After four years of a staggering situationship, Earth finally comes to grips with the fact that her bedmate, Premise, is uninterested in changing their status. She's the only one to blame and takes full responsibility for the lack of commitment he's shown throughout their time together. As another year rolls around, and their fifth anniversary approaches, Earth decides that she can no longer withstand his ill-treatment and the neglecting of her deepest desires. She conjures a plan and, strategically, dismantles Premise from his core with a simple tap of her finger and flick of her wrist. For Premise, the term, "What you won't do, another will," doesn't quite hold relevance in his life until he's on the receiving end of indescribable pain caused by the woman he thought would continue to wait in vain until he noticed her.

Earth dedicated 5 years to Premise. Sadly even after all that time he just couldn’t commit so Earth said BET and here we have “unintentional revenge – is the sweetest kind.”
Earth is tired of waiting. For years she has entertained a situation ship with Premise and she finally puts her foot down, because she wants and deserves more. She gets unintentional revenge and the story ends 😒
Grey calls this a prequel, but it did not need to be separate book as if felt hella unfinished.
Now THIS is what I mean when I say I want a 🥷 SIIIIICK behind doing me dirty!!
This was definitely sweet sweet revenge and I was here for it all. After Earth decided it was time to walk away from her dead end 5 year relationship she realized that the grief of said loss was more than she bargained for.
In an effort to get over her previous man Earth decided to hop on a not so new new one. She couldn’t have planned for and executed a more perfect night if she tried and baby those pieces fell perfectly in place!
It was her holding her head high and strutting tf off at the end for me! We love when a 🥷 gets a heavy dose of fk around and found out!
The novella killa was doin her thing even in 2018! It was short, sweet and to the point! I can’t wait to see Earth’s glow up in book 2.
Earth has been waiting 5 long years for Premise to make their "relationship" a priority. He just keeps lying, cheating and shuffling along! Broken-hearted!
Earth runs into an old flame, Aben, on Valentine's Day, the day she had planned to spend with Premise. But Karma can appear at anytime. And good, old Premise is about to receive the biggest payback that even he couldn't have imagined!
The premise is kinda hilarious in a way. Karma is a mutha***** and dude got just what he deserved. Why is a real one not enough? Why is a stunner not enough? Why is a woman that will give you her last breath not enough? Why do we seek to hurt and destroy that wish we claim to cherish the most?
Grey Huffington writes these tales and you feel them. There's always a HEA, but getting to that point takes a lot of twists and turns, but the reward ay the end makes it so worth it.
"Earth and Premise have this complex, sorta-kinda relationship vibe going on, with Premise pretty much cool with how things are. But Earth? She's feeling a bit restless. So, on Valentine's Day, she ends up rekindling a flame from her past, and wouldn't you know, Premise catches the whole thing from his window. Talk about a twist! The way things unfold after? Chef's kiss for revenge. Definitely a page-turner, and you bet I'm on the lookout for any sequels focusing on Earth!"
That’s what we’ll call this one. This was short and sweet and I ate it UP. I really enjoyed this story about Earth and Premise.
The one part I loved was even if it wasn’t what Earth wanted to hear in the end, Premise was honest with her about his intentions. And even better he was honest with his self as well. Definitely a breath of fresh air.
Still making my way through Grey’s entire catalog, happily.
I'm liking these Grey Huffington stories. Storyline held my attention as Premise did not take Earth seriously with her ultimatum. After reading those scenes with Aben, I'm sure she made the right choice, lol. On to next part
Yes I loved it because Earth got her revenge without even knowing it. Premise should have just been honest in the beginning and not give Earth false hope but unfortunately he didn't so she had to do what was best for her and I'm glad she did. That should have gave Premise a whole lot to think about. Can't wait for the prequel great job!
Haha! He played with the wrong one. Earth loved Premise but he wasn’t ready to commit. He wanted his cake and eat it too. But Earth was tired of the B.S.
So let me just say this Grey has become my favorite. I love these short/novelette stories. She’s building and taking you on the journey right along with her. First the Syx series and now this. Smh I can’t believe I have to wait until Spring. This was sooo good and though I’m impatient I wait with expectancy because this series is gon’ be good.
Hmmmm, Premise. His name alone is intriguing. I swear Grey captivates me with her character names alone. Earth. Now, I understood her reasoning to end the relationship. Favorite part - Premise vomiting in the garage. CLASSIC! If this is the prequel, the actual story must spine tingling
And of course there’s a book 2, when I’m still trying to figure out what the hell was going on in book 1!! Like for instance, what did Premise say to Earth at dinner? How was her friends apartment conveniently adjacent to Premise’s little friend? The last scene with Earth and her therapist/friend.... just didn’t make a whole lot of sense.
Earth gave Premise everything he wanted and there some and fool still couldn't get his life together. Karma got his trifling self tho. Earth shows you that no matter how much you give if the person isn't in the correct space to receive it it won't matter what you did for them.
Earth shows Premise that she is a woman of her words. Either you are in or you out. She gives Premise what he wants, which is to live his life commitment free. However, seeing her with another man upsets him terribly.
Sexy and right to the point. Earth is a bad girl. She's tired of dealing with Premise and his foolishness. Premise doesn't know what he wants, but I think he loves Earth. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Grey Huffington gave us 58 pages of pure, lyrical, grown-woman petty power—and I need a sequel yesterday. (Yes I know this is an older book, I’m being dramatic lol) “Yourself, Earth. That’s all you need. A man is a simple accessory that we can look good without.” Vibe Check: This is for the girls who’ve been in a situationship too long and finally said: “You know what? Let me remind this man who TF I am.” “I couldn’t help but to get another glance at Premise. He looked pathetic, pull all over his clothing. He’d even blessed his little helper with whatever the hell contents his stomach contained.” Okay she fucked him up bad!
Poetic, intimate, and ruthless in the softest way, The Sweetest Revenge is a short but unforgettable story of closure… on your own terms. My Experience: Earth is such a real character. You feel every ounce of her frustration, her power, and her decision to reclaim her peace.
Premise?? Whew. He had FOUR YEARS and thought he could still play around. The late dinner pickup, and his response at dinner—baby she sent him packing after one last goodbye lay.
Her plan? I won’t spoil it… but just know I was not ready. And I loved that I wasn’t.
The sex with her ex, Aben?? Whewww. That man was giving emotionally available, physically attentive, and full-circle fine.
And when Premise saw it all unfold without realizing it was her at first… and THEN threw up in the parking lot? Instant karma. Cinematic. A moment.
Final Thoughts: 5/5 stars for the mood, the message, and the pettiness executed with poetry. This was short but satisfying, and I need a whole Earth cinematic universe. Recommend to: Anyone who’s tired of waiting on a “what are we” text and ready to take their power back with a little finesse. Skip if: You think women should stay quiet and “move on peacefully.” This ain’t for you.

