“He’d lost his ever-lovin’ mind if he thought Carson would ever play nice. He didn’t understand the bitterness in a divorce and co-parenting, but if he wanted to speak with Carson, perhaps he needed a crash course on ex-husband nastiness, and I believe Carson took the class ten times.”

My Review:
I love/hate Abbie St. Claire right now. I am totally addicted to this series and my girl has left me high and dry with a wicked cliffhanger. ARRGG! Complicated on 5th Avenue is full of humor, blended family drama, and delicious steam. Then bugger, a series of tragedies hit that devastated the main characters and me as an addicted reader. Ms. St. Claire has me intrigued, captivated, caught in her web, and hopelessly addled by her story. I am beyond concerned and ready to howl as I don’t see mention of when the next in the series is to appear – and I must have the closure – inquiring minds what to know! Ms. St. Claire is a sneaky temptress and tease – but I am a die-hard fan-girl and have the utmost faith (typing while on my knees begging) that she will pull out all the stops with Book 3.
I was given the honor to beta and review this book.
I loved the first book but OMGOSH this one had me all over the place. It was so awesome!!!! I can't tell you how much it delights me when an author can pull so many emotions out of me. We pick up were Ian and Chelsie left off. Things were not going well at the end of Conflicted On 5th Avenue. Abbie definitely sets you on an emotional rollercoaster with is one. I would highly recommend this to my family and friends. I will warn you that it does leave in a bit of a cliffhanger. I really want to throat punch Ian right now. Oh and did I mention? I need the next book like now!!!! I can't wait to find out what is in store for Ian and Chelsie. Abbie is sure to make it good I know! Thank you Abbie for a great read and ride. Loved this book.
I actually received an ARC of this title before it was released from the author. I had loved book 1 so much and I could not wait for the story to continue. I dove right in, and got about half through the book when an event made me just stop. It bothered me so much, I could not believe the character was behaving that way that I could not deal. I contacted the author and told her - now before you think I was being a prima donna, Abbie and I discussed it and she understood. She assured me all my worries would be dealt with in book 3, but there would be a definate cliffhanger ending and she knew I despise cliffhangers - so I told her I would wait to finish.
Book 3 - Captivated on 5th comes out next week so last night I sat down to finish, knowing I would not have a painful wait when I was done.
Chelsie loves Ian with her whole being, and this book is a testament to it. I was astounded by Chelsie's strength and I adored her friends. Her "plan" to make things right did have some issues in my head, but in the end it worked. Ian needs to seriously have some great moments to get him out of my book hero dog house.
I love this couple, I am vested - maybe a little to much. It is a wonderful story that you can just read and relax with, and hopefully have someone near by as it is a little steamy too.
This book must be read with the others for full enjoyment
This just keeps getting better. After the first book, you're automatically drawn into the story on where things will lead with these two characters. Ian and Chelsie have already been through some major ordeals but in this book there is so much more to come. You go through so many different emotions with this one, I wanted to help Chelsie but to smack Ian for what he's done. The only downside is having to wait for the next book for the conclusion to the story. Well done Abbie St Claire, bring on book 3!!!!
I received this arc in exchange for an honest review.
I received this for an honest review.. First off I have to say WOW!! There is a whole lot in this book I just did not see coming and I have say Abbie I think you are trying to kill me book by book..
Just like the first one I was absolutely pulled right into this story and LOVED every minute of it. This is the second book in this series and NOT A STANDALONE!!
I can not wait for the next book and I have to say Im gonna have to have it very soon!! ITS KILLING ME!!!
This is the 2nd book in this series and it does end in quite a cliffhanger! Can't say much as I don't want to spoil it for anyone but OMG!!! Romance, mystery, heartbreak, fury, birth, acceptance, denial, deceit.... Way too much going on to even begin to explain. This one you have to read for yourself but make sure you read the 1st book before you read this one. I promise you won't be sorry you did!
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
OMG, what a cliffhanger, love/hate this book, lol. Ian is so frustrating, and Chelsea, is struggling for them both, after Ian's accident, it wasn't enough dealing with Oliver's negative attitude toward Chelsea, now this. Wow, great read, cannot wait for next book.
