Chris doesn't ask for much and he usually gets less, but a birthday gift of a disembodied monkey penis is about to change all that. Entering a world of mysterious powers and nightmarish consequences, Chris realizes the secret belief of every teenage boy- that his wang has the power to change the world.
The Monkey's Penis is the third installment in the terrifying Shingles series, and once again readers with weak hearts or bladders are advised to read on at their own risk...
3.5 stars. Who hasn’t wished for a magical monkey cock? Anyone who denies it is a filthy liar. So here we have Chris and his friend Stu, as they try to decipher the monkey penis that his alcoholic mother gave him for his birthday. I assure you that I’m not making any of that up. The penis begins ejecting cosmic goo everywhere and wishes are granted. Are they exactly what was hoped for? What do you think? Haven’t you ever seen the Treehouse of Horror episode with the monkey’s paw? That turkey was a little too dry for Homer! This was very enjoyable and somehow lighter on the vulgarity than I hoped. Still had some great content and a nice ending. I said nice ending, not a happy ending. You perverts. The Shingles series continues to envelop my curiosity, but always seems to leave off somewhere between good and great. If you feel antsy and wanna burn 30-45 minutes, embellishing your immaturity, give this one a look.
Chris is a student in school with his best friend Stu. His mother gives him a monkey 🐵 penis for his birthday 🎂 and the fun begins. An interesting 👀 novella with lots of twist and turns leading to a happy ending. I would recommend this series and various authors to readers who are looking for something different. 2023 😀👒☺😅
This one is basically a Goosebumps interpretation of The Monkey's Paw, written like a southpark episode. The "Shingles" series is an admitted goosebumps inspired set of stories for (physical if not mental) grown-ups and while the stories aren't great lit and are certainly offensive, they're also somewhat entertaining when you need something completely inane. I'm embarrassed to read them but I will probably continue to do so.
Chris has a pretty shitty life. He is bullied all the time, sucks at sports and his mother is not just a little bit crazy. In fact crazy enough to gift him with a taxidermy-ed "Monley's Penis". Worse still is that it functions as a Monkey's Paw and grants him his wished, but only in the worst way possible.
So yeah this is a dirty version of the Monkey's Paw story. Not bad, not fantastic but right down the middle. It was enjoyable, but aside from the twist that the object granting wished is a penis now, the story was somewhat predictable.
A rude variation on the wish granting monkey's paw. Neither as compelling nor as tightly written as some of the other Shingles, it makes up with inventiveness. Very creative, if long winded.
A funny story with a decent ending. I liked the characters and wanted them to succeed. I really enjoy this series. The Ghost of Hooker Alley iscstill my favorite.
