Lexa Pate has been called many thief, artificial, lover, friend. Now, as she faces the biggest crisis of her life, she realizes there’s another title trying to define murderer.
After she was freed from the Quad’s clutches, Lexa thought her life would go back to, if not normal, something resembling that. Sure, the band of rebels she’s joined have ideas of freeing the world from the Quad (delusions of grandeur might be more accurate), but Lexa is reunited with the men who’ve become her ragtag family. In her new home, she’s safe, she’s surrounded by people who care for her, and Quinn is always close at hand, ready to show her how much he loves her. So why does she feel like killing him every time they’re together?
Quinn thought rescuing Lexa from the Glass House would be all he needed to find his happy ending. But Lexa’s incarceration has changed things between them, and he fears the Quad altered more about Lexa than anyone suspects. With tensions in the rebel camp rising between the humans and the artificials, Quinn knows the war will reach a boiling point soon, and he may be the only one who can stop it. But if the rebels continue to believe Lexa is dangerous, he could lose more than the war—he could lose the girl he loves.

There is constant tension through the book between violent action and planning and implementing the next violent action. Tension builds to a fever pitch up to the exciting climax. It is difficult to stop reading, but you will need to take an occasional break to relieve the stress. This book is the conclusion of the Unstrung series, you really should read the first two first. Carefully note the Point of View at the beginning of each chapter - you need to know who's PoV it is. There is a very strong relationship tension between Quinn and Lexa, continuing from the previous books, and intensifying to a satisfactory climax in this one. Sadly, not all of the good guys make it through the book alive. There are many emotional scenes, so be ready with a handkerchief.
I've really enjoyed the Unstrung Series and this final volume did not disappoint. To avoid any spoilers, I'll just say that it's an action packed thrill ride to a satisfying conclusion.
As with all of Kendra's stories, the writing is top notch, the characters are fully realized, and the plot packs an emotional punch. If you're considering giving this series a try, be sure to start with the first book, Unstrung. You won't regret it!
4th, 5th time I've read this series? Yes it is that good. Sorry, really sorry Kendra i haven't left a review before. I was in mourning for a while after Matt Archer finished. Yup read that every year as least once every year, in fact, guess what i am going too do now? Download the whole series again.
Some years ago I bought a copy of an Omega. When I was better off I bought a real Omega watch. The copy still works. The real one, not. Sometimes a copy, just like the people in this book, can be as good, or better.( Even if they look the same!)
I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy. Tons of action, a solid amount of character development, and a rather satisfying ending. This book was probably my least favorite of the 3, but still good. Happy I picked this series up during stuff your kindle day!