Wow I don’t know how many times I have written this review and ended up deleting it because I know I was being unfair. I was not being unfair to the author but to Ian because I was so disappointed in him and his cowardice. I wanted to call him out and tell him he was being unfair because he was making a decision that didn’t correspond to him. It was Chelsie’s choice whether she wanted to be with him and love him know matter what. I understand that he felt like he was not a whole person but that didn’t justify his actions and how he made her feel. Okay enough of this rant because I’m going to get mad again and yup no.
In this story I saw Chelsie get stronger and stronger but also saw her take a lot of hits. When this story started loved that there was a small snippet of how it ended in the last book. I really thought that Chelsie and Ian were going to be able to overcome everything even though it seemed that Oliver was still being distant and at times acting out towards her. I knew sooner or later he would accept her but that’s when the twists and turns started happening. Ian at times forgot that Ty still had his father and it was not as easy to make plans without checking with the other parent. But no matter what they were able to go on their trip but that’s when everything went down the drain.
Chelsie couldn’t believe what was happening she knew that he was lying through his teeth but in the end he made his decision and there was nothing she could do. She and Ty were devastated but of course she had a plan especially knowing that Ian was still asking for her. I know that her plan was a little juvenile but his behavior was so much worse. He hurt her with his words but in the end he was the one looking in. Her plan was brilliant because in the end he saw that she could move on and oh I knew that he was later going to regret his words.
Now as for Chelsie, Ian was not the only heartache she had something was not right at her boutique. Something was happening and she was going to get to the bottom of everything.
Complicated on 5th Avenue was an amazing read that had me crying like a baby and of course lose hours of sleep but it was worth every minute. Then the end happened and I was disappointed because I didn’t want for it to end and have to wait to see what happened with Ian and Chelsie. Yes, even though he was acting like a big asshat I still wanted for them to work out their problems and be this big happy family. Finally Oliver had hugged Chelsie without her pressuring him I know that it was in a difficult time but still they hugged. This story overall was very moving, sad and beautiful at the same time. They were both getting a second chance at love they both had been through so much but in the end they still need to work on so many things before that can happen. They are going to have to help each other to heal after what happened in this book in order for them to survive. There is so much more to come that will bring so much love into their lives but Ian is going to have to overcome his cowardice because as he put it she deserved a whole man oh buddy how wrong you are.
Ms. St. Claire did such a wonderful job in writing this story. Her creativity is brilliant as her writing skills. This story is so moving and emotional. The scenes are so vivid and full of emotion that I couldn’t help but get lost in them.
I totally recommend this read but beware if you haven’t read Conflicted you will be very lost.
I had to wait a few days in order to write up this review due to my feelings on the male anti protagonist but more about that in a moment. Most of the time after I finish reading any book I usually write up the review immediately and am very prompt about it but with this book by Ms. Abbie St. Claire I couldn’t do that. I am not saying that this book isn’t good with no flow, intricacy or complexity to the story and the characters aren’t fully developed which is far from the truth. Ms. St. Claire really does know how to tell a story and keep you involved with it. The plot twists are fascinating even the minor characters are pretty complex as well. I could barely put the book down due to the elaborateness of the story alone plus I wouldn’t read this book as a standalone so you need to read the first book in 5th avenue romance series conflicted just to understand the storyline and the characters better. Chelsie Peterson and Dr. Ian Briggs have decided to take their relationship to the next level of being boyfriend and girlfriend but it is not smooth sailing for them. Attempting to convince their kids that they are in a relationship is difficult and it is a roller coaster from being in love to questioning each other from one moment to the next. All of a sudden a tragic accident makes Chelsie and Ian question their relationship and love for each other taking their security in each other away. Let me go back to what I said at the beginning that I had to wait a few days in order to type this review because I didn’t want to rate it poorly due to the male anti hero Ian or my feelings on his behavior this book doesn’t deserve a one or two stars nor will I be giving it that. What can I say about Ian except I am very mad and quite upset in the change in him I wanted Ian to man up and admit how he feels for Chelsie instead of being a coward. I at first couldn’t help but fall for him a little in the first book conflicted, this book I couldn’t really stand him and really think he didn’t deserve Chelsie. I was actually cheering for Jason at this point even though he wasn’t in the book enough I had a feeling that Jason wouldn’t hurt her. I think what bothered me the most about Ian is because I know people like this and have witnessed real life men doing this. Now I can read anything without it bothering me but Ian just seemed too real and the way he treats Chelsie is wrong. In the books I read I want good things to happen and a happily ever after this book doesn’t grant that. Chelsie on the other hand was wonderful she muddles through Ian’s bad behavior and horrible treatment persevering with whatever awful things are thrown her way which I really had to commend her for this. Even though I didn’t like Ian Ms. St. Claire really knows how to not only inspire emotional turmoil in me and make me feel for the characters but nevertheless writes a wonderful book. My rating of 3.5 stars upgraded to four stars since goodreads doesn’t have ½ ratings is from the story and the captivating strong heroine. I can still recommend this book but be forewarned to start at the beginning of the series keep a very open mind and will definitely get more books from Ms. St. Claire especially the last book in this series just to see if there is a happily ever after in the end.
