I accidentally picked up this book having misread the title and so glad I did. Very important from a view of social justice and what we need to do and how to act as educators.

The author clearly defines social justice as a call to action. Education is for 'all' children and it should promote both private good and public good. A framework and rationale for action is reviewed. State accountability and testing provide a minimal education for students, the rest is up to the school system to assure each child receives a great education.
