This is a pretty good resource for Spanish learners and is worth its weight in gold. Being that this is an ebook and weighs nothing explains its worth. The examples given had mistakes in them and some were printed twice making it feel really redundant.

It is important to remember that the Spanish is for use in Spain and does not correlate with Latin American Spanish well. It was confusing until I remembered this, albeit interesting.

I would recommend this for those already knee-deep in their journey to learn Spanish as there is required knowledge for understanding this resource fully. It would be a waste of time for a beginner.

For many years during my professional educator career, I have held certificates to teach children where English is their second language. Many of these children had Spanish as their first language so it helped me to learn to speak and read some Spanish. Learn Spanish - Word Power 101 is a book with an audio file that I have read and used as a review and refresher of my limited Spanish language skills.

It has six sections. They are animals, body part of head, body parts of the rest of the body, colors, food and numbers. Bright colorful pictures give a vivid example of the main word, then it is used in phrases and sentences. Many words are repeated throughout the text. Hearing the words helps learn the differences in word order between English and Spanish (at least it did for me).

Great reference book and tape.

Pretty good starting point for a complete beginner. Except for a few words and terms heard from a few films, I know nothing of Spanish. The book does the basic job of making a newbie understand well. It also clarifies certain confusing phrases like Mucho Gusto whose literal meaning of words is different while having a completely different meaning contextually.

Just OK. It's pretty basic vocabulary (animals, types of food, parts of the body) with pictures, which can be helpful just to stick it in your mind. But, there are places where the example sentences are repeated and some places where the translations are with the wrong sentences. And, the vocabulary is oriented towards Spain, so might not be so useful for those learning Latin American Spanish.

I want to learn Spanish although I am clueless about it, I want to start learning it. What is the best way to do it? I am passionate about Spanish and want to learn Spanish for use in communications in a fun & efficient way. I think "Learn Spanish - Word Power 101" would be the best choice

Learning Spanish is life changing! It's such a fun and expressive language, and trust me, it's much easier than you think. Start small by learning basic phrases, watching shows like La Casa de Papel, or listening to Spanish music (Bad Bunny, anyone?). Apps like Duolingo are great, but nothing beats talking to real people on platforms like https://livexp.com/skills/spanish Vamos, tú puedes!

Listened on Audiable while at work. Very basic, but sometimes good to just absorb the language anytime possible.

This is less useful than Duolingo.

I like this as a quick review, but disagree with marketing stating it's a good way to "learn" Spanish.

Recommended for Beginners ONLY

This is a good last-minute book to resort to if you forgot to study and you woke up on the day of your Spanish test remembering you were supposed to study. If that's not the scenario, then its a good book to study some basic vocabulary for beginners. If you know a lot of Spanish or at least know more than this book teaches you, its really not worth your time. I'm kind of advanced in Spanish and I understood every word in this book. Some of the words aren't even correct, to be honest. Definitely a beginner level book if you're trying to learn Spanish.

Basic phrases and vocabulary

Enough for a basic understanding, but not to hold a conversation. An introduction to Kindergarten level Spanish with minimal vocabulary.

Basic (very basic) intro

Numbers, body parts, colors, the basic overview. They did have more extended colors like indigo and silver and a good amount of veggies\fruits

An easy to follow guide to learning beginning basics of Spanish. Certain words repeated in Spanish might be difficult to understand clearly, but in general it was a very good basic refresher of the language. Smooth voices, and steady, but not too swift, flow of lessons.

Note: Certain things applied more to Spain Spanish than Latin American Spanish.
