The only thing I miss about Memphis - a ghost town to me now- is Andria Lisle.
I miss looking into her face when she would wax evangelical about all that was lost but still possible while standing on the sacred ground that was Soul City USA.

Back when I sort of knew her?
She still believed in ghosts.

I love this book.
I mean - I fucking LOVE this book.
Understand?

If Rock&Roll or Soul or Blues ever stood up on its hind legs and spoke directly to you in between the dark depths of the soul of your youth or beyond the ages lost between?
You should already own a copy of this.

Buy it now, you bastards.
You know who I'm talking to.

Andria Lisle is a brilliant writer.
Buy her books. Or them what contain her writing.
Collect them all.

I do.
