Kettle (Tiago) is Sebastian's best friend, coworker at the fire station and brother in the Dixie Warden MCs. He has had bad luck in his opinion his whole life. When he meets Adeline (Addy) he starts to feel things he hasn't in a long time ago. Addy has her own set of issues and has already been eyeing Kettle.
We get a front seat to Addy's funny personality as well as getting to know her family. We learn more about Kettle and more of the MC members. This book is a must read if you want action, love, heartache, family and humor

this series is like crack. ..I am hooked! I love the stories and the devotion from the H's. each one has a smidge of angst but it is usually resolved quickly. They also involve an actual story. That is what I look for in my favorite books. I don't mind drama from outside sources but I love when the couple stand strong. This book was safe from cheating, love triangles and it had one heck of a HEA. I love a good epilogue. I automatically bought the next in the series and look forward to revisiting my favorite characters!

Adeline was awesome! She was a unique kind of person, covered in tattoos, rescued animals, a high school science teacher, and had a huge heart. She was a terrific human being and a great sister. Her twin, Viddy, is someone I can't wait to meet. She's blind due to an accident the crazy twins were in when they were teenagers and I enjoyed watching what was developing between her and Trance. And when these sisters were together... magic!
Kettle was amazeballs! He was an amazing friend and brother and I was kind of surprised by how much depth there was to his character. I wish there was an actual discussion about the illness he suffered as a child and all that he had lost in his life, but I'm guessing what I want wouldn't have really pushed the story where it needed to go.
I will say that this was probably the most painful book I've read from LLV ever. It packed a whole lot of punch and yet it gave plenty of heartwarming moments and humor as well. It had a great balance and for all that it forced me to feel, it's more than worthy of all the stars!

Kettle was in a bit of a rut, he had his job and his MC but there is a part of him that wants what his best friend has even if he doesn't want to admit it. Then he meets Adeline, she is a breath of fresh air and sexual frustration rolled into one. Neither were looking for each other but they found each other none the less. Kettle has to let go of his past though and is holding in some truths about himself that Adeline doesn't know about, can he let her in to build a future they both desperately want.
I loved that the second book in the series was different than the first, the characters completely different and not formula. Kettle is a broody one, you get where he is coming from but you also want to shake him a bit. Adeline is lovely, hilarious, and a ball of fury. Had a lot of humor as well as laid the path to the next book. Exceptional.

Another sexy funny and emotional romance from my new favorite Lani Lynn Vale. Oh boy, this series has really sucked me in. I'm afraid I won't be able to do long reviews for each installment only because I need to jump into the next one. I loved Kettle...he can blow his top around me anytime. This girl can write. I am so addicted to these characters. I feel like I know these people. Kettle was so full of life..energy. ..just so freaking vibrant. I loved Adeline for him. Kettle was like a force of nature with how he could be the calm of the storm then erupt like a Volcano. Adeline was the perfect balance to his overwhelming electric personality. I really adored these two. But more than that I loved the way Lani built a family for ever character in this bunch of bikers, firefighters and paramedics. There was a lot of suspense which kept me guessing. Heart breaking secrets of the past.. I was devastated over things that Kettle suffered through. A love so deep and strong rose from the ashes of his heart to burn bright and forever.. Adeline gave him back his hope. Lani.. I'm truly so happy to have found your amazing imagination.

3.5 Aww, so cute!
I like these two, they're fun and cute together. This series is pretty nice so far, really good writing and, even though the plot is nothing new (it's a romance after all), it's well written and the characters have an awesome chemistry.
Definitely worth reading.

A little weird how long it took for them to get together. For people that lived next door, they did not see each other for weeks? But I liked Kettle and Adeline and enjoyed their story. Kettle did a couple of things (or rather did not do) that irritated me, but they would not prevent me from reading the book.

