Hiebert Commentary

First Peter: An Expositional Commentary

Rate this book
Dr. Hiebert reaches both scholar and layperson with this accurate but understandable application of Greek and the addition of a detailed bibliography of further study. Summing up this letter, he observes, First Peter is preeminently an epistle of triumphant faith and suffering.

Outstanding commentary! I have several volumes of Hiebert's work and he never disappoints. Always thorough, discusses all aspects of the text, and gives more information than one could use. A very valuable resource.

Along with completing his book, I completed a series through 1 Peter on Wednesday nights, began on July 7, 2021, covered 63 messages. So much to think about in every passage of Scripture, I am sure there is more to say on 1 Peter, but perhaps not by me. On to 2 Peter.

Another fantastic commentary by D. Edmond Hiebert. His comments are always thorough, careful, meticulous, and solid. He digs deep without becoming verbose. 1 Peter, like Hiebert's other commentaries, is a boon for the busy pastor who wants to dig deeply into the text of Scripture so that he can wrestle with its implications for his own life and then prepare to feed the flock committed to his care.
