1401, read the national tiger count when Ranger Singh joined Tiger Reserve, Bandhavgarh.
He had an uphill task ahead to prove himself. A ragtag team, crumbling infrastructure and corrupt department seniors, nothing seemed to help. But then came a pleasant surprise – An unlikely friend who helps him find himself.
‘Ranger’ is a tale of friendship and commitment, of discovering self and the world; of protection and survival.
Ranger is the story about Ranger Singh who moves to a tiger reserve for preservation of the endangered life and shows us the different side which we can never find due to this busy schedule we have got into ourselves. Though the cover is quite fascinating, the title wasn’t justified. At first, I thought it to be some spy stories or something related to stories of soldiers. However, it turned out to be completely different. Moreover, the plot became quite expected as the story progressed which was quite not good. I also think the writing style could have been better. Overall, a one-time read.
Reading this book is like watching a movie. It’s fast paced and some parts are quite heart breaking. The vivid descriptions take us into the heart of Bandhavgarh. Most of the characters are well depicted. Ranger is a light and entertaining read.
I have often hear that a person changes when life hits him. The book is aptly described by this line. It is a mixture of various emotions from smiles to cries. I really liked the pace of the book and descriptions that helped me link with the book more. Blurb is intriguing and definitely creates an urge to buy the book and that’s why I bought it and glad that I did. It is worth the money and efforts and time, it can be completed in one sitting.
My mother got me this book from crossword as i am a big fan of animals specially tigers. At first i thought it to be a jungle safari kind of a book but it turned out a totally unexpected read, i found it so gripping and moving that i just left everything behind, even my tuition test just to finish this book of and know what happens next. It is totally unexpected, unpredicted. This book should be read by all the book lovers who fail to get such enthralling read. Recommended.
A story that stays with you, long after the book is over. It shows the humane as well as the cruel side of man, when it comes to animals in the wild. The story is about a forest ranger and his team who go to lengths to do their job( protection of the wildlife in the Bandhavgarh forest), despite political interference and persistent poachers. The plight of the Tiger, our national animal, is very beautifully described. Also, heart wrenching is the dangers it faces in its own home. Loved reading the book. It starts off with a little too many adjectives ( descriptives) to my liking, but is an engaging book. Definitely recommended.
To start with the review let me just bow down in front of the creators of this book, hands down guys, you have done a brilliant job. Nobody has the courage to take such a fierce and bold step to write on such a genre which is just not only out of fashion but requires some serious skills to be written with a good pace, narration and writing skills, hardly as reviewers we come across books where we get to read such serious topics and written in a fun way. I just love the characters : Mishra ji, ranger, Shivani, t2, mutton and his cubs and his friend, shashtriji, each n every role was written with such balance and poise that I couldn’t find any flaws behind. For me the negative points are, firstly they both didn’t do justice to shivani’s character, secondly what happened to remaining two cubs of mutton and his wife, thirdly the climax ended way too abruptly I was waiting for some action to happen at the end in ranger’s style but that just dint happen and the book ended. You know what is the the best part of this book that it has been written by two authors, I am sure the romantic part must have been written by Richa and the thriller part must have been written by Aseem. Overall my conclusion is this book is lit AF.
Book Title: The book title ' Ranger ' is new and interesting .
Book Cover : The book cover is a beautiful image of a Jeep moving in midst of a forest with long trees around.
Plot: The book is a very different kind of read unlike the usual romance or crime thriller or mystery. The book talks about the nature, natural reserves, animals, their extinction, the various criminal and illegal activities carried out in the natural reserves across the country by some strong and selfish minded powerful people.
What I liked: 1. The story line and the plot 2. The important connection between human life and wild life and its harmony.
What I disliked: 1. Few grammatical errors
Narration: The narration is very good.
Language and Vocabulary: A very good language and nice vocabulary.
My Final Verdict— A very different and interesting read.
Book title:4/5 Book Cover: 5/5 Plot: 3/5 Characters: 3/5 Narration: 3/5 Language and Vocabulary: 3/5
By first glance of the cover, I thought this book to be a thriller but after reading the synopsis I got a rough idea what is in store for me, next. I did find the cover to be interesting but let me tell you the story is par brilliance. These 2 writers have nailed it. The story talks about the horrendous crime of animal poaching and how some people are destroying our fauna’s habitat. The characters involved are pretty strong and the message that the authors wanted to convey through this story has been conveyed well. Alot of emotions can be felt while reading this book and the way the authors have woven words in a poetic style is praiseworthy. This book can not be put in a particular genre as there are multiple genres involved and the story turned out to be a mixture of all of it. The question will always stay in your mind that ‘what next’, the best part about this book is it is unpredictable. I just wished the authors would have worked on the grammatical part a little bit and this book would have been a perfect page turner for me.
