She's deadly, beautiful, and the first person the British government calls when things go wrong. Now, for the first time, read all three books in this collated collection and discover the bestselling thriller series that's exploded onto the scene. If you like adrenaline fuelled action, shocking twists, and heart-pounding thrill rides across the globe, these are the books for you!
Book 1: Vendetta – When a British covert intelligence agency learns of an impending drug deal between the Venetian mafia and one of the UK’s most notorious importers, agent Maggie Black is sent to stop it.
Under the alias of an American drug lord, Maggie must infiltrate the crime family and stop their product from reaching British soil. A feat that gets more complicated when her colleague and old flame Leon is sent along with her.
Book 2: The Witness – When the sole witness to a foreign dignitary’s murder is kidnapped, secret agent Maggie Black is sent to the United States to save her.
Already shaken by unexpected personal news, Maggie’s work gets even more complicated when she learns the witness is a twelve-year-old girl being held inside the Russian consulate. Using her specialized skill set, Maggie must find a way to return the girl into the safe hands of her British colleagues.
Maggie Black would prefer tracking down and eliminating enemies of the state than deal with her own demons. The protagonist created by Jack McSporran has no life outside her job and occasional romantic liaison with a coworker of a similar background. The nature of her assignments don't offer much free time. However, as "The Maggie Black Case Files Nos. 1-3" indicate, personal wants and desires manifest regardless of sense of duty. And Maggie gets battered in this collection of vignettes. The case files are relatively short, and I read the collection as if it was one novel. The case files read like episodes in a television thriller, a mini series that leaves the reader wanting more. McSporran sprinkles just a bit about Black's personal predicament, which becomes more difficult with each case. This is my first brush with the character, and McSporran has another novel, "Kill Order," just waiting for me and another planned, "Hit List." I finished the case files quickly. I think I read each one in subsequent days during the week. And I wanted more. More detail. More about the top two characters, more action. One thing McSporran can do perhaps as good as anyone is describe an action sequence in which it appears he will kill off his lead. He makes it intense and up close. I believe the case files was just a taste of what he's got in his head.
The Maggie Black Case Files series is a brilliant way to support his main series of Maggie Black books. The Case Files are shorter books (Novellas) as as such move really quickly with a blistering pace but still have enough detail and plot to satisfy the reader.
Jack McSporran has a very smooth and "easy-to-read" writing style. A very good mix of character development, action and interesting attention to detail without slowing the narrative down.
Definitely one of better Espionage/Black Ops books series that have come out in recent times. Believable characters and realistic plot lines.
If you want a set of books that have action, suspense and just can’t put down this book set is great. I read all three books separate and couldn’t eat for the next story to come out. They don’t leave you hanging in the end where you have to wait to see what will happen. Maggie Black works for the British Government. When something goes wrong they call her. She is powerful, beautiful but deadly. These books are riveting fast pace action
What a great way to spend a long weekend having all Maggie Black's adventures in one set. Maggie is a tough, strong yet vulnerable, woman who feels deeply about doing the right thing for her country. The writing flows and Jack McSpooran's descriptive style is wonderful. It puts you right in the middle of the action. Enjoy a great set of books.
I gave read all the Maggie Black books and absolutely love them. This set of 3 novellas introduces us to Maggie and her colleagues and see her travelling from Venice, New York and Paris. Plenty of action and twists and turns. I totally recommend these books.
If you're looking for a fast paced action series, you're going to love this set of the first 3 books in the Maggies Black series. Well written with interesting plot lines and characters that leap off the page. An excellent series!
Overall, I enjoyed these three stories. I found the first story to be a bit clunky in the writing, but I thought the premise and heroine had promise. As I continued into the second story, I thought the writing was much improved. I looked forward to the third story and liked it the most.
The Maggie Black series just can’t come out fast enough. As long as the series keep coming along I’ll read and review each one. This series is seriously awesome. Tell your friends and keep enjoying each book!! GMR
I really enjoyed reading these books, they are action packed without a lot of boring details. Maggie is a very interesting character. I would recommend this series to others. I look forward to reading more of Maggie's adventures.
Maggie Black is a hero we could probably all fantasize about being. She is pretty, smart, tough as nails and working for the good guys. These three books moved so fast I couldn’t put them down, so I was really glad it was the collection. I look forward to reading more.
Glaring editing errors throughout the book. Somebody needs to teach this guy’s editor to spell and to use plurals correctly. Even Maggie Black was spelled wrong on page 412...
Love this guy! Jack McSporran I heard of him just two weeks ago and I have read all the Maggie Black series including the one just out! Giving Janet Evanovich a run for her money.lol!
Exciting plot and twists enough to keep me guessing for awhile. Some sexual situations are more descriptive than necessary. But fast forward works on audiobooks! Well narrated by Lucy Brownsville.
Absolutely adore these novellas. Highly recommend for quick action packed read filled with twists and turns.
Maggie Black has pulled on my heart strings one minute and had me gripping my book on the edge of my seat the next.So full of action and I was soo pleased to see plenty of Ashton in these books. Love me a bit of Ashton.
Couldn’t recommend these thrillers more. One of a kind!