How Does Life Become So Complicated Love, Crisis, And Tragedy Come Join This Roller-coaster Ride Of Emotion In The Continuing Story of Ian and Chelsie
STORY LINE: Author Abbie St. Claire continues the story of Ian and Chelsie in book 2. This is not a standalone book, you must read book 1 to fully enjoy Complicated on 5th Avenue.
What a story! Ian and Chelsie are trying to commit to their love, share their lives, and knit two children together in acceptance of their commitment. Oliver is standing off from Chelsie, Ian is feeling insecure of his place in Chelsie's life, and Chelsie still has insecurities involving relationships and her place in Ian's affections. Through it all, they are firmly together as a couple. Tragedy strikes; Ian and Chelsie will face a life altering situation. How will they handle the adversity in their life? How did life become so complicated?
Come and join Ian and Chelsie in book 2 as their story continues in Complicated on 5th Avenue.
CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, AND DEVELOPMENT: Ms. St. Claire does a splendid job of crafting the characters in this story. Her development of the story-line was skillfully done. She created a story that was intriguing and emotional. I couldn't put this book down. I ran the gauntlet of emotions from happiness to sadness. Had these two people not been through enough? At times I wanted to shake Ian, in turn, I wanted to yell at Chelsie and then I wanted to cry for both as they are stricken by tragedy and the aftermath.
The sexual attraction and love scenes in this book are steamy, hot, and will curl your hair. The steam and heat between Ian and Chelsie rolls off the pages.
The plot in this book is a roller-coaster ride, it has twist and turns, including an added mystery, that will keep you reading to the last page; I found this added element a great addition to the story-line. Ms. St. Claire skillfully wove a fascinating tale and left us with a humdinger of a cliff hanger ending. I can't wait to read book 3.
The pacing of story was great, the book never lags or bogs down as Ms. St. Claire weaves this tale through twist and turns to create a wonderful continuation of the story in Conflicted On 5th Avenue. She leaves you panting for the rest of the story.
RECOMMENDATION: This book contains explicit sex and sexual language. I recommend this book for young adult and adult due to sexual content. Grab a cool glass of your favorite beverage, sit back, and enjoy Ian and Chelsie's continuing story.
This book will appeal to anyone that likes a solid crafted story that leaves them wanting more. I look forward to following Chelsie and Ian in book three.
I received this book from the author in return for an honest book review.
Books reviews of any novel are dependent on the book review author's opinion; all book reviews on line under my name and on my blog are my opinion.
This is the second installment of Ian and Chelsie's story.
Trying to make a relationship work when the son of the man you love is completely against it is hard but when something is worth fighting for that what you do fight. Ian convinces Chelsie that if they go slow and give Oliver some time he'll grow to like them being together. Chelsie worries that it may not happen when at every turn Oliver makes his dislike known. Ian makes a decision that they all go away together on a ski trip and maybe a change in scenery will make things easier. Things do not go smooth for them on this trip Chelsie gets food poisoning on the first night and Oliver continues to be difficult.