I didn't know what a Halligan was and its significance to a axe was but...I know Tiago is hot and Adeline is amaze balls. Once again the names kick ass and the characters are hilarious at the best possible moments. Hot love scenes and easy to picture plot lines. I LOVE THIS AUTHOR! She is serving 7 out of 7 with awesomeness.

Kettle and Adeline meet under dire circumstances, so she thinks. She smells smoke, and he’s a firefighter. So, who better than he to help her and her litter of renegade housepets out? He’s tall and gorgeous. And, she’s dark and beautiful. The girl made me laugh. She said some of the funniest shit. And, boy was she ever confident. No doubt about it, she was silly!! She was practically drooling everytime she saw Kettle running down the street with that magnificently toned body of his. Jeez, if he ran down my street, I’d be totally salivating too!!
This book seemed more suspenseful than the first, and I totally enjoyed it more. The drama seemed to stem from their personal lives as they both learn about each other’s family backgrounds. While there is serious theatrics within the story, the comical banter between the characters is still bopping along. When the reader is introduced to Addy’s sister, Viddy, it’s comedy times two. TWINS!! They are quite a pair, and even though Viddy has a visual disability, I couldn’t help but laugh at their cheekiness. They just cracked me up!!
The humor was there, but so was the heartache. Kettle suffered a loss in the past that was so tragic. He didn’t know if he could ever get passed it. It was sad. My heart felt for him. And, Addy, her life was far from perfect as well. But, she was a survivor. I could just tell from her personality and outlook on life that she would make something of herself. Kettle and Addy together spelled completeness. Between her sister and his “brothers”, they were loved and cared for unconditionally. They were a captivating couple!
The author enthralls the reader with thrilling intensity and comical foolishness. It was fun and appealing. I was highly entertained in this installment of the series. Two thumbs up to Ms. Vale for making me want to continue to read this series!! I couldn’t recommend it enough!!

Kettle's best friend just had a baby and he realizes that his life is just passing him by. He doesn't want to be alone anymore and has to make some changes in his life. He meets Addy when he answers a fire call to her home. Addy has definitely notices this hot man around the complex and has enjoyed watching him a time or two. They begin as friends and then become so much more. That doesn't mean smooth sailing for them as they both bring some baggage with them.
I so loved Kettle and Addy together. I also loved his extended family with the MC. Their banter was fantastic. I can't wait to read more about them.

This was a FREAKING AWESOME BOOK had me laughing right from the start ......Kettle what a Hunk!! ......Adeline & her sister Viddy what a Laugh... th Lov between the to women beautiful.....Loved every moment of reading this Book... just gonna throw this out there Lani... Viddy & Trance.... as Addy said make it happen!!!! .....Great to read sum Sam & Jack.... Hmmmm ....I love how the Freebirds just pop up..... A Hot Read & yes I shed some tears ... Another get Story line .... also I really do hope that the next book comes out really soon ... say Dec that would be great ... this Series is my new Fav.... So Get One Clicking People... One of the Best Series I read this yr
I love the FreeBird series, the Stories were amazing and everyone unique. I am already feeling the same about the Dixie Wardens. I love that Silas and Sue were back again being the alpha badasses. I also like that they went into more characters with the Dixie Wardens, like Trance and Viv... can't wait for that story!
Lain Lynn Vale I really wouldn't mind seeing Jacks brother pop back up since he dose work with the some of the Dixie Wardens at the fire department and all.....Thank you for writing both of these series I'm so excited to read more for your books!

