She’s my princess, and I will do anything to keep her safe – whatever secrets she’s keeping
Xendar Marrying the imperial princess wasn’t my idea, but it will stop a war between our nations. I didn’t expect to actually like her, though. She’s not what I expected, almost as though she isn’t a princess at all.
Instead of being vain and self-obsessed, she’s shy, frightened, vulnerable… and amazing. Her passion, her inner strength, everything about her calls to me, makes me want to claim her as my mate. Together we could stand against anything. If only she would look at me the same way.
Hope Being abducted by aliens was bad enough, and now I’m supposed to marry one? He’s an alien prince, proud and arrogant, and worst of all he thinks I’m some kind of space princess!
All I have to do is keep up the disguise until I can get away and back to Earth. But the longer I’m with Xendar, the less I want to escape. It’s hard to think about leaving when I’m wrapped in his arms, held against his incredible body.
He’s not the only problem, though. Someone doesn’t want the prince and princess to have their happy ever after, and they don’t mind killing us both to stop it. If Xendar can’t keep us both safe, my secret won’t matter to anyone!
Hope is kidnapped from Earth to impersonate an Imperial Princess of the human empire, Immorata. The stated intention is to deceive the bridegroom until the wedding, when hopefully Immorata will found and be there to be the actual bride.
Xendar is a prince of a warrior race (tail, spines that slice enemies, sharp teeth/fangs, very tall) and is sent to marry an Imperial Princess to create a peace between the two empires. He's not exactly happy about this marriage but is going to do his best because he wants peace.
Hope is an incredible woman who adapts to her circumstances pretty well. She is attracted to Prince Xendar (to her surprise) and gradually comes to love him during their time together. Xendar is attracted to her and is surprised that she doesn't act like an Imperial Princess. He falls in love with her, thinking she is the Imperial Princess.
The reason Hope is impersonating the Imperial Princess is the main plot and it is fast paced! I won't talk about that since it is such a good read.
I think this was an excellent addition to the aliens who look like aliens romance genre. I look forward to more books from this author.
Since I’ve been in a sci-fi/alien mood the past few years I’m surpised it took so long for me to find this book and I’m so glad I finally did. Bonus, it came out last year so there are a few more of the series I won’t have to wait for ;)
This book reminded me of one of my fav. group of heroes from author Ruby Dixon. Our hero is a blue alien who sports a tail, is built like statue and is really a huge softe for his mate. I really enjoyed the storyline and considering at first our heroine is essentially kidnapped and then forced to impersonate a royal princess she really handled it well as did our hero. One forced plot point is often a cause is dissension between the couple that ultimately causes them to breakup fight etc. our hero neve once thought of letting his woman go nor did he blame her for something completely out of her control. For a scary, intimidating and scale having hero it was nice to see his first appearance did not reflect his character at all, I imagine any sane person would be at least shocked by his appearance, I think Zender was a softie under all the scales!
This was a great read and had a very pleasing epilogue. Looking forward to more from this author and for my sci fi romance junkies I would highly recommend this one.
Apparently I had already read the second book in this series, and while it was okay, I never intended to read more of it. Color me surprised when I started this one and realized it was book one. Goes to show how much attention I actually pay to things. But in this case, it worked out. This book was much better than the second one and I actually enjoyed it.
Both Xendar and Hope were believable and solid characters and, as different as they were, they actually worked well as a couple. I was impatiently waiting for Hope to tell Xendar the truth and when it finally came I was pretty happy with how he took it.
Hope is just a normal human female...who happens to look exactly like a super important princess from another galaxy. She ends up getting abducted one night by a group of greys and sold to a haughty human. Only to be told that she needs to impersonate a missing princess who is supposed to marry an alien prince. One who just so happens to already be there. Given no choice, Hope is given an inadequate crash course on Empire politics and practically shoved out the door.
Xendar is the second prince of his people. He is not happy about this political marriage, but he will do it if it means peace between the two empires. What he sees when he arrives to pick up his princess does not give him much hope for his future happiness. But then Hope walks in and his breath is stolen. And his instincts already tell him something is off with his princess.
