This is a fantastic place to start! I've always wanted to be able to draw, at least in a basic way. Yet most guides I've run across seem to need you to walk already and they teach you to run. Either that or they're designed for children and no real guidance is given beyond how to draw the one specific thing. This book is the answer, it teaches you how to walk.
The author's voice is pleasant and conversational, and gives you the sense that he really is in the room with you helping you on your journey. To some, his incredibly cheesy comments might be off-putting, but I found them incredibly endearing! I am very proud of some of the drawings this book has equipped me to throw together!