Ian likes to be in control in everything and this is no different. He tries to push Chelsie is the direction he feels they should be going and she allows this up to a point because she loves him. However she isn't going to let Ian treat her in the same controlling manner her ex did. Ian has a bad accident while skiing mostly because Oliver doesn't listen and goes to a trail that is too advanced for him. Ian is rushed to the hospital and immediately taken to surgery. Chelsie doesn't know what to do so she calls his parents whom she hasn't even met and tells them the news having no idea how the situation could get any worse until they arrive. She can see where Ian gets his control issues from just by watching his parents try to take over. One good thing comes from this bad situation though Oliver finally accepts Chelsie and Ty into the life his has with he father however it may be too late. When Ian wakes he agrees to go back home with his parents against everything Chelsie says. Chelsie knows that once he is gone they would be over too.
Not wanting to believe that Ian would do this to her Chelsie tries to get in contact with him and when she forces his hands to get him to talk to her he ends things. When he ex takes their son on a trip Chelsie finally realizes how bad she's let things go and tries to move on however her friends telling her that Ian keeps checking in about her doesn't help. Mixed signals sends her to do something drastic to get Ian's attention however the ends result is both good and bad. Ian comes back and things more complicated as he leaves after sleeping with Chelsie only this time it may be the last time Chelsie lets him back into her life. I had to keep myself from tossing my kindle while reading this one I really came to hate Ian and was wishing for Chelsie to find someone that would stick and not run at the first sign of trouble. I guess we'll see if things get better in the next book but right now I can't stand Ian and hope that Chelsie doesn't take him back and if she does she makes him grovel on his knees for awhile as punishment. Outside Ian being an idiot I really enjoyed this book however a warning this book will put you through the wringer emotionally so be prepared.
Consuming passion and complications of profound Love are marvelously depicted in "Complicated on 5th Avenue" by Abbie St. Claire. The main characters become more defined yet ... complicated. Chelsie, the heroine, is still trying to shake off the insecurities instilled upon her by her ex-husband however she definitely is beginning to grow a serious backbone. However the hero, Ian, is showing more of his controlling side, be it due to exuberance, possessiveness, or purely as a show of domination, intentionally or unconsciously. There are many drastic times in this installment of the 5th Avenue series that have both Ian and Chelsie taking desperate measures. More secondary characters are introduced and play important roles in the movement of the plot. One of the characters is a charming love interest for Chelsie after a terrible accident removes Ian from her life. Emotions and stress levels are high and the stakes are even higher. Chelsie's ex comes back into the picture, still playing his mind games and upping the ante. The children's emotions also are catalysts for events and are the are also turning points. "Complicated on 5th Avenue" is a entangled knot of problems, stress, threats, and emotions. Abbie St. Claire has her characters embarking on a sinking ship of woe and tragedy. Bodies broken, Friendships ended, Nerves frayed, and Lovers wrenched apart. Many other reviewers have said that they hate the Hero Ian, but for whatever reason I can understand his point of view. He is now broken, without purpose and without the power and control of a body that was able make his lover's body come apart due to his ability to move in ways that would bring her the most pleasure. He was the one who protected her and cared for her and now he can't be that man. He Sucks for sure in the way he's gone about it but his intentions are misguided yet honorable. Abbie has grown incredibly stronger from the first book despite her emotional breakdowns she stands up to her ex-husband, to Ian's father, and to Ian himself. The 5th Avenue series is definitely compelling. To read the entire review please visit: http://bit.ly/23pnfmT

Chelsie Petersen and Ian Briggs finally seem to be figuring out how to make their relationship work when only the adults are around. Things get more complicated when the boys are concerned though. Blending two families is not easy even when there is only one child. It is nice to see that play out here and see all the trials that a blended family goes through. However, Ian is seriously injured in a skiing accident and decides to go home to California with his parents whom he doesn’t seem close to and has barely spoken to in years. In fact, his son doesn’t even know them. So he leaves Chelsie behind and never answers her calls. So Chelsie decides to rely on Ian’s overbearing possessive nature to try and lure him back to her because she can’t move on. I don’t know if it is just me but Ian’s possessiveness sparks alarm bells in my head. I am not sure I like him or want them together. In fact, the man she uses to make Ian jealous I like far more. We shall see though as this book has another cliff hanger ending. The jury is still out. I absolutely have to read the next book because I need to know how things work out and if Ian is worth it or not. The story has generated considerable suspense for me now as I have no idea how things will work out or if they should. I do recommend the series.