At first, Hope was terrified of Xendar. Dude is huge with spikes and a tail after all. It doesn't take long for her to find herself feeling more safe with him than she ever has before...and more attracted to him than she thought possible. Xendar makes it easy for her to fall for him. He does everything in his power to make sure that she is safe, protected, and happy. Which is such a contradiction to his harsh warrior personality. Which we get to see first hand a couple times when he has to slaughter their enemies. He goes above and beyond anything Hope ever could have asked for to make sure she survives, which only fuels her self hating for having been lying to him. When they're cornered after an attack, she finally has no choice.
This whole time Xendar has thought that the actions of his princess were a little off sometimes, but he just figured it was all do to her spoiled upbringing. When Hope tells him she's not really the princess he is filled with anger. But it quickly dissipates when he finds he can't just abandon Hope anymore. He's already fallen for her. So even when she knocks him out (in order to save him) he's hell bent on doing whatever it takes to save her. No matter how crazy or stupid.
I was pretty satisfied with the ending. From how Xendar saves Hope, to how the real princess deals with everything. The only thing was that the epilogue was unnecessary and way too corny.
Hope stared at the beautiful sunset while she thought about stupid Greg and the mistake she had almost made with him. It was getting chilly and she had left her jacket in the car, so she stood up to leave. Against the dark sky and the trees, she saw a large light moving toward her and chuckled because it looked sort of saucer-shaped! She took a picture of it so she would have something to talk about with her friends. But something moved in the woods and began to chase her. Turning her phone’s flashlight to it, she saw a grey creature that shrieked from the light and ran to her car. More creatures were in front of her, one jumping on her hood as it pointed something at her. She woke, still inside her car but now in a room with the alien creatures around her.
Hope got out of her car and, when she thought they were going to shoot her again, she threw her phone at the leader. They all tackled her and the angry leader pulled out a knife! A loud voice shouted and she saw a human-looking man. They injected her with something and she could now understand them. But it still wasn’t looking good for her!
Prince Xendar was an Acheran warrior, one of the greatest warrior groups in the galaxy. But war would have cost millions of lives, so peace was the option they were looking for now. His father had sent him to marry the Imperial Princess Immorata, whom he thought of as a “vain brat” and a dainty, delicate, spoiled human. She would not find his assault ship comfortable or suitable, he was sure.
Hope was taken aboard a huge ship that had statues and paintings all over it – of her??? But Rofain started to explain that she was to pretend to be Princess Immorata who was to marry a barbarian. Hope would not have to do that, but she had to pretend until they found the real Princess who had run away with a lover. As she joined Prince Xendar on his ship for the return to his planet, she tried to avoid him as much as she could. As they transitioned from hyperspace so he could show her the planet near them, an explosion blew out the end of the ship and they both hurtled into the planet’s atmosphere – way too fast to safely hit the ground!
This book was a complete shock to me as I was expecting a completely different kind of story. The story line was amazing about a human having to impersonate a Princess – that part of the story was hilarious and fun! Then the space travel started another part of the adventure! It was tense and fast-paced and I loved every second of it!! It felt like I was right there with them because the author did such a wonderful job of painting this new world for me! Seriously, this was a wonderful book that delighted and intrigued me! You will definitely not want to miss this one!

Loved this book, the fast moving story pulled me into the book from the very beginning. I couldn't put it down! There is a kidnapping, adventure, danger, an AI, a space ship explodes, and then there's a sexy rugged alien warrior with scales, fangs, ripped abs, and a tail! Lots of 🌎world building adds to the alien and technical feel of the book. Highly recommend for lovers of Adult XXX Alpha Alien Male Romance!
ARC Received for a Voluntary and Honest Review. I also got the book with KU.
This is the story of Hope and Xendar. She has been kidnapped by aliens and they are making out to another race that she is their princess. What is more she is going to be married to Xendar who is a prince to help keep the peace between the two races. Yes, there are attracted to one another instantly but there is no "wham, bam, thank you ma'am" in it thank goodness! Instead they get to know one another at a believable pace, and things happen at a natural rate. Very convenient that they could all understand each other and there was not really much Science in the sci-fi novel. Leslie Chase has a nice flowing writing style that I enjoy and I did like both Hope and Xendar. There were some aspects of the story that made me laugh which was an added bonus for me. This was a great read and I look forward to reading more of Leslie's sci-fi stories. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I would have given Five 🌟 rating if it had been not in first person - I'm not a fan of the "I" when switching chapters from each main character, such as in this book regarding Hope to Xander. Few authors can pull this off in my opinion and I usually I don't get through the first chapters without loosing interest. I did finish the book without wanting to walk away so that is another reason for four stars, after all, what isn't to like? super hot alpha alien 👽 Prince who is compassionate meets human who was stolen because she is the doppelganger to a space empire princess - great plot with villains and a HEA ending! I think I'll read another by this author - and again, I'm not into first person reads so that another positive for this author - she has got me interested! Read this book it, it won't disappoint!