Oh, well! Okay, then!! Miss Earth said she was tired of Premise's bullsh** and booted his arse straight to the curb! Good for her! Earth knew what she wanted and finally realized that she had wasted five years of her life hoping and knowing she was never going to get it with Premise. Then, for him to see she had moved on the way she did?! Served his @$$ right for expecting Earth to continue to put up with his unfaithfulness and his inability to be committed to her. I'm glad he was finally honest with her about not being ready to settle down, but dude knew he wasted years of her life foolin' with his messy behind. I'm not one to put it all one person either. Let's be real, after the third or fourth year, we women know when men are bullsh*tting us. Deep down, I think Earth knew he wasn't the settling down type of dude. He had proven that over and over again. He couldn't even be faithful enough to keep dinner dates scheduled months in advance, and his excuses sounded lame as hell. I was glad that Earth decided she had enough. But did she have to give in and give him that last f- ...never mind! And what do we have here?! An old friend?! Aben, you say?! Hello!! I did not feel sorry for Premise—not one bit—when he got a full view of Earth moving on without him! Hmmmm... Bye Premise!😂😂
3.75/5 stars for me! This was a cute little novella. Not too deep but gripping enough to have you thinking about the character’s shenanigans when you put the book down. Obviously it’s short so it’s binge-able in one sitting which I enjoyed! Now, this is no Octavia Grant short story but it still is interesting nonetheless. I will be reading Book 2 but only through KU bc I don’t feel it necessary to own either of them physically (I have a physical copy of this one I’ll more than likely donate.) Again, gripping but not super memorable to the point I want to shelve it! If I had to guess, the second book will be good too (bc Grey can write!) but I’ll probably not want to own a physical copy of it either! Overall, it was decent ! I think toward the end the friend was trying to spit words of wisdom and it just wasn’t hitting as hard as I think the author intended.
The Sweetest Revenge is what happens when a woman finally chooses herself and the universe claps back for her. Earth waited, loved, hoped and owned her role in staying too long but when she was done, she was DONE. No dramatics, no begging, just a quiet, calculated shift that absolutely unraveled Premise at his core. Watching him realize too late that complacency costs! Whew. Sick to his stomach doesn’t even cover it.
Four years, a situationship masquerading as comfort and seven whole months to choose after five years together. The unintentional revenge was loud and it was lethal. Mic drop. Lesson learned. This story is proof that people never value what you give freely until they see someone else receiving it and by then, the door is already closed. Grey Huffington ate this up.

The Sweetest Revenge by Grey Huffington is sexy, savage, and completely addictive. This book delivers revenge with a smirk and heat with purpose. The chemistry is off-the-charts, the tension is deliciously cruel, and every interaction feels charged with intent. The characters don’t just flirt—they collide, and I loved every sharp, heated moment. Grey Huffington knows exactly how to balance spice with emotion, making the payoff feel earned and oh-so-satisfying. I devoured this in one sitting and immediately wished I could read it again for the first time. If you like your romance bold, unapologetic, and dripping with sweet revenge, this book absolutely delivers.
“The Sweetest Revenge” was a decent quick read. More so I appreciated the irony. It was necessary for Earth to move on with no regard just as men typically subject women too. Well Premise, karma is a “female 🐩dog” 🤣😂🤷🏾♀️…and her cousin “sick as a dog 🐕 “ ain’t much better. A five year friends with benefits is entirely too long to be uncommitted. The audacity, “he’s not ready”🤬‼️Premise (you) wasn’t ready for that reality vomit 🤮but …🤔 🤮dang there’s more (with an audience).
Grey... this book was amazing. Earth was my hero when she put her foot down with Premise. We often times settle for less because we are too afraid of being alone. She realized her worth and wasn’t going to keep waiting for him to grow up. Then Premise had the nerve to compare her to Miss Prude. I won’t spoil it but the morning after was my favorite part... he couldn’t even speak🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