I want to start by saying I was NOT happy with Ian at the end of the second book. I was angry with him. Almost to the point that I hated him. Nothing he did made sense. Why did he do the things he did? Why did Chelsie still hang on? Why couldn't she just move on and forget that jerk? Then I kept reading. I was still not entirely sold on Team Ian but I began to understand more. I really felt for Chelsie. I just wanted the poor girl to be happy. She deserved it. But holy smokes do they take you on a ride! Both of them are so stubborn! I wanted to throttle them several times. I fell in love with this story in the first book. And Captivated gave me the ending that I needed for Chelsie and Ian. So much heartache and misery for two people to go through, it makes it even harder to watch when you know they love each other so much. The rest of the gang is back too and I can't cant wait to see what Ms St. Claire does for them. There are two in particular that I need to know the details on! If you are looking for a trilogy that will break your heart, make you want to throw things, make you hate the characters then fall in love with them even more, then you need this series. It's perfect.
The second book of Ian and Chelsie was absolutely captivating. I was given a copy for my honest review and if I could give more than 5 stars in would.
Without giving too much away, Ian and Chelsie work on strengthening thier relationship. Chelsie is worried about how this relationship will effect the boys. Ty is a great little boy and seems to be on board, but Oliver has issues with sharing his Dad's attention. Ian wants Chelsie to fight for them, pushes her to fight harder. Take want she wants.
Just as she claims their love, life hits them hard. Ian now walks away. How do you move on when life knocks you down not once but so many times you don't have the will to try again. But Chelsie does.
The strength of the characters is amazing so dynamic.
I love this series, very relatable and Abbie so captures the roller coaster that being a single parent goes through and loving and loosing but having to move on, be strong for your children. This is a totally must read. Can't wait for the finale.
This is book two in the Fifth Avenue Series. In This book we pick up where we left off with Chelsie and Ian. Ian's son Oliver isn't taking their relationship very well, and the couple don't seem to catch a break. Just when I thought it was finally going to be smooth sailing for the couple an awful accident happens and everything goes to pot! I went from loving Doctor Ian to quite frankly hating him! I'm hoping this changes in the next book! Poor Chelsie needs something to go right for her and soon!
I loved the first book in this series, but this one blew me away! I was on the edge of my seat right the way to the end, and then BAM a cliffhanger! There's just so many shocks and happenings in Complicated On 5th Avenue it was hard to put the book down even for a second! I need the next book right now!
Wow!! What a cilffhanger!! No way!! I received an ARC in return for an honest review. This is the second installment of Ian and Chelsie. The relationship between them got complicated because of Oliver who is not accepting Chelsie in their lives. Ty, on the other hand was happy for them. Until one day, tragedy strikes and their relationship is tested. Will their love beat the odds? To top it off, Carson is trying to sabotage Chelsie's dream bistro by keeping tabs on her through the video cameras which he had them secretly installed. Plus just finding out some news that would impact her life. As the saying goes, it doesn't rain it pours. This story led me on an emotional ride with such intensity that it was hard to put down.. I can't wait to read the next installment. Abbie St. Claire, you've done it again. Brilliant story and writing that keeps us wanting more.
OMG!!! This book just left me speecheless and in an emotional roller coaster! Abbie was able to write emotions so raw that tears were pouring when I reached about 40% of the book until the end. It's been a long time since a book caught my attention the way this one did, almost unable to put my Kindle down. In this book, Chelsie and Ian are determined to explore their relationship and expose their kids to the possibility of blending their family. Like with real life, everything is easier said than done and they have to face multiple obstacles along the way. When waht was supposed to be a family vacation has a tragic outcome, their love and power of will are put to the test. Wil they be able to get through it without getting broken in the way? Can't wait to find out if they can repair what's broken or if everything will be lost forever.