An odd start but when the action starts, it's full blown. This was actually a fun read. Hope had to play a part and Xendar was being duped. Although the abduction part of the story was good, the rest of the story way tons better! Hope was a pawn in a bigger drama, but was backed into a corner. Xendar was a decent hero, you could feel him grow as the story progressed. The fight scenes were well written and the love scenes don't happen right away, but they are hot too. The intrigue was thick and I loved how the story kept growing bigger and bigger, especially after a major plot twist. I wondered about how Yennifer just kind of fell out of the story, when I thought she was pivotal, and the end was incomplete without a mention of what happens to the Princess too. Aside from that, I am still giving 5 stars because the story is just that good!
I’m new to this author and what I’ve read so far is great so I will be keeping my eyes out for more from this author. Hope was abducted by aliens and she has to pretend to be their princess, she is supposed to marry another alien to stop a war between their nations. Xendar is to marry a princess but he didn’t expect to like her, he thought that she would be pretentious a snob but she was the total opposite. What a great read I loved the characters and it’s a well written storyline, I even had a good laugh and that doesn’t happen too often with books. There’s also the sexy scenes so there’s plenty in this book to keep you reading right up to the end. I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves sexy aliens.
I can't remember the last time I liked a couple as much as Hope and Xendar! Hope was a bit naive at times, other times she was not the sharpest tool in the shed (I had guessed the intrigue long before she figured it out). But, aren't we all like that at times? Her faults made her more human, and her good character traits just made her admirable. Xendar was intelligent and honorable.
The plot was good, but there were a few times where I asked my self "why would he/she do...?" or "It would make a lot more sense if he/she did..." And, as I suggested above, it was also a bit predictable at times. But, even with these minor flaws, it was an enjoyable story. I would definitely read more from this author.
Wow what a great book this is my first from this author Leslie Chase and I can say I will definitely be reading what I can my hands on. The story kept me captivated the whole way through, Hope and Xendars story gives you hope that just because it Isn’t what you want at first it turns out to be better than expected and the hot chemistry between them doesn’t hurt either. Hope was kidnaped from earth because she looks like the real princess that run away and is supposed to marry and alien prince to stop a war from happening between there to races. Can Hope pull it off and can they both prevent a war read this great book the get your answers, you will love it. Looking forward to read more from this author. Hope is kidnapped and forced to impersonate a princess or face death. She takes on the challenge but really hates to deceive such a great person.
I really liked Xendar. He is not the spoiled prince you typically see that is used to women falling at his feet. He has respect for women. He is not thrilled to have an arranged marriage at first. As they spend time together, they both feel a connection.
There are some twists to the story that you don't expect. Hope and Xendar make a great couple and I enjoyed spending time with them. While they have a short period of time together, the author does develop the relationship.
This was an amazing read. The story and the characters are extremely well developed. I loved Xendar and Hope/Immorata together. They have such strong chemistry that you can just feel the heat. Xendar is such a strong, kind, protective all out alpha male. He is described as such a hot male species of a man that you wish you had your own. Hope for everything she goes through is strong and caring. She doesn’t let anything get her down. This has so much action, drama, suspense and of course hot romance that you just can’t put it down until you reach the end. I absolutely adore how it end and it didn’t disappoint me. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of this book.
he didnt want to marry the princess but he knew he would have to. she was abducted to marry a prince but she didnt want to. he expected her to be stuck up and vain so he is shocked to see how scared and nervous she really was. could things be difficult for her as it will be for him? can they come to an agreement to do the best they can. will love find them in the end? read to see how they can cope with this new situation

This was a new author for me and while Sci-Fi Romance isn't my main love I will say that I enjoyed this. It was funny to the point that I was laughing out loud and had people giving me strange looks. I am so thrilled that I took a chance on this author because I can tell you I will certainly be reading more of her work. There was more than enough action to keep me interested and I love that the story didn't feel rushed. Many times the story is rushed through and I am left wondering what happened.

