This was cute. But it really could have used a bit more editing. Lots of grammatical and spelling errors. And it was a smooth read till the end, and then it felt really rushed and a lot was left out.

This makes them ideal for a quick listen during a commute to and from work. The stories are engaging and maintain suspense until the conclusion, offering a satisfying experience for listeners. WOW - what a wonderful short and sweet little story. It's long enough to cover the story well and short enough to never get boring!!! Just the right length!!!
Emma Wright is the main character of this story -- her father is the sheriff -- and she has a crush on Colby - a deputy that works for her father. (That's just preliminary things to let you know who is who.) Emma has a 5-month old puppy, Molly, that she is training to be a therapy dog. Emma volunteers to help her neighbor by picking up her daughter from a St. Patrick's Day concert. She gets to the club and the lead singer of the band gets into an argument with another guy, then he collapses and advises he can't breath. She calls 911 and the sheriff (her dad). OK -- If I keep going, I will be telling you the whole story and since I don't write spoilers -- you are gonna have to just read the rest for yourself.
I love the little stories that P. Creeden writes and can't wait for the next one to be released!!!
It's been a long time since I read anything by Pauline Creeden and I can't believe that I didn't look up more of her work sooner! This is actually the third in the Ridgeway Rescue Mysteries series but the first one I read since I found it on St. Patrick's Day.
The Good: This cover! How could you not fall in love with that pup? I have a serious soft spot for huge, fluffy dogs and I miss having one. This isn't about me though! This is about a very well written novella filled with enjoyable characters and one very observant main character that I hope gets everything she wants!
The Bad: Umm...Yep, I got nothin'.
The Summary: If you're a fan of cute, cozy mysteries that won't take you hours or days to get through, you're going to want to check out this series by Pauline Creeden. Personally, I'm going to be stalking her mailing list and Facebook group to find out when the next one in this series is going to be released!
This is the second book I have read of this author's celebration series. It was a perfect title for today's celebration of St. Patrick's Day.
The book is very short, just eight chapters and can be read in 1-2 hours.
The book starts out with our main character , on St. Patrick's Day, at a dog obedience school trying to teach her cuddly St. Bernard to eventually be a disability dog.
Due to a unforseen circumstances she finds herself at a little hole in the wall restaurant where the band, "Irish" is playing. This is the setting for where the murder will take place. A band member is killed and it is up to her and her sheriff father to solve the crime.
It seemed obvious as to who committed the crime but proof had to be in the telling and unfolding.
Nice story and looking forward to others by this author.
Disclosure:I was giving this book for free to review. The opinions expressed here are 100% my own and may be different from yours.
This series just gets better with each book, so much so I wish they were longer so the enjoyment kept going lol. Emma's good deed for her friend and therapy dog trainer goes sideways when just as she arrives to pick up her friends daughter the band she had gone to listen to is also leaving and gets into a tussle with a fans older brother. While her Dad (the Sheriff) and Colby (Who she is would love to be more than friends with) try to figure out how the lead singer died Emma's smart thinking starts to kick in and we see if she can work out the killer and how they did it before the law! I just love how everything unfolds and the little twists there are that make this such a great wee series.
Murder on Saint Patrick’s Day is a quick little mystery, perfect for today. Emma and her dog Molly are picking up a friend’s teenage daughter after a concert at a local cafe when the lead singer of the band collapses and dies on his way to the hospital. Emma’s observational skills once again help out her dad, the Sheriff, and they figure out who the killer is.
The mystery was good. It’s a short story, so everything moves a bit quickly, but I like the characters and the clues fit in well. I liked a band being involved in the mystery this time, it made it feel very St. Patrick’s Day-ish.
Murder on Saint Patrick's Day, by P. Creeden, part of the Ridgeway Rescue series, was a wonderful short read! This is the first I've read in the series, but the characters felt familiar right away. I love the small town setting, and the animals being involved was lovely. Amazingly, this short book took me through all the stages that a good mystery does, and had a satisfying ending! I will definitely be reading the entirety of the Ridgeway Rescue Mystery series! This was an awesome "mini mystery"!
This was another successful cozy mystery in this fantastic series. I read the entire short story during my lunch hour.