This is the 2nd book in the 5th Avenue Romance Series and Complicated is an understatement! Ian and Chelsie are trying to move their relationship to the next level but misunderstandings and Ian's son Oliver being uncooperative are making moving forward nonexistent but they do proclaim their love to each other. Ian plans a ski trip so they can all be together, but while there an accident happens and things go from bad to worse. You may need your tissues for this part. Could this be the end of their relationship? Will they both give up on each other? Chelsie has a plan but will it blow up in her face? You need to read this book to find out! This book ends in one hell of a cliffhanger! Amazing Series can't wait for next book. I was given an ARC of this book for my honest review
After reading the first book in this series, I could not wait to dive into the second book. Oh Abbie, what are you doing to us!?! Ian has turned away from Cheslie after his accident and ended their relationship. Oh what Abbie done to Chesile and her fans. Life has its ups and downs. After turning the last page of Complicated, we are reminded that life is truly complicated. Will we be happy when we finish book three? I think we will and can't wait until it comes out - that are a lot of us who ca hardly wait to see if Ian comes to his senses before it' stop late.We have to hold on to that thought just as we do in our own lives. Bravo Abbie St. Claire for another wonderful story.
Received this book from the Author for an honest review. This is the second book in the 5th Avenue series. This book is about Ian and Chelsie trying to combine two families in to one Just as every thing is going right for them Ian has a skiing accident and things go down hill from there can they get back together or will every thing be to much for them. Also Chelsie finds out she is pregnant with Ian's baby. You are going to have to read this book to find out how that happened if they are no longer see each other.this book is going to take you on one very emotional ride You do not want to miss this one It finishes on a cliff hanger.
Book 2 of the "5th Ave" Series. I bought this book last year, but reread it this past weekend to get ready for book 3 "Captivated" soon to be released. I love Abbie St Claire's books!! Her characters are compelling, relatable, and flawed enough to be interesting, but not damaged beyond redemption. You understand the struggles Ian and Chelsie go through in the attempt to blend their families, his behavior after the accident, and her reactions to that. The storyline is fast paced, well developed, and intriguing. This book is a page turner. My only complaint,,,, I need Book 3, NOW. Well done, Abbie
FYI this is a series that should be read in order. Honestly, I felt a little slighted when I finished book one thinking everything was just tied up in a bow with questions unanswered but I didn't know book 2 was going to continue with Chelsie's story! (Note to self rewrite book one review!) With that being said this book sure was complicated (pun intended!) Ian is just this big ball of moody male confusion! And at times I thought "just break up with him!" Chelsie is trying to be strong but seems a little immature about how she handles problems. With everything happening in the story, it's all COMPLICATED! Hopefully, with book 3 questions are unanswered and we get closure.
Wow, Complicated on 5th Avenue is the 2. book in the 5th Avenue Romance Series by Abbie St. Claire. Chelsie and Ian are on the verge of their HEA when a tragic accident takes everything away. Ian vanished . But Chelsie is unable to move forward and holds on the love of her past. I really really love the story and the characters - but i want to hug Chelsie and jolt Ian. Book 2 is much more intense than the first one and i needed LOTS of tissues. I can´t wait to find out what´s in store for Chelsie and Ian. And who is Jason ? 5 Complicated Stars. Thank you Abbie St. Claire.
Abbie St Claire does it again and left us hanging. In book two we see Ian and Chelsie struggle to make a blended family work while working on their still bidding relationship. When tragedy strikes we see them struggle to hold on to the worlds they know. This had an awesome combination of real world issues that you can relate too, as well as some larger issues you hope to never have too. I would recommend this book to my friends with the warning of the cliffhanger at the end. I eagerly await book three so I can decide if I love or hate Ian again.
OMG. at you think it's going to continue in the snuggly vain things were in just before the end of 'Conflicted' Just like the first one, you're sucked in... This one starts out smooth, with little ripples, then wham!! You're completely the other way around and not knowing which way is up. I could cry with one character, rage at another and laugh with joy at other moments all while thinking 'what happens next?'
I really, really hope things work out the them the way they are meant to...