So, Xander is a 9 ft tall alien covered in spines with a tail and pointed teeth. Despite all this, his interactions with Hope, including all sexual interactions, go as smoothly as two humans together. The height difference alone should have meant holding hands while walking is difficult, yet the only allowance is a side comment that Hope looks small in his ship's furniture. A little too much insta-love, too little proof reading and rather rapid sex scenes for me.
So the story was really good, the tension and despair of Hope was palpable. She also showed a good progression in her character arc. However, if you are thrown out of a space ship in space, you cannot just hold your breath and still survive! What about the frigid temperatures that would freeze you in seconds? I think if you can overlook this glaring error that you will be ok. I like to not have to suspend all my imagination when reading these...
I have always enjoyed books with alpha aliens and this proved to be one of the best ones. The chemistry between the main characters was off the charts. The story gripped and kept my attention and the writing itself was great. I always love a heroine who can give as good as she can take and this story didn't disappoint in that regard. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This book was cute. It wasn't super sexy but there were also no closed doors. I thought this was a nice middle ground if that's what you are looking for. But it was a good book, the plot was well thought out and characters developed pretty fully. I'll admit there were a couple moments i thought dragged but they didn't last long or detract from the story. It was a good story with a cute HEA would recommend. And I'd totally take an acheran of my own lol
This was a bit slow in sections but overall there was a decent plot with a good pace most of the time. Although it wasn’t a surprise ending it felt nicely wrapped up, no cliff hangers. I could see a few other books coming out of this book. There was good world building and character development and I would be interested in reading about the real Princess, the Junk dealer, and the best friend left on Earth. Nice length, good summer read.
Cute story, I love the toughness shown by all the characters. Chase didn't write any of the female rolls as dependent, or needy and allowed them to stand on their own. It's always refreshing to read about female characters that can kick ass, but also show emotions without being labeled as emotional or crazy. The relationship between the two main characters was sweet, and I like the pace that was set between the two.
That is how my emotions over this book. At parts I was cheering and happy, others not so much. Did like the premise, worlds. It really was the fact that he was 9 feet, and had “deadly” spikes, and “razor like” teeth that stuck me as yeah, not happening fact. As well as her exposure to space. Not sure if author understands what happens physically to humans in space. Not just lack of oxygen is that issue. Think next time, more practical research is needed.
This book had me from the first page the drama, suspense, kidnapping, conspiracy, traitors, it had everything. I could not put it down I had to know what was going to happen next. I hope there is going to be a book for Princess Immorata and maybe even Yennifer.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a lovely story that started out with a reluctant Prince being told he need to take a human bride. His bride is not happy with the arrangement especially when she is put in a cage. As the story goes on you cannot put it down

loved this book. fast paced yet cohesive story line. great character description and detail. u felt like u were there living the story along with the characters. great plot development to a fantastic ending. intrigue, suspense, betrayal, love, stealth, kidnapping, and much more to enjoy. u will want to read it all the way to the end without stopping. highly recommend this book.
This is my first book by this Author, she didn't disappoint. I found the story compelling, even if it started out slow. Hope was not a fainting flower she was brave even when terrified. Wander, was such a protective sweetheart. I'm so glad that it all worked out in the end.
Very nice easy reading, good story line, mostly expected plot but still a nice read to relax with, enjoyed the ending.
nice to be able to put down and pick-up when ever I could and still be able to follow where I was not needing to read back a couple pages to figure it out.
This is my first book by this author and I am completely in love. Absolutely fantastic characters, tangible sexual tension, amazing chemistry, with a great plot that kept me interested right up until the very end. I absolutely adored this book and am so excited to read more by this author.
One the plus side: steamy romance, plucky heroine, great fight scenes, honorable warrior hero, and HEA. On the minus side: a stunning lack of basic science in the science fiction aspects, which made the story stupidly, ridiculously unbelievable. Three lukewarm stars, zero interest in the upcoming series.
