bumping his head and later died from severe head trauma. Lilah sets out to find out what happened to him and discovers murder.
Your books are wonderful. I hope this series will have more to follow. They are hard to put down.
At first I wasn't sure that I would like this series. I have read all your other ones. But once I stayed this one I just couldn't stop. Now I am sad that there aren't any more of this serirs. I do like how it ended
I loved the first in this series. This was the second book I read from the series, though it isn't the second in the series itself. While there was a mystery involved that did include the main character somewhat indirectly, the drama and life problems of the main character outweighed the mystery in my opinion.
I was glad to see a new book in this series. It's my favorite Patti Banning series. I love Lilah...she has a real life and real life problems. The other characters in this series are engaging as well. I hope to see more of this series.
Between the time jump and all of the personal chaos happening, this was too much. At least one or two of the side stories could have waited for another book. Time jumps are also rough seven things have been consistently tight prior.
This is a good novella, but I spent a bit of my time at the beginning feeling sad and depressed for Lilah. However, the author soon picked the story up and had me happily following along. I really enjoyed this story.