Tiago “Kettle” Spada is a firefighter on the Benton Fire Department where his best friend of 10 years, Sebastian, is his boss. He is also a member of the Dixie Wardens MC alongside Sebastian. He took the attack on Sebastian personally and threw himself into nothing but work at the fire station, his MC, the Dixie Wardens and protecting the people that he loves & considers family. It isn’t until Sebastian is happily married with a new baby that Kettle realizes that life is passing him by and he is missing out and if he doesn’t want to end up alone, he’s going to have to make some changes in his life.
Adeline Sheffield is a high school chemistry teacher in Benton, Louisiana. She always happens to notice an extremely hot guy who runs around the apartment complex and parking lot, so she takes the time to enjoy the view. She finally gets to meet the hot man when he comes to her apartment on a possible fire call. Eventually the two start up a friendship and some type of non-relationship relationship that eventually turns into more and an actual relationship.
Addy has a twin sister, Viddy, who happens to be blind, and while it is a sucky situation, she chooses to laugh and enjoy life instead of being depressed, upset and terrified of being blind. The story of how she loses her eyesight is somewhat comical because you can just picture the two young girls, but it was dangerous & both are lucky to be alive.
While in this book there isn’t any drama in either Addy’s or Kettle’s jobs, there is plenty of drama in their personal lives, from siblings to ex-lovers to family members and some unsavory people who are definitely trouble. We learn of both Addy’s family background and current family situation and we also learn of Kettle’s family past which has created a clusterf*ck of a situation. We also get to know a couple of the MC members a little better, namely Trance, who has the two differently colored eyes and Loki who has a facial scar. We don’t learn about their backgrounds but we do learn about their current lives.
I got quite a chuckle from Kettle going through sympathy feelings. I’m also glad that we got to see a little more of both Johnny and Blaise! Kids say and do the darndest things!
I can’t wait for the next book, nor do I have any idea whose it may be. But I’m really hoping that it will be Trance and Viddy’s book or Loki’s book. Both possibilities are there, so I’ll just have to wait and see.

Two words-fireman biker. Yep two words guaranteed to get a girls attention, an when the sexy beast is both a fireman and a biker holy hell.
Let me just start by saying yes this is a standalone book but if you haven't read the first in this series, get it!! I'm addicted to Lani Lynn Vale thanks to this series, I fell hard in book one and book two doesn't disappoint.
You've got your blurb so here's my opinion. Halligan to My Axe is a step up from book one, an that's saying alot because I have re read book one twice because I adore it! You have amazing characters, a consistent well written plot with characters you either want to be or want to be with!!
There's a bit of mystery, alot of hot man, some pretty spectacular sex and a happy ending. What more could you ask for? Biker firemen. Yes I said it earlier but it deserves repeating, I mean how much hotter can it get?
I can't wait for more from Vale, she's my new favorite author.

So I’m going to be real when I say this isn’t normally a book I would have read were it not for a goodreads challenge I was doing. MC romances just haven’t been my thing in a while and I’ve been over the whole extremely beautiful man who gets all the ladies going crazy because they’re a fireman, club member and just drop dead gorgeous like our hero is. I am however glad I read the book because while our heroes’ type may not work for me that certainly wasn’t the case when it came to the heroine Adeline, she could handle him and more. I mean it’s hard to say anything bad about a woman who rescues animals from laboratory experiments and clutches a giant python around her neck like an everyday accessory. Everything about Adeline was great, she’s covered in tattoos yet teaches high school science. Talk about an original character. Adeline also has a remarkable comaderie with her blind sister. The two joke and bicker like two old ladies and sometimes their scenes were better to read than others.
This was a more lo-key MC romance and while the club does play a role in the book, most of the members work for some form of law enforcement so the two sides often mesh together. There is some ex girlfriend drama I could have done without and the random twist with said chick at the end was so bogus and skimmable.
There are quite a few graphic scenes and not necessarily violent . The story was overall romantic and interesting and the ending leaves you wanting the next book about her sister. If you’re an mc fan don’t miss this one. It’s perfect for a weekend read.

