Francine Paula Pascal was an American author best known for her Sweet Valley series of young adult novels. Sweet Valley High, the backbone of the collection, was made into a television series, which led to several spin-offs, including The Unicorn Club and Sweet Valley University. Although most of these books were published in the 1980s and 1990s, they remained so popular that several titles were re-released decades later.
General Atmosphere The atmosphere of the book is quite immersive and remains consistent throughout the entire text. The author manages to create a believable world that follows its own internal rules. It is easy to picture the scenes described in the chapters. Used to enjoy the Sweet Valley books during my teens. Still enjoy picking one up to read from time to time but they seem to lack an intriguing storyline now that I'm reading them as an adult. Fond memories of my childhood though.
One of my favorites, stories about Jess and Jeremy going strong. Jeremy is moving to Arizona and the news kills Jessica. In the end, though, he decides to stay. Plus, Will now works at Tribune and discovers Mr. Matthews is bribing Hank Krubowski to get Ken the Michigan scholarship.
