pros
- GOOD GRAMMAR!!! until i read abt tom cheating on hermione i gave this 2!! stars!!! just bc of this!! holy FUCKING shit you don't know how much this means bc every other fic always has one or two repetitive, glaring grammar issues that piss me off. the ones that DO have good grammar always do that weird parentheses thing. e.g. He didn't look at her. (Sweet laughter, soft rain, the rustle of a dress, the beginnings of a song he'd long-forgotten—) nothing wrong w the parentheses writing style, it's just... this was refreshing

edit with hindsight after finishing this IT'S ALWAYS THE AUTHORS WITH GOOD GRAMMAR WHO BETRAY ME. WHAT THE FUCK. THIS SAME SHIT HAPPENED WITH THAT TIME TRAVELING SIRIUS X HERMIONE FIC OMG THE AUTHORS BAITED ME WITH GOOD GRAMMAR AND THEY THEN PROCEEDED TO IRREVOCABLY DISGUST ME. you all will NOT be seeing the gates of heaven for your sins!!!!
- the art is really good! this is a weird thing to give brownie points for but let me be real so many other authors put art inside their story and 99.999̅% of the time it looks like straight dog shit. like. terrible. to the point where it just ruins my immersion and all i feel is disgust. the way the characters are depicted in the art doesn't match my image of them at all bc tbh they're all ugly (tom looks like connor from detroit become human & hermione looks like a very very sad vers of emma watson) but the art style is undeniably gorgeous and the best out of the thousands of fics i've read
cons
- hermione is just so.. flat. she's bumbling and blushing around tom IMMEDIATELY, kinda forgetting that he will become voldemort, aka magical hitler. like???? all she should be feeling is hate, and then you can get in some internal conflict over her budding feelings. soooo weird. at first i was cool with how chill she was taking everything because, while it's very understandable, having to read the part of tomione stories where hermione is like ??!?!??!?!? WTF is super annoying and i was glad that this skipped over that. but then she just didn't react to anything the way she should and i was like. uh.
- tom doesn't make sense? this super conniving, intelligent, future dark lord falls in love at first sight and acts like a 10 year old over a little crush? he's always throwing little tantrums too and idk i'm fine with oocness most times but here it just makes both tom and hermione look stupid
- the story ends up falling really flat bc the characters are written in such a juvenile way and it makes me so sad because there was real potential here :(
- i know i just praised the author for her writing but she does this one thing that annoys me
A character will be doing an action here and then will pause with a line break after that has their dialogue, like so,

"Now they are speaking."
it reads like a script or smth but idk it was cool the 1st time and now it kinda drives me crazy
- mehhhh. timeline shenanigans were weird. doesn't make sense to me how it's supposed to be a closed time loop deal & then BAM actually it isn't. like? what the fuck was hermione doing in the og timeline? twiddling her fucking fingers?? why is it different this time around?
- i also don't like the whole voldemort fusion thing. like. ??? this is a man who's split his soul so many times he can no longer be human. he is a certified psychopath and i have a hard time believing he's anywhere near capable of frolicking around with grandma hermione. i certainly don't believe that this man would be able to tell hermione he loves her, but tom, her husband, the father of her child, the man who was besotted with her for 50 years, couldn't.
- ????? HELLO????? EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THE FUCK HERMIONE WAS OKAY WITH HER HUSBAND ACTIVELY DISCRIMINATING AGAINST MUGGLE-BORNS. EXPLAIN. THIS IS LITERALLY RIDICULOUS
- absolutely stupid that he kills a DARK wizard and then proclaims himself the DARK lord. are you fucking serious? he'd get so much pushback from that pls be serious like no one's gonna want to deal w grindelwald 2.0 after he just died. this is why so many tomione fics have tom give up being voldemort and instead becoming minister - it's because that makes sense. the entire wizarding population should be mirroring maggie's thoughts

He had taken other women, using emotionless liaisons to forge and break connections, to climb ever higher up the ladder of power. Every time he'd taken one of them, he'd thought of her.

Voldemort felt a pang of guilt roil through him then, a sickening and unfamiliar sensation that coiled in his abdomen and tightened like a spring as he realised her words. I never touched anyone else. He could not make that same declaration to her.

surprisingly i wasn't pissed bc my eyes rolled so many times whenever tom was like "um AKSHUALLY u need to call me DARK LORD" and i was basically done w the fic. but this is my #1 thing i can't accept in any fic. cheating is 100000% a dealbreaker for me. happy that the fic sucks because if it'd actually been good and THEN he'd cheated i would've been FURIOUS.

but the author had to push this and have tom be like "oh baby they were nothing to me ily" girl SHUT THE FUCK UP AT THAT POINT I WAS FUMING LMFAOOO this story is dog shit and if i could i'd give it 0 stars. goodreads stop holding me back let me be free
- makes no sense how he can't find hermione. they are IN the same country and he's basically king and the strongest wizard alive do NOT make me fucking laugh he would've found her so fast. instead he decides to fuck other women like okay man

I couldn’t get into it. I just didn’t like Hermione in this fic and Tom came off as beta. The whole point of tomione is for tom to be somewhat toxic and controlling. He just didn’t have that edge in this fic. When it started doing too many flash forwards, I completely lost interest.
