BBW Capt. Genevieve Carson of the US Air Force has had a crush on Grant D’Angelo ever since she can remember. Now they are both far from home in Germany, over the Christmas holidays. Grant has sent her tickets to his sold-out show. She doesn’t want his pity invitation, but how can she show him that plain old Gen is a desirable woman of the world?
What will it take for these two to realize that they are fated to have a forever transcendental bond?
Like all the stories in the Alpha Phoenix series, Christmas Flame is a standalone romance and can be read in any order. Watch for the return of favorite characters, and thrill to the adventures and glamorous lives of these heroic, billionaire phoenixes and their fated mates.
This 15K short story also contains 2 bonus chapters of Phoenix Alight. It has no cliffhangers and an HEA.
Spice Alert: Transcendental love scenes are both tender and explicit.

Well, I liked this story but I had issues with it as well. The story's description says it's a standalone with no cliffhangers and the series can be read in any order. I'm iffy on the order part because there were things going on that seemed part of a deeper storyline that the MCs of this story don't know about. And the story does end with cliffhangers as multiple things are left unresolved at the end. This is the first story I've read by this author and based on this, I'm not sure if I'll try more of her work in the future.
Genevieve is a pilot in the military that was recently transferred to Germany. She's enjoying the local scenery and such but since Genevieve got stuck behind a desk, her job is boring. Genevieve is a BBW but also in the military so she's described as being Amazon-like...tall, muscular and lusciously curved. Genevieve has had a crush on Grant (her BFF's brother) for over a decade and she's sure he doesn't return the feelings.
Grant is a phoenix shifter and a world famous Opera singer. Grant's manager likes to push the image of a playboy but he hasn't really earned that image and has just been waiting for the right time to claim his mate. Grant is scheduled to perform in Germany so he invites Genevieve to his show.
I don't want to get spoilery but the description makes things pretty clear...Grant goes into this wanting to make Genevieve his wife and Genevieve just hopes to show the man she's been crushing on forever that she's s desirable woman. Both parts happen and there is a HFN that I guess is supposed to be a HEA but there's a lot left unexplained at the end, the most important of which is that Grants hasn't told Genevieve his secret. So I'm guessing I'll find out how things progress for them in the next book?
The good part about this story is that until the rather unresolved ending, I really was enjoying it. I don't know why Grant thought it was a good idea to wait for so long before admitting their connection to Genevieve but I did like both MCs. The story sometimes used terminology that's a bit corny but I didn't mind it really. Overall, the story was good and engaging...I just wish it hadn't ended with multiple questions left unanswered.

Christmas Flame Alpha Phoenix Book 5
by Isadora Montrose
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a quick, funny, and delightful read! I totally enjoyed reading this book. I have to say I have read all five books in this series. I enjoyed so many things about Christmas Flame, the funny situations, Genevieve’s quirks, the romance but at the top is Grant's characterization. He has a reputation as an international Romeo but that isn’t a good quality in the usual sense “he’s so darkly sexy! A lot of women would love to deal with him and his moods and that showed. It made a great contrast with Capt. Genevieve Carson ’s crush on him. Which made you want them to realize why they were so good for each other: they were so different that they provided each other a lot of needed balance. Now without a doubt, this is another great book. It was sexy, it was funny, it's romantic and blazing hot! There is a conflict, because famous operatic tenor Grant D’Angelo is tired of his fake reputation as an international Romeo. Once you start to read the book, you really can't put it down. I think that I enjoyed it because it was told from the main characters’ points of view: Grant and Genevieve. But for the most part of the story it's told from Grant’s point of view as he ready for his fated mate. Grant D’Angelo is a talented operatic tenor and Phoenix shifter. Capt. Genevieve Carson of the US Air Force is a smart, compassionate, and caring. Grant is not happy with the situation, because he is attracted to Genevieve, but he just think that she doesn't want to belong to him due to a misunderstanding. This story has drama, steamy sexy times and romance, just what you want to read, if you are looking for a fun book to lose yourself in for a few hours then I'd give this one a try. I must say the shifter/magic component in this book is fabulous and it plays a big role in the story. That's what I actually enjoy about the story but if you're looking for a ton of fun in a story then you will totally enjoy this story that I highly recommend.

Phoenix Christmas Bride (Christmas Flame) is a sweet novella with a little steam and some exciting action. Phoenix Grant D’Angelo, The Angel of the Opera, has longed for his mate Genevieve for many years. She, in turn, had pined for him. They meet in Frankfurt with their Christmas wishes in their hearts. Will Santa grant their wish list or will they leave disappointed and unfulfilled? Loved how our heroine comes to see how beautiful she is regardless of society’s expectations. The eyes of love see beyond the surface and Grant’s eyes are wide open. Read this delightful story and see if they do make some beautiful music together.

Good story, but left me slightly disappointed.
Chrisman Flame is a decent story, though there are parts that seem a little underdeveloped. Though described as a standalone, it really doesn't feel like it. The ending is a bit anticlimactic and the character's story is said to continue in the next book. Though the story was ok, it left me slight confused about some story arcs, and divinity unsatisfied at the ending. Not really incentive to read any of the other books in the series.

This was a fun, little read. Great for passing time. I liked the characters and would definitely like to get to know them more, along with the others. This was shorter than I thought: a novella, not full-length. Still awesome and packs a punch. This has great characters and personalities, suspense, a little actions, some steaminess, good friends, emotions and a good ending. Good for the quick escape and reading anytime. Enjoy.

Re-read!
I read this one a while ago and had to re-read it for the holiday season! I'm glad I did because it reminded me that I wanted to read the entire series and had added it to my TBR list but that beast just keeps getting larger instead of smaller. I really enjoyed this book though so I have to move the first 4 up.

Christmas Magic, a phoenix's song and a phoenix's mate, add all those together and you get this sweet Christmas tale about how the Angel of the Opera finally claims his mate and saves her from the bad guy

This is a fast and truly romantic story. I don’t want to say too much and spoil things. But there is singing, some fighting and a hot ending. Can’t wait to read more from this series. A great book and series for any paranormal romance reader.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.

This was a really short teaser, with no real ending. (Because its a series duh..)
I didnt feel like I connected with the characters, the story felt a little rushed, with small detail and I just dont feel like this was my kinda book.
Might just be me.

Contains sexual content.
I'm kinda bummed the story didn't have an ending, but it was still a good story. This one brings in more of the military people from the D'Angelo's and the people they know. I like that these stories don't have all the foul language that most PNRs do.

A sweet HFN
I like Genevieve, an Air Force Captain, she is strong and capable. Grant has been hiding his real self in more ways than one. She thinks their Christmas Eve reunion is just for friends. Boy is she wrong and there’s more. A fun short read.

Thoroughly enjoyable rad.
Can an opera singer find his true love in Germany?
Can a Texas girl find her heart on Christmas?

He's a phoenix, she's his mate. They've both decided they're in love with each other years before this book starts so how they get together is not that interesting.

Christmas Flame
Grant the only non military child in the family was a singer. World famous at that. He been in love with Genevieve for years and now he was ready for his fated mate. Genevieve had a crush on Grant since school. She thought he was a playboy with a women in every city.
Great book.

CLIFFHANGER!!
This is only a small part of the romance for Gen and Grant, sheiks agrees to marry him on their first night together as adults. But that’s where they basically left off on Christmas morning. Nothing else. Secondly there was too much inconsistencies and it was confusing.

The true 4th Phoenix book.
It is as good as the rest of the series my only real complaint was that it was too short and only half the story. And should be followed by Phoenix Alight in the reading list. Now off to read Phoenix Alight... ;)