This book tells the story of Kettle and Addy, and has one of my favourite subjects , ( Biker pursuing Teacher ). In fact, the Hero is both a Biker and a Fireman, how can that be wrong ?
Incidently, I want her job, completely acceptable to pitch up consistently late , GRRR..
I liked both main characters, and the supporting one's. I hadn't read the first book in the series, but didn't feel I missed out on the backstory. The Biker element, was on the lighter side, which was fine for me.
The MC's get together after a few setbacks, there is one episode, where the Hero was an a**hole. After which I would have liked more grovelling, but that probably says something about me. ( Can there be too much grovelling ? not for me )
But, they work together, to get through the havoc , usually generated by family members. And after the compulsory kidnapping, there is a HEA.
There was a nice long epilogue , and now I want to see Addy's sister get her own book.
Incidently, I want her job, completely acceptable to pitch up consistently late , GRRR..
I liked both main characters, and the supporting one's. I hadn't read the first book in the series, but didn't feel I missed out on the backstory. The Biker element, was on the lighter side, which was fine for me.

Book 2 in The Heroes of The Dixie Wardens MC.
Not quite 5 stars but very close.
This was a very enjoyable book. It had a lot going on and really made you feel a part of The Heroes of the Dixie Wardens. Adeline and Kettle's story is very strong. Many of the things from Kettle's past has made him strong, but also haunt him. Adeline thinks her life is boring, but how wrong can she be. Things keep happening to Adeline and Kettle is the perfect person to keep her safe.

I loved this one. I was lucky enough to read this one in beta and I think it is one of Vale's best to date. Attraction, romance, angst, laugh out loud humor, great character dynamics (Adeline and her sister KILLED me) serious smexytimes, and a well plotted suspense storyline that takes you through the ringer. Vale has become one of my cracky MC authors who gives me exactly what I need.

Another fantastic read.. I'll reiterate Delicious Alpha Insta Love type super hot,super sexy and fun.

Reread many times...an all-time favourite - - entertaining series. RTF.

Un de mes livres favoris dans cette série et une romance légère et sexy à dévorer sans modération !
Ce que j'ai particulièrement aimé :
- l'originalité de l'héroïne : une prof avec des tatouages et un python, j'adore =)
- tout le drama avec le frère et le trafic de drogue !
- l'horrible drama sur le passé de Kettle (!!! Cette scène où Adeline découvre par erreur son passé !! Horrible ><)
- LES CHAUSSURES <3 Plus belle preuve d'amour EVER !!
Bref, pour les fans de romances avec des pompiers, des bikers et les héroïnes badass, je recommande =)
PS : tellement hâte d'avoir l'histoire avec Trance et la soeur de l'héroïne Viddy =D (parce que son copain ... BEURK !!)

What I particularly liked :
- the originality of the heroine : a teacher with tattoos and a python, I love it =)
- all the drama with the brother and the drug trade !
- the horrible drama about Kettle's past (!!! This scene when Adeline discovers his past by mistake !! Horrible ><)
- THE SHOES <3 Most beautiful proof of love EVER !!
In short, for fans of romances with firefighters, bikers and badass heroines, I recommend it =)
PS: so excited to have the story with Trance and the heroine's sister Viddy =D (because her boyfriend ... YUCK!!)

4.5 Halligan To My Axe Stars
I love that the library always gets the audio’s when they are released! Because I love Lani Lynn Vale!!
This book is awesome; I really enjoyed the dynamic between Kettle and Adeline. It did take me a little bit to get into the story but once I did I really enjoyed it.
I think what I like best about Lani’s books is that they are unlikely heroes who are not only good but a little bad too. And they fall in love with unique love interest’s, let's be honest the normal gets boring and that might be why I just love these stories so much because they are NOT.
Adeline is so different and I freaking love how much she loves her sister, whose book I am really looking forward to!!!
And how Kettle not only falls in love with Adeline but he understands Adeline’s need for her family.
This book as a little of everything suspense, action, and erotica.
Also, the narration is pretty great, both narrators are favorites of mine so I was very, please.

My book group friends kept recommending this author's books and although I had this one on my WTR list I never got there...until yesterday. I have to say that I agree with my friends! I liked all the characters in this book and starting with a 'book 2' in a series, I wasn't lost at all and really got into the whole club feel. The two MCs were funny, sweet and had great chemistry. I loved the alpha-ness of all the guys and the funny independence of the women. Great read!