I'm beginning to think that Sheriff Wright needs to add Emma to the force's payroll as a consultant. She has uncanny attention to detail. She's also sweet and empathetic, which makes her the perfect human companion to Molly—therapy-dog-in-training—who is proving that she was meant to be a therapy dog.
After finishing a therapy pet training class with her St Bernard puppy, Molly, Emma volunteers to pick up a friend’s daughter and arrives post concert just as a scuffle breaks out between band members. When the lead singer is pushed and then has trouble breathing, she steps in to help. This is a short easy read and introduces you to Emma and Molly for future stories
Emma volunteers to pick Stacy up from a Saint Patrick concert. Disturbance and fighting begins, with the band leader, whispering he can’t breathe falling to the ground. Chris who attached him, ‘saying he hoped he dies’ Rumor has it he was going solo with a contract on Monday that would give band members motive. To was he allergic to something besides peanuts, Good easy flowing plot, that makes you want answers of what did happen.
Love reading holiday inspired short stories. This fun mystery with a unique romantic small town St. Patrick's Day, Irish band, piercings and more. A delightful young sleuth, who is the daughter of the sheriff and her rescue St. Bernard puppy made this avid reader chuckle wanting more. Fun novellas that can be read in a single sitting. Fitting when one's concentration is low on a cold snowy Michigan day.
These Ridgeway mysteries are great short cozies. in this one, the lead singer of a band can't breathe after being shoved a few times. Of course, it's a clever murder and Emma helps her dad, the sheriff, and Colby, a deputy, figure it out. I'm not a great fan of short stories, but I love these! I definitely recommend it!
Quick read and enjoyable. Great when your time is limited. I enjoy this series of short stories about a young lady training a Saint Bernard puppy for a future as a therapy dog. As a daughter of the head of police, she often finds herself and the puppy at the scene of the crime and helps solve the case.
For this being short, it felt complete with a clear beginning, middle and end. It was very engaging mystery that kept me invested. I wasn’t bored. I didn’t feel it was rushed. I was very invested into it. It might have been a simple mystery, but it was an effective one. Plus the cute puppy dog didn’t hurt either. So, this was a sold win in my book.

Emma volunteers to pick up her neighbor's daughter, Stacy from a St. Patrick's Day concert. While the bandmembers exit the building, one of them collapses and later dies. There is nothing to indicate the cause of death. This is a short mystery that kept my interest until the end. This is the most interesting book I have read of this series.
DID Read this because of the puppy on the cover? Yes, but I am glad I did.
I was looking for St. Paddy's day novellas and came across this one. It is a quick murder mystery that follows Emma and her foster pup Molly. It can be read quicly and would be a good pallet clenser between books. I liked it enough that I will read the rest of the series inbetween other reads.
Another delightful Ridgeway Rescue murder mystery. I wished it was longer but the writing of these books just keeps getting better, and I love that they have the same characters but are stand-alones as well! I will be pre-ordering and waiting for the next release in June.
A cute story show casing a saint Bernard puppy. Molly is learning to be a thearpy dog. At a terrible ! murder scene Molly comfort a young teenage girl as the sheriff investigate the scene. Molly seems to understand the young girl needs her.
There's nothing like doing a favor for a neighbor and getting caught up in a possible murder of a band's lead singer. Who did it, how did they do it, and where's the murder weapon? Great cozy murder mystery! Can you guess who did it?
Short, clean mystery set at the Ridgeway Cafe on St. Patrick’s Day. Molly the St. Bernard puppy is being trained as a therapy dog and she and her owner Emma find themselves on the middle of a crime scene when the lead singer of a local Irish band collapsed after a gig at the cafe.
This story is short and an excellent read when waiting for an appointment or in a line . The deed was done but how? I was surprised when the murderer's method was revealed.
Emma again noticed things others didn't. Everything was wonderful until we get to the actual resolution of the mystery. That seemed kind of out-there. Still enjoyable, but not as realistic as the other books had been.
Cute, quick read. I should probably read the whole series since the stories are short and you get just a snippet of the characters. As others have said, the book needs a bit more editing but still a nice escape for an hour with a furkid included.