The story of mutton, toofan, Shivani and ranger singh moved me to tears. I just couldn’t stop myself smiling amd grinning from ear to ear when ranger kills the poacher of mutton and gets his cub back. As a girl I preferably liked the character of Shivani as she is very bold and dedicated towards her job. The writer has very cunningly written a love story that starts in a bandhavgarh reserve and how it evolves around illegal animal poaching and skin trading. This novel has the ability to shift your emotions from sadness to happiness in minutes and this is the best part of the book. I think if only the author should have worked on the editing and proofreading of this book a lil more it would have done wonders. I really hated the character of shashtriji. The cover is good and somewhat resembles the movie kaal. Overall an average read
Storytelling, poetry verses in between, cover photo, blurb, in between conversations and dialogues, characterization all is done with perfection except the character of MLA every character had a strong role to play. Shivani’s character was a little monotonous and so unpleasant. I really adored the character of Ranger and mutton, the warmth and love that the authors have shows in penning down the emotions of a tiger’s cub is impeccable and the authors deserve a pat on their back. Animals poaching is not only illegal but is that one truth that humanity should be ashamed of and it was very kind of the author that they have come up with such a plot that not only delivers a strong message but also tells us what our moral duty is, towards the animals and nation. Gripping read.
My aspect of rating this novel lies in the fact that I love twists and turns in the book whereas this book perfectly stood on my expectations and this too might get appreciated by many readers like me but this book doesn’t want the reader to guess something. Everything is clear and simple to read. I appreciate the writing style.
After quite a time I came across a book that has impressed me throughout. From the very page to the last one, the book is well proportioned and has nothing in excess. If read with an adaptive mind, this book can change thinking of an individual to a certain extent. The cover is intriguing at first and adds to the immediate interest in the book. The proofreading is very poor and has some exceptionally bad grammar mistakes.
This book is a complete package and has all the major emotion packed in a single book. Ranger turned out to be quite an engaging read and i realised being a strong head and staying dedicated to your profession is so important. Ranger turned to be my fav character out of all the characters, such fearless men are rare to find and that’s why i as a reader am in completely in awe of him. Although why din’t the authors let shivani propose ranger in a romantic manner ? It could have been better no, pls don’t ruin it from the next time, i really wanted the moment to be special but when it came i really wanted to chop that part of :/ Overall it is a good book and i personally loved it.
Authors should work on their proofreading and editing else a masterpiece can be easily spoiled by too many mistakes. This book could have done wonder had the editor worked on it well but the authors have managed to pull this book quite well. Amidst so many mistakes, boring ending, incomplete story this book still has something in it and deserves to be read once and if the authors agree, a second part can be written off too. I recommend this average read, still this book is better as compared to all the trash available in the market.
In comparison to the way of writing and the overall plot, the story could have been better. As the name and cover suggests this book is about a person who joins the tiger reserve at bhandavgarh and changes the whole scenario of that reserve and how he follows the path of saving the wildlife from such a brutal crime. A blend of emotions, love and separation, this book addresses various issues to which our generation should pay attention for saving the wildlife. This book has been great and I quite liked it.

Though I rarely go for books other than Romance, this book’s cover is what caught my attention. The cover has been designed very beautifully and it’s very attractive. The genre of this book is completely different taking about humanity, importance of life, wildlife and its conservation and many other things which makes us ponder upon our actions and how have we become in this materialistic world. The language is simple and lucid and the writing style is different with some good use of new vocabularies.
This book stands out as a clear cut winner coz it has emotions, friendship, love and pain. The title matched well with the context and cover adds to the anxiety that title creates. The book gives some important messages which makes the reader think even after days of completing the book. Full marks goes to the authors for the language and representation. The only thing I feel was missing is good interpretation of the story and grammar definitely was an issue for me.
The cover and the title goes well with the content. Although, the cover is very vibrant, it still feels good when viewed, it is very catchy and the moment I saw it I was attracted towards it. The storyline is very basic but the USP is the way it has been written. The language is commendable and has no literal tough words. The book is mainly about animal hunting and poaching and how ranger saves animals from it. The issues have been highlighted very nicely.
There are several messages that i could get from this book. One for example is that not everyone can be trusted. The book is a really good one time read as it relates directly to the real world and the people around us. It highlights various important aspects in human life that needs to be cleared while maintaining a relation. Full marks I would like to give to the authors for writing such a commendable book.
Rangers is a “to the point” book that manages to fulfill everything that a reader could interpret from the title. It makes the reader go from smiles, sadness, emotions and love. The book also has great message that hurdles in life can only be cleared if hurdles inside us can be cleared. The language is simple and lucid. The cover is quite vibrant and makes you interpret a lot and the story stood on my expectations, it couldn’t have been better.
The best part about the book is the clarity in the plot. The characters don’t have any complications which makes the book very much readable. I personally feel that the cover could have been better to depict the emotions and message of the book. The pace makes the novel intriguing. The author has managed to keep the balance just at the perfect level. The story is unpredictable and it creates a havoc of emotions in our mind. The ending was not so good though.

A new thing that I observed in this book was the way the chapters were splitted, that has been done really well. The starting was very rough but gradually as the book picks pace, it becomes so gripping. the reader just expects the story to revolve around animals and wildlife and that is perfectly written. A great one time read with a beautiful message about the companionship and trust between human and animals.
This book could have been a wonderfully scripted book but the pace and writing style of the book made it boring. The editing was another point which could have turn of any reader. The plot was impressive but the writing style couldn’t do justice with the story line. The author could have worked a little well on the first half. I actually had to complete the book half heartedly as the book failed to grab my attention from the very starting.
To start, this book could not get a better cover and title. Both of them looks appropriate and justifies more when reader completes reading the book. Each and every chapter has been beautifully crafted. The book is written well and the plot is mind blowing. The author could have paid more attention in improving the editing and proofreading, the story is too fast in the second half as compared to the first half.
