Ashley Martinez is a brilliant young apps designer in need of a vacation; so, Scotland, here she comes! Dragging her besties along— Ghost Bus Tours, anyone? — it’s time to explore the Highlands! And they don’t disappoint in the least. First day there? Most gorgeous guy ever! So he’s got a bit of a temper problem. No one is perfect, right?
And the crazy man…
Ronan Finnie is an angry young man. Trapped as a wraith in Culloden Moor for the last 270+ years, he’s ready to let some of that wrath loose. He’s also determined to follow the witch’s directive so he can punch, obliterate, smash, and finish off Bonnie Prince Charlie forever. But he didn’t count on meeting a girl who could soothe the savage beast.
Watch for THE BLACKSMITH, up next!
*Ronan is #37 in the series. If you are new to the ghosts, first read the short set up, THE GATHERING, to avoid confusion. And join our hunky Highlanders on their Facebook page: Ghosts of Culloden Moor.
Diane Darcy loves to read and write lighthearted and funny books. She’s a member of the Heart of the West, and RWA. She was a finalist for Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart® Award. She’s written romantic comedies in several different genres; some historical, some contemporary, all lighthearted and fun. She makes her home in Utah with her family and dogs, and is hard at work on her next book.
I love Diane Darcy's Scottish heroes. Ronan is conflicted over his death and what went wrong over 300 years ago. When given a second chance to prove himself, he determines to protect whoever needs protecting. Enter Ashley, a computer game designer on vacation. A few people are after the next thing Ashley's developing, and Ronan shows up just in time.
Ashley and Ronan tour Scotland--looking into the haunted castles and ghost stories. I kept looking up castles and Scotland facts that I had no idea about! The story is entertaining, fun, and made me want to plan a trip to Scotland (but without ghosts! Though Ashley's Ronan is perfect for her!).
This is book 37 in the series. You will want to read the first short story, The Gathering, for the background information on the Muir witch before you start the rest of the series. After that, each one can be read as a standalone.
Ah Ronan, the big “hulk” of a highlander 👻 ghostie. I really enjoyed his story. He was easy to like and connect with. I found myself really wanting him to get his HEA. He didn’t feel like he deserved one, but he wanted to make sure that he did right by Soni, and do as she wished. I will definitely continue the series.
In many respects, Ashley and Ronan are complete opposites. She is a successful, tech savvy game developer and he is a ghost from the past who believes he failed his friends. Both learn to care for one another as Ronan embraces the role of bodyguard as they travel the Scottish countryside on a "haunted Hilands" tour. This is a ighthearted addition to this series.
This was another winner. I have read all 37 books and loved everyone of them. The different author's were great, everyone of them. The love stories have all been wonderful. I highly recommend every book to all who love ghost stories and great romances. Diana Romano
One of the Ghosts goes on a ghost tour of Scotland, and that is just the start of the fun. I really like this book, especially as I have been on enough ghost tours (and given a few) to really appreciate the details, and despite Diane Darcy's caveats at the end, this is actually pretty accurate. Highly enjoyable.
Crathes castle described as having the best gardens in England..... I have no words, the whole series needs a Scots editor, not an American one. Interesting premise, but shockingly poor knowledge of Britain and the difference between Scotland and England as countries
I really enjoyed reading the romance of Ashley and Ronan. There was so much fun and adventure and The ghost tour across Scotland was amazing. I really enjoyed the fact that a lot of the castles and stories of the things that took place in the book were historically accurate Giving a sense of realness to the story.
Ronan angry, sullen belligerent -he was all of these but more important he was missing self esteem. I felt so sorry for him,he was punishing himself until Ashley. Ronan is such a heartbreaker-I love him.
So my daughter is all about cosplay and her and my husband are all into Star Wars and so the "geek out" was familiar to me personally and adding the seriousness of Ronan just made me laugh. Really Loved this story, very fun and sweet.
Having Scottish blood myself, I'd love to go there. So I enjoyed the history and ghosts in this book. I would like to have a dollar for every time they asked each other "are you alright?" Enjoyed the ending , they are all so different
I was looking forward to this book because I've liked so many other books by this author including several others in this series. Unfortunately, I didn't like this one. The whole ghost tour thing was boring and a waste of time until they got to Culloden Moor, so most of the book.
You did a good job on this one as you did in the others, I love this Series and have read most of them but have a few more to go. The stories are so good and love in them are so touching. Keep up the good job. Thank you again. Ada G.
These stories are always great. This one was extra special. Action, intrigue, full of respect for men and women. And lots of love. Thank you ,thank you thank you
This is a great read. I loved Ronan, who is bloody and dark, and also Ashley who is funny, smart, and so observant to Ronan's needs. Absolutely enjoyed it.
This was one of the lamest story lines in the Ghost series that I have read yet, but it kept me entertained on a long day of travel. I always love the Ghosts, but in my opinion the whole premise behind the story was ridiculous.
I love this series. I've read all 37 and each one is refreshingly different. Can't wait for the next book! I definitely recommend L.L. Muir and the authors who have contributed to this series.
